8. David

Chapter 8

David

I’d had a few boyfriends over the years, but nothing serious. Nothing had ever made my breath hitch and my heart stutter the way watching Xander drive away did. It was excruciating. Even after he was gone from my view, I stood on the sidewalk and watched the street, hoping he would change his mind and turn back around.

But he didn’t. He went home like a reasonable adult. And I had to wait until morning to see him again.

I took a quick shower to rinse off and then got back into bed, pressing my nose into the sheet to try to get a whiff of Xander’s scent, but there was nothing. There was no proof that he had been there other than the used condom in the trash and the memories in my mind of the best night of my life. I squeezed my left pec and then my right and not a drop came out.

I couldn’t remember the last time that was the case.

He left me completely dry, and it was liberating. The best part was that he seemed to truly love it. He wasn’t just doing it for me. He was doing it for himself, and helping me out in the process. Win-fucking-win.

I waited until Xander texted that he was safely home, and then I fell asleep, anxious for Saturday to roll around so I could see him again.

Xander insisted on picking me up at ten o’clock for our brunch date. I offered to pick him up or meet him at the restaurant, but his favorite place was just outside of Phoenix, so he wanted to take me there himself.

I didn’t mind one bit. As soon as we started driving, our conversation flowed easily. I told him about my job and my pain in the ass client, and he told me about the current collection he was working on and some of the best and worst high-profile clients he’d designed for.

He refused to name names, but based on the clues he did give, I was pretty sure one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood and two members of a popular boy band were customers. I suddenly felt so much less alone as a lactating man.

I’d always been slightly ashamed of my condition. Not so much that I tried to keep it a secret, but I definitely didn’t talk about it freely, and I did my best to pretend it didn’t exist. That was why I never joined the brotherhood in the past. But that was about to change.

“So Wednesday night. You’ll be there?” Xander took a bite of his bacon and then waited for me to answer.

“Yeah. My last meeting is at five, but it’s usually over before six, so I think I can make it by six thirty.”

“Okay, I’ll pick up dinner, so you’ll have something to eat when you get there. And I’ll save you a seat in the front.” He winked and then reached for his second mimosa. “Don’t want you to be hungry.”

I chuckled at the way he said that as if he were trying to imply something. “I think you’re the one we need to worry about. You’re gonna be surrounded by men full of milk. How will you ever decide who your supplier will be?” I said it as a joke, but as the words came out, I realized there was some truth to the question. And it bothered me to know that Xander had several men who he drank from on a regular basis.

I certainly had no claim to him, but I kinda wanted to make one.

He reached across the table and placed his hand over mine. “That’s why I want you to be there, sexy. I’m like a bee to honey. When I’m at those meetings, I can almost smell the milk in the air, and it does make me not only horny but thirsty as fuck.”

I wasn’t surprised to hear that. Not after the way Xander had spoken so highly of his milk lust. “So if I’m there…”

“Let me just say, don’t pump or jerk off before you go.” He winked. “Save it all for me.”

Fuck, I should have worn looser jeans. Mine were suddenly too tight. “And if I’m not there?”

His smile dropped, and I couldn’t read his expression at all. After a full minute, he looked down at his plate and sighed. “What do you want me to say, David?”

“The truth.” I turned my hand over and clasped his, letting him know it wasn’t a trick question. “You’ve already told me you have several guys you meet with on a regular basis for milk. So what does my competition look like?”

His eyes slowly scanned up my body and locked with mine. “You have no competition. I want you to be there. And if you can’t be, what do you want me to do?”

Well, this was awkward. I felt like a teenager in love, but I also knew myself well enough to know what I could and couldn’t handle. And sharing someone I cared about was something I could not handle. “Do you want me to be honest with you?”

He nodded without saying a word.

“I want to be the only man you drink from. I want to be the only man you kiss. And I definitely want to be the only man you fuck. At least while we figure out if there's something here. I know it’s old-fashioned, but I don’t share well, and if I told you I was okay with you even drinking another man’s milk from a cup, I think it would be a lie. I don’t think I’d like it at all.” I leaned back in the chair and crossed my arms over my chest, giving us both some space for a minute. “In fact, I think I’d fucking hate it. Is that too honest for you?” I chuckled dryly and knew I was probably messing up a good thing before it even got started. “Because it feels too honest. But it’s who I am, Xander. So tell me, who are you?”

He got up from his chair and moved around, so instead of being across from me, he was right beside me. “I’m the man who can’t stop thinking about you, David. The man who wants to be the only one who’s ever tasted you the way I have, and I absolutely want you to be jealous if I even think about drinking another man’s milk.” He waggled his eyebrows and leaned closer to my ear. “Either kind.”

I chuckled and shook my head. Such a dirty mind.

“So, to answer your question, if you’re not there during my presentation, I’ll get horny and desperate and show up at your house ready to devour you. I’ll just be annoyed that I had to drive all the way over to you with a hard-on instead of taking you in one of the conference rooms.” He pressed his lips to mine and kissed me before moving back around to his seat across from me. “Is all that okay with you?”

I had to clear my throat of the sudden thickness that filled it, and I looked right into his eyes. “Yeah, babe. That’s all okay with me.”

“Good. Then let’s finish up here so we can hit the farmers market.”

“Oh, that sounds good. I’d love to get some sourdough if there’s a baker there.”

“There are a couple bakers I really like. And I was thinking maybe I could make you dinner tonight.” His foot snaked between my legs, and he rubbed my calf over my pants. “Something that goes well with a dairy dessert.”

I laughed out loud at that corny joke. “Seriously? Do they teach you this stuff at milk slut school?”

Xander gasped and pretended to clutch imaginary pearls. “Such a mouth on you, Mr. Rhine.” Then his expression turned to contrite. “Come to think of it, though, I’m pretty sure I did hear that at one of the brotherhood gatherings.” He shrugged. “And we actually do have recipe exchange parties now and then, so dairy desserts are not made up.”

My jaw dropped as I tried to decide whether he was joking or not. “Is that true?”

He nodded slowly. “Cheese, yogurt, all kinds of stuff. There’s even a vendor here who makes human panna cotta that’s to die for. We’ll pick some up.”

I wasn’t sure how to respond to that. “You want me to eat food made from the milk of another man’s nipples?”

Xander looked confused as if he wasn’t sure what the right answer was. “Um, yes…”

I grinned. “Yeah, okay. I’ll try it out. If you say it’s good, then I’ll take your word for it.”

“You’ve really never tried it?” Xander relaxed but seemed surprised by my response. “Not even a little taste?”

“No, never.” I thought back to last night. “Well, I might have tasted some on your tongue, but that’s it. Honestly, it never occurred to me to want to try it. It’s always been a random bodily fluid like all the others I deal with but don’t give much thought to.”

“You have no idea what you’ve been missing, sexy. Good thing you’ve got me now.”

It was a good thing. Maybe even the best thing that had ever come into my life. “I completely agree.”
