Chapter Twenty-Six: Park

I 'm not sure what came over me that made me kiss Spin. I agreed to sign the contract because I like the idea of working with Spin for the next five years. I was a little surprised that Khun Hom would make that offer before Heartbeat even finished filming, but I put it down to the company wanting to get their ducks in a row after the recent upheaval with the PrinceGift ship. Spin telling me he wouldn't allow the real reason for the offer to influence my decision really touched me. Day by day, my feelings for him have grown until, when I found myself pressed against him in my bed and looking into his eyes, I just couldn't help myself.

And Spin kissed me back. We fell asleep holding hands, and at that moment I felt more content than I have in years. When I woke up this morning, Spin was cuddled into my side, and it took everything I had to pull away from him and get out of bed to start breakfast. More than anything, I wanted to stay there with him. As I take the congee that I prepared earlier in the week out of the refrigerator and transfer some of it into a pot, I imagine what it would be like to roll over in bed and spend long moments kissing him awake, soaking up his warmth, our morning erections rubbing together under the covers. Slowly, we'd move our hips until the friction would get us off, and then we'd lie in each other's arms, spent and out of breath.

Face heating at the images in my head, I concentrate on thinning the congee with some pork broth and heating it on the stove. Then I soft-boil a couple of eggs in it, add some diced green onion and garlic, and divide the mixture into three bowls just as Anya shuffles into the kitchen, rubbing sleep from her eyes.

"Is P'Spin awake?" she immediately asks.

"Don't I get a good morning before you ask about P'Spin?" I tease her.

"Good morning, P," she says, hugging me around the waist before sitting at the table.

"Good morning, Nong. P'Spin is still asleep, but I'm going to wake him up to eat with us." I set her bowl in front of her. "This is hot, so blow on it before you eat." Wiping my hands on a dish towel, I go to the bedroom and find Spin awake and making the bed.

"Breakfast is ready," I tell him before going back to the kitchen.

So domestic. It's going to feel lonely when he goes home.

As we eat, I listen to Spin and Anya talk about animals.

"P'Spin," Anya suddenly says, "are you going to live with us forever?"

"No, I'm going to have to go back to my apartment. But you can visit me there."

I glance at my sister. She looks unhappy but she doesn't cry.

Ruffling her hair, I say, "Go get dressed. It just so happens we have the day free today." I look at Spin. "Do you have plans?"

"No. What do you have in mind?"

"I was thinking we might go someplace fun like…the zoo. "

Anya lets out a shriek.

"I have a couple of free passes to Sea Life Aquarium," Spin says.

Anya is so excited, she starts jumping up and down. "Really? The place with all the fish?"

Spin nods. "They were a gift to my sister, and she gave them to me because she's scared of fish."

Anya's eyes go wide. "She is?"

"Terrified of them," Spin says. "Lucky for us, huh?"

I grin. "Sounds like a plan."

Keeping up with Anya at Sea Life, even with Spin there to help me, is just as tiring as any work day I've ever experienced. Maybe more tiring. Located beneath the same shopping mall where Spin and I recently signed photographs, Sea Life Aquarium is packed full of marine life that Anya is content to watch for hours. Often, as we moved from exhibition to exhibition, Spin and I would have to coax her away from one to get her to the next.

"She reminds me of our father," I say as Spin and I watch her study the sharks behind the glass partition.

"Did he enjoy marine life?" Spin asks.

"Yeah. He used to take me here all the time, but Anya hasn't been since she was too young to remember. I've been meaning to bring her here for a long time. Thank you for suggesting it, and for using your free tickets so I'd only have to pay for Anya's."

"My pleasure. This is a lot of fun. Hey, look! An octopus!" Getting Anya's attention, we hurry to the other side of the glass tunnel.

We don't leave until almost closing time, and, on the way home, Anya falls asleep mid-sentence talking about the blind cavefish. When we pull up in front of the house and I turn around to say something to Spin, who Anya requested sit in the back seat with her, my heart melts to find him fast asleep, too, his cheek against Anya's hair. I hate to wake him up, but I need his help getting Anya into the house. She barely rouses long enough to change into her pajamas and brush her teeth, then she's out like a light clutching the stuffed stingray Spin insisted on buying her. When I return to my bedroom after taking my shower, Spin is already fast asleep in my bed. I stare at him lying there, liking the sight too much.

The following morning, after I prepare a special breakfast with Anya and spend some time watching cartoons with her before she has to go to school, I talk to Khun Anong again about taking care of her for the next few days while Spin and I are in Koh Sumei filming. As I usually do when I have to be away, I feel guilty. But Khun Anong points out that Anya is always fine with her, and I feel a little better by the time Spin and I leave.

As soon as we arrive at the studio, we board the bus that's taking actors and staff to the beach. It's a twelve-hour drive that we spend listening to music, reading, and chatting. It's late when we finally arrive at the hotel.

After a shower in the room Spin and I are sharing, I lie on one of the two beds and scroll through my phone while Spin takes his shower. P'Big has posted a picture of me and Spin asleep on the bus, sharing earbuds. I stare at the photograph, a longing rising within my chest that I don't know what to do with .

When Spin comes out of the bathroom in a navy sleep shirt and shorts that show off his legs, tanned and tight with muscle, I turn the phone so he can see the photo.

He groans.

"Did I drool on you?"

Laughing, I turn off the screen and toss my phone onto the bed behind me. "If you did, I didn't notice. I was asleep, too."

Spin throws himself onto the other bed and crawls beneath the covers. "I don't know if I can sleep tonight. I should have made myself stay awake on the bus."

He props himself on his pillows and pulls the new script from his bag.

"P'Park," he says after a moment.

"Hm?"

He doesn't reply, and I turn to look at him. The tips of his ears are bright red as he stares at the script.

"What is it?" I ask, leaving my bed to sit on the edge of his.

He glances at me. "This line I have to say." When he points to the page with his finger, I lean over to look.

Boom: I want to feel you inside me, Khao.

When I glance back at him, Spin's cheeks match the tips of his ears.

"I don't know if I can say that to you," he says.

He's so damn cute.

"Of course you can. You're an actor," I tell him.

"It's embarrassing," he says.

"Then you need to say it until it isn't anymore," I say.

Shaking his head, he avoids my eyes. "I can't. "

"Sure you can." I take his hand and squeeze it. "First, say it without looking at me."

Spin clears his throat. "I–I, uh." Squeezing his eyes closed, he finally gushes out in one breath, "IwanttofeelyouinsidemeKhao."

I can't help but chuckle, and he opens one eye and glares at me.

"Good. Now, say it again."

Opening both eyes and giving me a dismayed look, Spin squeezes them shut again and says, a little slower this time but without inflection, "I want to feel you inside me, Khao."

"Okay, that was better, but now say it a little louder and less robotic."

Lacing our fingers together, Spin opens his eyes and stares at them as he slowly delivers the line. "I want to feel you inside me, Khao."

My cock twitches inside my cotton sleep shorts.

"I want to feel you inside me, Khao," Spin repeats without prompting.

Fuck.

Heart thumping hard, I can only stare as Spin lifts our hands, bringing them to his lips.

Eyes meeting mine, he says clearly and fervently, "I want to feel you inside me, Khao."

I swallow thickly and start to tell him I think he's got it down now when he lowers his head and glides his pink tongue from the base of my hand to the tip of my thumb.

"Uh…" If he's acting, the award goes to Spin Jetatikarn.

Staring at the dark waves of his hair, I wait for him to break character. I lose the ability to breathe when he suddenly takes my thumb into his hot mouth and sucks.

Definitely not in the script.

When he lets it slip from between his lips, my skin glistens with his saliva. Looking up, Spin says breathlessly, "I want to feel you inside me…" He leaves off, and it's like I can hear my name unspoken in the air.

A knock on the door shatters the moment. Spin jumps off the bed like it's caught fire, and I have to look down at my wet thumb to be sure what I thought just happened actually happened.
