Epilogue Two Jeremy

S now crystals glisten in the air around us as I watch my own Christmas angel step lightly towards me down the red velvet aisle. She's wearing a soft white velvet gown and there's a white fur shawl wrapped around her throat. Crystal and pearl dangle earrings dance from her perfect ears and she's carrying a gorgeous bouquet of red and white roses and greenery. Crystal and silver stalks are spread throughout the bouquet.

When she reaches me, she hands her flowers off to Promise and I take her gloved hands. In the front row, her mother is holding her little grandson in her arms and Cody is cooing while he waves his arms around wildly.

He's got Pet's silvery blonde curls and my gray eyes and he's a sweetheart. The perfect little boy.

But with a mama like Pet he couldn't be anything but.

Her soft sapphire eyes smile at me as the minister starts to read our vows. I lift her fingers to my lips and then gently start to remove her white gloves.

"Do you have the rings?" He asks and I pull out a plain platinum band and slip it on her delicate finger. I kiss it and then hand her my plain platinum band.

She slips it on as the minister reads out the familiar words.

"Let no man put asunder." He says and then he nods. "You may now kiss your bride."

I barely let him finish the sentence before I gently tip her chin up. "I love you so much, Pet. We were meant to be together. Forever."

I kiss her gently, my tongue slipping along the curve of her lower lip until she opens for me and then my tongue slips inside her mouth, tangling with her own as I wrap my arms around her and dip her gently.

The crowd cheers and then I lift her back up to her feet, flushed and rumpled and more adorable than she's ever looked.

I grin down at her. "You're never gonna get rid of me now, baby girl."

She huffs but I can tell she's happy.

The minister humphs. "I'd like to introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Jeremy Johnson."

We stroll down the aisle proudly on our way to the church basement where we're holding our reception.

Our first dance is just like holding heaven in my arms. She sways and hums under her breath as the band plays Last Christmas.

This is the last Christmas we'll ever be apart. Our parents made us spend last night apart from each other and I never intend to do that again. I couldn't sleep without my arms wrapped around my little Pet. Her curves are a little wider and curvier than they were before she had our son, Cody, but she's just more beautiful to me.

"I love you so much, Pet. And I always will." I kiss her soft cheek and close my eyes, swaying to the music and just enjoying this moment.

This last moment with my girl alone. When we leave here, we leave as a family.

Our tree is up. Our gifts are under the tree. And I'm ready to finally start our new life as a happily married couple with a son.

But for now…I just want to hold my very own angel tight and dance with her in my arms. Where she belongs. Where she always has a home.

Safe within the protective circle of my embrace. Her head on my chest and her arms wrapped around my waist, swaying to the music and lost in the magic of our love.
