Chapter 37

Something moving behind me has me turning over only to realize I am back in ZoD's room. When he sees me, he leans back down, kissing me gently on the forehead. "Go back to sleep."

"How did I get here?"

"I refused to sleep another darkness without you, so when the med chamber said you could leave as long as I promised to make you stay in bed, I picked you up and ran before it changed its mind."

Whena small arm flings out, I quickly turn back over only to find Wynd curled up tight against me. "You brought her with us," I whisper, as I smooth her little dark curls away from her face.

"She had a death grip on you. I didn't have a choice, and we all needed the rest. I think this is the quietest I have ever heard the compound. For once, everyone can be with their loved ones, it's a wonderful feeling. Do you feel up to some company? The other females want to talk to you before they leave."

"My arm is a little sore, but other than that right now I feel fine. So yeah." ZoD no more than walks into the other room when I hear multiple voices headed my way. A beautiful blond leans in.

"Are you decent?"

Iactually have to look down because I'm not sure. I am happy to see someone had dressed me in a thin gown. "I had to look, … but yeah, I believe so, … come on it. Wynd is still asleep, but we shouldn't bother her."

"Don't count on it, we are a rather rowdy bunch when together. I am Kira, by the way." Four others walk in behind her and I swear they just keep getting prettier.

"These cuties following me are Alana, Katherine, Luna, and Jade. I don't know if you and Jade have met already. She was the one who called us to come help, but either way, welcome to the abducted Earth girls club."

"Wow, we're so special we have our own club now."

"Yeah, we've renamed it several times, but this one has stuck. Who is this doll lying next to you?"

"This is Wynd, she has kinda adopted me."

"MayI?" Kira motions to the bed.

"Please, you guys make yourselves comfortable. I am horrified and relieved that I am not the only human here, but if you guys' stories are anything like mine, this has sucked ass. However, the men are hot as hell if you haven't noticed. NowI have dibs on ZoD, but there are two others that could practically be twins, that are heart melting beautiful, running around out there somewhere."

Allthe girls start laughing, but Kira is who answers me. "I believe you are talking about DaR and SiN. I have dibs on DaR, as you put it, and I believe Jade would scratch your eyes out over SiN. Wait until you meet RaZ and SoL. The options are never ending out here. I take it that even though the circumstances are not what you wanted; you are happy here with ZoD. Sorry, if you think it's a personal question, but I have taken it upon myself to talk to every one of us. I refuse to leave any of the girls somewhere they don't want to be."

"I didn't leave much behind on Earth. Yes, I would have liked the choice to leave originally, but life has a way of putting you where it wants you. So yeah, I am gonna try to find my place here. I don't expect it to be all rainbows and sunshine, but the man pulls at all my heartstrings."

Theone with feathers in her hair, I think Kira called her Alana, bends over tracing the mark on my cheek. "I am assuming you didn't come here with that mark?"

"No, it was a door prize." I uncover my leg, showing them the small intricate marks all over my skin. The stunning one, Katherine, her eyes flash silver and I jerk back. "Sorry, my eyes do that occasionally, the marks look like someone drew on you with a calligraphy pen. They are classy and so original."

Lookingat each of them. It's plain to see they are all more than they were. "This is normal, isn't it? Each of you have changed just as I am now."

"Each differently, but yes, we have all changed since leaving Earth. All of us lost and gained in the process it seems. We can't stay long, DaR is determined to get going this morning, but I wanted to meet you before we head out. I will have SAGE contact you in a few days and we'll get you some proper clothing and all that girl stuff. Don't freak out when she pops up in a mirror. She likes to do that when we are in the bathroom; that seems to be her go to spot. ZoD has a comm unit that you can use to talk to any of us whenever you want. You might be a couple dozen planets away, but once things calm down, I have a feeling we will be visiting regularly."

Kirais just getting off the bed when Wynd wakes up, her little arms stretching out and her eyes open wide when she sees them all standing around the bed. The biggest smile I ever saw greets me before she jumps up on her knees, her tiny arms wrapping around my neck tightly. Seconds later, she is on her feet, stumbling on the bed with her arms outstretched to the one standing in the back. Jade snatches her up kissing her playfully on the cheek.

"Jade, the WallMan got Tessa."

"I see that Wynd, would you like to meet some of my friends?"

"Yes, but me stay with Tessa."

"Ok, it's a deal. This is Alana, Katherine, and Kira."

"Them all babies too, no marks. Do you all want to play, I have lots of toys?"

Katherinereaches up, stroking her small cheek. "To be so plain, she glows so brightly. You would think their coloring would wash out their features, but every one of them I have seen has been stunning. I swear I think it's the eyes."

Isee Wynd pull Jade's head down, whispering something in her ear. Then points towards Alana, except we can all hear her. "Her hair is moving all by itself."

Asection of Alana's hair moves up, wrapping itself around Wynd's ankle, and she squirms back instantly, holding her arms out for me. Jade bends over, handing her to me while Alana's hair moves back in place.

"You're ok, Alana was just showing you how magical her hair is."

"Me not like it."

Everyonecracks up, laughing at the disgusted look on Wynd's face, and it takes me a second to realize something is beeping. "What is that?"

"That's my impatient mate. He is ready to go, so he thinks the rest of us should be too. Girls let's wrap it up before he comes up here to get me. Tessa, it was a pleasure, and little Wynd, hopefully we will have time to play some when we return."

Eachone of them reaches down and hugs me quickly before they all head back out together. Wynd snuggles back down against me, and I allow myself a minute to simply stop. No thinking, no entertaining, nothing, just silence.
