5. Xander

Chapter 5

Xander

Honestly, I was a little surprised he came back. Sometimes new guys came in once for a fitting and we never saw them again. And since I had over-shared my own kink, I was worried I had scared him off.

But apparently, that worry was unfounded, and he wanted to explore.

“What are you doing tonight?” I glanced at my watch. It was just after five, and I was starting to get hungry. “Do you have dinner plans?”

“No, dinner would be great.” He looked around the store and then back at me. “What time do you get off tonight?”

“Anytime you want, sexy. I can head out now if that’s good for you. I just need a few minutes to wrap up what I was working on. But I’m flexible if you’d rather meet somewhere in an hour or two.”

He was quiet for a moment but then smirked. “Now is good. I can wait for you.”

“Okay then. Follow me to my studio, and I’ll save my work.” David was several inches taller than me and had a wider stance, so even as he walked behind me, it felt like his presence completely enveloped me. It was nice, and I couldn’t wait to get him out of his shirt so I could finally taste the sweet nectar that had been tempting my brain all week.

“Wow, this is awesome.” He went to the wall of fabric samples and began fingering the strips. “Is this all proprietary, or do you use textiles that already exist?”

“Both. Of course, we didn’t invent cotton shirts, but the special absorbency layers are mostly proprietary.” I reached for a piece of my newest invention, the fabric that we were just weeks away from getting patent approval on, so I could build into my summer line. “This right here is truly revolutionary.” I held up the small sample prototype shirt. “It has a built-in draining system for those who leak profusely. They can discreetly drain the overflow channels throughout the day without having to change.”

David ran his fingers along the edges as he closely inspected the piece. “That’s amazing, Xander.” He looked at me and smiled. “You really are talented.”

I shrugged, doing my best to be humble when I was ridiculously proud of this particular tech. “Thank you. It’s my passion.”

David looked around the room and grinned. “That’s obvious. And as someone who’s going to benefit from your brilliance, thank you.”

I finished what I had been in the middle of and we left the store. One of my favorite Mexican restaurants was just a few doors down so I suggested it to David.

“Sounds good to me. I’ve been wanting to try out that place, but I don’t like going out alone.” He stared straight ahead as we walked down the sidewalk. “I usually get takeout or have something delivered.”

“Well, I’m a total foodie, so please call me anytime you want company to share a meal.” As I said it, I realized he didn’t have my contact information. “Actually, here’s my card.” I pulled one out of my pocket and handed it over.

“Cool. Thanks.” He took the card and slid it into his back pocket.

“And when I say share a meal, I mean it.” I waggled my eyebrows dramatically, lightening the moment. “The liquid kind or otherwise.”

David looked at me with shock for a second and then burst out laughing. “Does that line work often?”

I chuckled too. “Never used it before. What do you think? Should I add it to my repertoire?”

He just shook his head. “I don’t know. Let’s start with Mexican and see where the night goes from there.”

Good enough for me.

Our food was delicious, as expected. But I was careful not to fill up. I had hopes for a liquid dessert and wanted to make sure I had plenty of room for it.

As our plates were being cleared, David cleared his throat and clasped his hands on the table in front of him. “So, would you like to come back to my place for a drink?”

I couldn’t resist the chance to tease him back. “Be honest. How often does that line work for you?”

He looked worried for a moment before he grinned. “Touché. I was actually thinking of a glass of wine, but if you have something else in mind, that would be okay with me.”

There was only one kind of drink I wanted back at his place, and it was warm and fresh and was served from one of the sexiest men I’d ever met. “A drink sounds good. Let’s go.”

I pulled out my credit card to pay since I was the one who invited him to dinner and dropped it on the edge of the table.

But David shook his head and pulled out his own wallet. “Let me get this. Please.” He smiled and blew out a deep breath. “I already feel vulnerable in this situation as the newbie here. At least let me shift back some of the power by paying for dinner.”

I nodded as I took my card back and slipped it into my wallet. “Fair enough. And I respect that.” Then I leaned forward and placed my hand over his, giving it a firm squeeze. In a much lower voice, I made it very clear how the night would go. “But make no mistake, I’m a power bottom like you’ve never experienced. You will have very little control in that aspect. But I can assure you, you’ll love every second of it.”
