Chapter 11
CHAPTER 11
Micah
"I'm ready now," Jett called out after splashing some water on his face. It didn't change the redness in his eyes much, though I didn't think much would at this point besides time.
My poor baby had cried his eyes out earlier. I'm just glad I got to hold him through it. And that we talked.
I feel leagues better knowing he and I are on the same page now. Given nothing else chaotic happens, we should be able to get out of here and make it to our destination with ease.
Of course, I do have a surprise or two up my sleeve still. The trip was the largest of the surprises, but it couldn't be the only thing.
What kind of Daddy would I be if that were all I gave my boy?
A good one, I'm sure. I want to be a great Daddy though.
One that spoils my boy so rotten there is no one who could ever come close to gaining his attention.
Not that Jett would pay them any mind.
His gaze hasn't focused on much aside from the trains and the views since we arrived at the station. And before that, he was ignoring everyone in the plane terminal. It was as if they were invisible.
"I'd like to find the viewing car, Daddy. It's where we can sit and see the pretty scenery," he says while lacing our fingers together.
The comfort of his touch reinforces my resolve to take care of everything he needs.
"Let's go find it, then. I'm sure you know the way, don't you?"
He smiles softly. "I do. I may have memorized everything about this train a few years back."
"Tell me which way we're headed, sweet boy." I tug on his fingers.
Through a series of brief instructions, he gets us to the observation car. It's exactly what I thought it would be. There's an aisle down the middle, splitting two rows of two-seater benches facing outward. They're positioned in such a way to face the giant windows on the side of the train.
It runs the entire length of the car, creating a magical view of the outside world.
Jett doesn't say a word as he takes it all in. We're the first ones in the room, so I scope out the space to see which seat is best. Once I settle on one, I tug him down to sit beside me.
The seat is almost too small for the both of us. Thankfully, my boy doesn't mind me being all up beside him.
His gaze is locked on the outside world as we zoom past everything. I follow his lead, taking in the gorgeous snow-covered landscape. We're still in the more populated areas, though I'm sure the view of the landscapes will be even more amazing to see.
After a few minutes of quiet, I hear a group of people right outside the car. They're rather loud, though it's not all that bothersome. It might be, except they're all giggling and pointing at the views from the windows.
Jett doesn't notice them at all. Even when they come inside and fill the seats all around us, he's clueless. It's kinda sweet how entranced he is by the entire experience.
He's also a bit of an introvert. That much I determined the first night we met. I'm more on the outgoing end of the spectrum, which is why I can't resist listening in on the conversations around me to see if there might be anyone we can befriend during the trip.
"It's better than the videos online."
"We made the right call coming on this trip."
"I love you so much, princess."
"You're the best Daddy ever."
My heart rate picks up as I put the pieces together. Looking around the space, I notice the room is full of men. Grown adult men, who are obviously paired in romantic relationships. Well, I say paired, but there's a throuple in the back corner breaking the mold.
Smiling to myself, I lean over to Jett to whisper, "I'll be right back, sweet boy."
He nods, though his eyes never leave the window. I kiss the side of his head, then focus on finding the ringleader of this group.
Standing, I scan for the person who stands out the most. I know that whoever the man was that put this together, he's got to have a larger-than-life personality.
It only takes a quick look for me to put it all together.
That and he's wearing a crown.
Or maybe it's a tiara.
From a distance, it could be either.
Taking a chance, I move down the car until I reach his chair. I clear my throat and shift into view.
"Excuse me. I hate to be a bother, but I wanted to ask if you're the person in charge of this group," I say with a smile. I don't want them to think I'm angry or complaining. Plus, I have a nice smile. People always say so.
The man in the tiara grins back at me. "You bet I am. Who are you, and how did you end up on my train?"
I laugh. "Your train?"
"Please excuse his manners. We thought we booked out the entire train for this trip. He's just frustrated to not have everyone in his circle of friends," the gentleman beside him says. "I'm Charlie. This is my husband, Aster."
"Princess Aster," he corrects instantly.
I bow forward slightly. "What an honor, Princess Aster. I'm here with my boy, Jett. He's obsessed with trains but has never been on one. I was hoping to make Christmas magical for him."
The minute I say boy, the suspicious look on Princess Aster's face disappears. He claps his hands excitedly.
"Oh, Daddy! We've found another one. I'm adding another couple to the group chat."
As he does a little wiggling dance in his seat, Charlie shakes his head. He turns my way, then says, "You've just made his day. He loves collecting new friends. Where are you seated? We should switch with someone else to be closer. My princess is going to want to talk your head off now."
I nodded towards my stoic giant boy. "Jett's down there. He's too lost in the train movement to move. Can you convince someone else to trade around us, maybe?"
Princess Aster doesn't hesitate. He stands and calls out, "Family meeting!"
All heads turn his way, some amused and others curious. I have a feeling he doesn't usually say that to get their attention.
"Family meeting?" a giant tattooed man near us questions. "Since when? I thought we already had one before we left to discuss our behavior on board."
The men laugh as Princess Aster shakes his head. "New topic! I need to switch seats with someone near that seat."
When he points at my boy, I move down the aisle to sit beside him. I nod as I pass all the men, making sure they see nothing is wrong. If anything, things are about to be very, very right.
In all my planning, I could have never guessed we'd end up on a train full of other kinky men and their Daddies. I'd call that serendipitous.
Or maybe it's a Christmas Miracle.
Either way, I'm curious to see how Jett will take the news. You know, when I finally pry him from staring out of the window.
The men around us coordinate the shifting of seats, then Charlie and Princess Aster are on my left. I turn in my chair to face them, since the whole reason they moved was to get to know one another better.
"So, you never told us your name. I just know you're Jett's Daddy."
I smile brightly. "I am. It's new. As in, very new. We're on a short vacation since he has to get back to practice next week."
"Practice?" Charlie asks.
"He's a professional football player. I hope you understand the need for discretion on these things. I figured it would be a given since we're all kinky and know about the importance of consent."
Princess Aster nods emphatically. "Of course! We won't say anything. If you look around, you might notice a face that's famous among the crowd. I won't point him out since he's a little cranky right now though. His Daddy will make him take a nap if he keeps being grumpy."
He snickers, which makes Charlie shake his head. "Be good or you can join him."
"You wouldn't, Daddy! I can't go to bed when I just made new friends."
At the segue, I introduce myself. "My name is Micah, by the way. Jett and I are from Bellport. It's in…"
"Louisiana! I know where that place is. I have a few customers there. And there's a lovely boutique I like to think of as a sister store to what I sell. It's hard to cover the entire country's kinky needs. Better to share the gift of it with another supplier."
I nod along. "Makes sense. I'm the only party planner in my area, which means I'm constantly on call. Coordinating this trip took quite a bit of effort. Worth it, though. When he realized where we were going, his face was priceless."
Sighing, I look over at my big boy. He's still entranced in the scenery, although his position has changed some. His finger has slipped into his mouth.
He's sucking his thumb.
Princess Aster and Charlie follow my gaze, cooing softly when they see what he's doing.
"How young does he regress?"
I shake my head. "I'm not sure yet. I thought he was closer to a middle, but this is making me rethink things. We haven't known each other long enough for me to tell."
Charlie nods. "And that's ok. It will take time for the two of you to figure everything out. Sometimes there aren't any clear-cut guides to how this all works. A few of the men here completely understand what it means to step out of what some might consider normal Daddy dynamics."
"Daddy is right," Princess Aster adds. "Whatever you two decide on, it has to be something you're both comfortable with. Sometimes it's video games and superhero pajamas, while other times it's bottles and bath time fun. There is no limit to your desires."
Nodding, I allow myself some relief in knowing I'm not screwing anything up. We simply need to work on the communication aspect of our relationship. Then, maybe, it will all come a bit better to me.
I know I'm meant to be Jett's Daddy. Now I simply have to figure out what all that entails so I can keep my boy happy and well cared for.
