Chapter 21

Running up the ramp,I immediately head towards the front of the ship. Hitting the comm unit that connects us directly to SiN's family. The console shows a circle where it's trying to connect, and I tap my foot impatiently. I just reach down to turn it off and try again when SiN's father's face appears.

"Jade, what is wrong; where is SiN?"

"We touched down on the other Commander's planet last night. SiN and I had this whole story planned out and things were going to plan until there was an invasion from these damn worm things.

"CommanderZoD took me just like he said he would, but the shocking part was he apparently was buying me to set me free. I don't know who was more shocked, me or SiN, as things started happening. ZoD's daughter was the one who took me to my own room. Where she twisted the fake collar completely off my neck with her bare hands. I was still trying to play the damsel in distress even though things were not going as we planned. When another one of his daughters brought me clothes and food. Ireally didn't know what to do when they left me alone. I thought maybe this was a trap.

"I was just getting ready to sneak out to see if I could find the other girl. When all of a sudden there were screams and people running everywhere. These worm-like things were coming straight out of the walls, doing their best to grab as many kids as they could. I was able to get a few away from them, but they were everywhere. In the middle of all the chaos, a couple girls were taken and apparently one of them was the other human. I believe her name is Tessa.

"ZoD was about to lose his shit when he found out she was taken. Honestly, I think she means more to him than he is letting on. WhenSiN decided to step in to help, it blew our cover. They need some serious help out here, DaR. Not only are they outnumbered, but they don't know how to defeat these things. SiN cut one of the worm's arms off that was reaching for me and it started growing another one.

"WhenSiN questioned ZoD about what was going on, the other commander said no one would come, so that's why he had never asked for help, but he needs it."

"Are you safe on the shuttle, Jade?"

"Yes, but I can't just stay here and let the others be taken. I am faster than they are, so as soon as we disconnect. I am going back to help move the children into a safer location on the surface."

"Jade, is there anyone there who could send us some intel on what's happening while we are traveling that way? I hate coming in blind."

"I don't know, DaR. SiN took off with ZoD and another guy right after the girls were grabbed. He sent me here to get hold of you and I've only met a few of the others in the short time we have been here. ZoD left his oldest daughter in charge, she might know something, but she is not the friendliest thing I have ever spoken to. She is very protective of her people, and I completely understand why when the damn walls can come alive at any point."

"Let me see if SCOUT can get a direct link from the shuttle since you are docked inside. If my calculations are right, we should be able to be there in half a rotation if the solar storms hold off enough for us to make the jumps."

"Don't come alone, they are going to need as many warriors as you can get."

"Good thing I had most of them already with me. You stay safe, Jade, until we can get there. I will be in contact soon, so put your comm unit back on."

Whenthe screen goes black, I stand here for a moment trying to figure out just what we have gotten ourselves into. I would be stressed to the max being here if I couldn't feel SiN. I can tell he is focused on something right now, but he is ok. So, it's time for me to pull my big girl pants up and help out anywhere I can until he gets back.
