Ally

H alloween town at dusk was gorgeous. I had never been here this early, I usually walked in once the night had blanketed the town except today, I was anxious and excited. It had been too long since I had seen the two men who had captured my attention the first year I was here. The moment I caught both of their eyes, fear and adrenaline coursed through me and since then, I was addicted. All I could think about was the man with skeleton makeup and the one with a burlap mask.

People were getting out of their cars in various costumes. The women were in lingerie and headband ears with the occasional girl who went all out on their costume with gore and guts. Tonight, I was a mix of both; a slutty doll.

The dress I wore came down mid-thigh. It was patchwork with whatever fabric I could find, with two slits up either thigh that went all the way up to my hip. Any underwear I wore would show, so tonight I went bare, feeling the wind against my ass and pussy, which excited me even more.

The top was low cut that most of my boobs were spilling out, with long sleeves to keep me warm. It wasn’t the sluttiest outfit, but it was a lot more revealing than the last two years I had come. My makeup was relatively the same, a broken doll with cracks on my face, except this year, I had blood splattered all over my face, chest and clothes. My vans were ratty enough they didn’t need blood.

Tonight felt different, it was going to be different. I had already told myself, just tonight, and I can get over them and move on. I had to move on because my obsession was becoming a problem. It was only a matter of time before it got me into trouble and that was the last thing I needed.

My heart beat fast as I fixed my dress, walking to the ticket booth. The line was long as I smoothed my hair, then played with the ends. It was freshly dyed a dark red that I had been a bit obsessed with the last few years. The line slowly moved forward. I chewed on my lip, impatience making me antsy.

I looked around the line to the gates, wondering if I would see them right away. They were never in the same spots I had seen them in, making me wonder what their jobs were here. The last two years, I had seen the same people doing the same thing, like that fortune teller, or the creepy clown that manned the equally creepy merry-go-round. Even the people at the concessions were the same.

“Next!” I snapped out of my thoughts, walking up to the window.

“One please, and one ticket for the merry-go-round,” I said, shaking as I took my money out.

“Fifty-eight, darling,” the woman snapped.

I counted my small bills as a man came into the booth with them, the skull make-up made my heart beat faster, but I quickly realized this guy had blue eyes and not dark brown ones. He whispered in her ear as I gave her my money. They looked at me like they were scrutinizing me before she nodded and took the money he was holding out to her.

She pushed my money towards me before printing off a ticket and another one, grabbing a few off a stack next to her.

“Your ticket for the town, a few merry-go-round tickets and another one for the ten pm cemetery tour,” she said.

My mouth opened to tell her something when she yelled ‘next’ and I was all but forced to move. I quickly put my money and ticket in the small pocket I had purposefully sewn into my dress. I smoothed out my dress before going to the entrance to see a woman and a man in scarecrow costumes. He took my ticket, ripped it, giving half back to me quickly.

“Have fun, tonight,” he said with a wicked gleam in his eye.

Walking through the gate, butterflies erupt in my abdomen, the anticipation was making me want to run, but I wanted to savor this. I was obsessed with Halloween and it was the reason I came back every year. I strolled down a makeshift road lined with trees, pumpkins, hay bales and a few men in costumes were scaring people. One of the men walked up to me, shirtless, with blood splatters all over his chest as he carried what looked to be a machete. He had a mask that lit up with LED lights with two x’s and a smile that looked sewn together.

I knew their job was to scare people. What they didn’t know was that I wanted to be scared, but I also loved to appear like nothing they did would bother me. The adrenaline I got when people tried to push me was my drug of choice. I loved the thrill it gave me.

When he reached me, I continued walking like he wasn’t even there. He stepped in my way when I tried to walk around him.

“Not scared, little girl?” he taunted.

“Eh, I’ve seen worse,” I said, stepping around him again.

“Oh no, baby,” he said.

A chill ran up my spine, when I felt eyes on me. Don’t ask me how I knew it was them, but I knew they were around.

“Oh no, I’m not your baby,” I said, leaning in. “Now move.”

He stayed still, cocking his head to the side. I rolled my eyes hitting him with my shoulder as I tried to pass. He grabbed my upper arm. I was about to knee him in the nuts when a loud whistle made me hesitate. His hand immediately let go of me when he looked up and he walked away quickly. I knew it was them, excitement made me want to turn around, but I kept walking, desperate for a little bit of a chase.

When I got to the actual town, the feeling of being watched went away. I was a little disappointed, even though I knew they would find me, or I would find them. My stalking skills were pretty good now that I’ve had a few years to perfect it. I walked down the shops passing the fortune teller’s booth. There was a long line already and I had heard of her reputation, she was one of the good ones. As I passed by, she caught my eye, and the distinct color variations in her eyes had me hypnotized. She was beautiful in an ethereal way, but her eyes felt like she could see into my soul. I bumped into someone, breaking our spell, and I shook off my goosebumps that had bloomed over my body.

I muttered a sorry before I made my way down the shops. Most of the stalls were not very busy since it was the beginning of the night. I perused the shops, not because I was going to buy anything, but because I never got a chance to shop. I went in and out of each stall until I saw my destination.

The merry-go-round was my favorite attraction. It was nothing like I had ever seen before. It looked as if it had been made by a deranged person. Half the horses had human torsos, like centaurs, except the human part of the bodies were dressed like Victorian men with jackets and some of them had top hats. The rest of the horses were skeletons of horses. There were a few carriages pulled by horses with wings, along with creepy lions. The entire top part was made of red and black lanterns, with a few scattered chandeliers.

It was morbid and weird, but I loved it. Marylin Manson was playing as I got in line behind a couple who were dressed like Gomez and Morticia. She was absolutely gorgeous, and he looked at her like she was the moon and the stars. As I was admiring them, I felt that prickle of awareness again. I clenched my legs, getting turned on from being watched.

My heart kicked up a beat as the ride stopped and people got off. It’s not a popular attraction this early, but as the night went on it got busier and busier. The person manning the ride was dressed like a creep ass clown, opening the gate to let us through. There were only ten of us who got on the ride. I was the second to the last person who got on when I saw one of them out of the corner of my eye.

The man with the burlap mask walked up to the gate. He stood there as I rounded the corner to get into one of the carriages. My heart was racing as M83 Solitude played just as the ride started to spin. The song was fucking perfect for the anticipation I had been feeling. I passed him once as the music got louder, and each time afterward, I felt his eyes on me until he was gone.

My mind was confused about why he would just leave. I got off the carriage, thinking he had moved, but I still didn't see him. The bass was getting louder when I noticed movement on my left. He was on the ride, walking to me. Fear hit me, it excited me though, and I was almost tempted to let him catch me.

I weaved through a few horses and weird creepy lions, glancing back, seeing him walking towards me slowly, like he knew he was gonna catch me, but I decided not yet. I still wanted the chase.
