Chapter 30

Perrie – One Week Later
“Hey Perrie, do you know when Acid’s back?” Prudence asks as I walk out of the hallway, putting my cut on.
I know I can wear it at work, but the thought of someone spilling food or drink on it gives me hives.
I raise a brow at her and ask, “Why do you want to know?”
She picks the coffee pot up and says, “Because I want in his pants, that’s why. Everyone knows I have dibs,” before looking my way. She furrows her brows at my cut and says, “Perrie, you know you can get into shit for wearing a false cut, right?”
I cough to hide my laughter before I clear my throat, and state, “Well, first off, it’s not a fake cut; it’s my property cut, and second of all, Prudence, Ollie has been mine since I was thirteen years old, so you don’t have dibs, I do, I always have.”
Her mouth drops open, anger blazing her eyes, but I ignore her and turn, showing her my back as I walk to the door, my feet throbbing from the busy morning.
I hear her screech in outrage, and I grin at the smugness that takes holds as the door shuts behind me, and I walk over to the Mustang.
“Come on, Sweetie, let’s go for a ride….” My eyes tear up as I hear my dad’s voice, picturing him sitting in the passenger seat. I miss him so much. Since I agreed to reopen the gym, my dad’s been on my mind a lot, but not him dying, more like the happy memories. According to Piston, a lot of people are ecstatic about the gym reopening, especially knowing I’m not selling, and the club will be involved, along with Cass, who has promised to be the on-call doctor.
Sniffling, I climb into the car and start her up before taking a deep breath.
Ollie messaged and asked me to meet him at the gym. It was something about paperwork.
Damn, man is lucky I love him because I cannot stand paperwork, even if I am about to have a crap load with the online classes in business management I start next month. Something Steal and his dad, Hammer, demanded I do. Apparently, if they had known I dropped out, they would have dragged me back to college by my hair, and sat with me every class—their words, not mine.
Shaking my head, I pull out of the parking lot and drive down the street, my body humming at seeing Ollie, who, yes, I love living with.
I’m not alone anymore; I don’t feel broken, I feel whole.
I frown when I pull up outside of the gym ten minutes later to see several bikes.
“What on earth…” I mumble as I park and climb out. My eyes automatically go to the sign above the door, and I can’t help smiling when I see it.
Halliwell’s Huntsmen’s Gym.
Steal said it was the perfect name because the Halliwell sisters have two Huntsmen brothers by the balls.
He’s not giving up on Cass, which is nice to see. I just hope he listens when she’s ready to talk, but as it stands, she believes he only wants to find out what happened before leaving her life again.
Sighing, I open the front door and walk inside, but pause in shock.
Brothers all stand around in dress shirts, dark jeans, and cuts, the old ladies all dressed up, my sister grinning from ear to ear from where she’s standing in the middle of the ring, wearing a champagne skater dress, holding a bouquet of daises and roses, her eyes firmly on me.
I blink when I see a reverend standing next to Piston, and then my eyes land on Ollie’s form next to him. Like the brothers, he is dressed up, but with a white dress shirt instead of black.
Cassidy’s tears fall as she nudges Ollie and nods my way, and he turns, his smile wide as we lock eyes, all while I stand frozen in shock.
“Did you really think I’d give you time to change your mind, Tinker?” Ollie says, catching everyone’s attention. My vision blurs with tears as I realize what he means.
He wants to marry me today….
This man.
Tears fall, and I quickly wipe them away as a heavily pregnant Nat walks my way wearing a dress like Cassidy’s, but hers is lilac. She’s holding a white dress and a bouquet of daisies and peonies.
“I can’t believe he did this,” I choke out once she’s close, feeling everyone’s eyes on me.
“Hey, at least you get to wear a nice dress and get married with your friends and family present,” Natalie says with a smile, mischief in her eyes.
“Fuck’s sake, I’m never going to live that down, am I?” Piston growls from the ring, and I bite my bottom lip; Natalie is doing exactly what I need to get my emotions under control because, yes, I’m about to bawl. Piston continues to moan, “Seriously, what does she want, another wedding, because I’ll fucking do it!”
My laughter escapes as Natalie winks at me and passes me the white floor-length gown, the silk feeling amazing in my hands.
It has thick straps and is simple, which is me all over.
“I love messing with him,” Natalie admits.
I raise a brow and ask, “So you don’t want another wedding, then?”
She scoffs, “God, no. I’ve just spent a week planning this with Cass. I won’t tell you the many accidents I’ve had, including accidentally bumping into Brandy, causing her to fall on the cake that had just been delivered. I swear, not only did I thank the bikers for not making me do a big shindig, but your sister swore if she ever gets married, it’ll be at courthouse.”
I chuckle when Steal passes, murmuring, “No, she fucking won’t be; it’ll be on Hampton Beach.”
That man is not going to give up, that’s for sure.
“Hey, Tinker!” I hear shouted, and we both look toward the ring. Ollie holds his arms out at his sides, and calls out, “You ready to marry me and make more happy memories in this place?”
My smile is so wide despite the tears, and I nod, making him grin back at me while the brothers all cheer.
Cassidy covers her mouth as she cries with happiness for me, and Piston puts his arm around her before kissing her head, comforting her while ignoring the daggers Steal is giving him from just out of the ring.
I tilt my head to the office, and she nods, kissing Piston’s cheek, then Ollie’s, before Steal lifts the rope and holds his hand out to her. I see her tense but take his hand, and Natalie grips mine while we watch Cass allow him to help her down the steps, his eyes firmly on her.
“Go on, Steal,” I encourage quietly, “you can do it.”
Natalie squeezes my hand in agreement, murmuring, “I swear if he doesn’t kiss her, I’ll ‘accidentally’ knock over his bike next.”
I grin as the man does it—as soon as Cass tries to pull away, he grips her hand and yanks her into his body, his mouth slamming down on hers and, of course, my sister melts.
I lock eyes with Ollie and do a silent happy dance with Nat, making him laugh, before we see Steal break the kiss, and whisper something to her, before kissing her head and climbing the steps to the ring.
Cass blinks in shock, and I chuckle as I pull Natalie with me, and say, “Come on, Cass,” shaking her out of her shock.
She shakes her head and walks forward, blinking. The brothers all snicker while Steal looks positively smug.
Damn, biker men….
I hold Natalie’s hand, guiding her to the office while Cassidy follows.
When we get into the office, and the door is shut, I turn and demand, “What did he say?”
Natalie takes the dress from me and helps me out of my cut before unzipping my waitress uniform.
Cass blinks some more, stuttering, “T-that a kiss like that means we’re n-not over….” I grin wide, but she groans. “Dammit.” She knows he won’t give up.
Natalie snorts, and I step out of my dress before Cass walks over and gently pulls the wedding dress over my head. The dress fits me like a glove, the material soft against my skin, and I suck in a breath.
This is really happening….
“Okay, sit, let me do your hair,” Natalie commands, pulling out the armchair in front of Dad’s desk. I listen while Cass removes my sneakers, replacing them with silver wedges.
I swallow as Nat unties my hair but take deep breaths, knowing I can trust her, and I mutter, “He misses you,” to my sister.
I feel Nat tug it a little, making me tense before she combs it, and I relax a little. The breathing exercises Ollie taught me help. Honestly, seeing a therapist is not a bad idea, and I can’t wait to start next week, even if I dread it a little. I want to be better; I want to live a happy life with Ollie.
We both deserve it.
“I don’t think he does, little sister. He just wants answers about that man.”
I swallow hard. She’s so consumed by the betrayal, that she doesn’t realize he loves her.
Doesn’t help that Faith is still hanging off his arm, though….
Cass stands and grabs the mascara, and I ask, “You didn’t bring her?”
She looks at me sadly as Nat squeezes my shoulder, knowing what I’m talking about. Cassidy whispers, “You know I couldn’t. I wish I could, but Steal….”
I grab her hand and squeeze it before replying, “I know. We’ll just have to do a little re-do just for her.”
She smiles sadly but nods, then kisses my forehead before applying my makeup. She whispers, “I wish Aurora was here,” and Nat and I nod in agreement.
It seems wrong to get married without her, I just hope the club can find her. Maybe they need to look closer to home first, starting with Axe….
After about ten minutes, Natalie has my hair down but pushed back to one side, a pearl clip holding it in place, while the rest is in waves, and Cass has done my makeup.
Together, they guide me to the mouth of the hallway. Music starts as we get into position, and Natalie walks ahead as my bridesmaid. Cassidy gives me a wink and follows Nat as my Matron of Honor, and I grip Steal’s arm.
“Thank you,” I whisper, and he kisses my head.
“Dad wished he was the one here to give you away, but storms stopped all flights, and his was canceled,” he admits, and I grin up at him.
“I’m not alone, though, am I?” I ask, and his gray eyes soften.
“You never were, Pez,” he admits, and I nod before kissing his cheek.
I murmur, “Don’t give up on her,” causing him to smile before “Sweet Child O’ Mine” echoes through the speakers, and my eyes tear up.
Ollie really does want to take away all of my pain….
“Let’s go get you married, darling,” Steal rasps, and I tighten my grip on him, nodding. We walk out of the hall to a room full of bikers and their old ladies, but my eyes instantly go to Ollie, whose eyes look just as teary as mine.
Piston lifts the rope as we get to the top of the steps, while Steal helps me inside the ring. My soon-to-be brother-in-law kisses my cheek, whispering, “You look beautiful, Pez,” and I smile before walking over to Ollie, who, when in reach, wraps his arm around my waist and kisses me. And I melt.
“You’re supposed to do that after the I do’s, brother!” Anchor shouts and everyone laughs, while I smile against Ollie’s lips.
“I love you,” I whisper, and he replies, “I love you, too….”
I grin. “You’re crazy.”
He chuckles with a shrug, his eyes lighting up, and everything in me settles. He won’t leave me; he won’t be disgusted by my past or my issues, because I’m his everything, just like he’s mine.
When the reverend announces us husband and wife, the club cheers when Ollie takes me into his arms, I know our future is going to be amazing, and we’re going to be happy.
