Lita

A year later

My knee bounced nervously as I finished editing a video.

"Done," I whispered. I double-checked everything was saved before I shut down my computer and stood up. I looked around the home office Ford and I had put together and smiled wistfully. I loved this space.

It was astounding how much life could change in a year. Ford and I were engaged and about to get married. My parents had a little bit of a tough time getting over our age difference, but like I had known, with time, they saw how much Ford loved me. How he took care of me and only wanted the best for me.

It was all a parent could want from their child's partner.

My siblings had surprised me by falling almost as quickly for him as I did, and Jenna adored Ford. She knew how happy and content I was with my life, and that's all she wanted for me.

Two months after getting together, he moved me into his place. His house, or ours, like he had insisted from the very beginning, was beautiful. Big and airy. It had felt like home from the moment I stepped foot inside. There wasn't a night we didn't end together or a morning we didn't start the same way.

I rented out my home. Not that I needed the money. Ford took care of me, and even though he knew I didn't need him to help support me, he did. But not just financially. Nope, not my daddy. Ford watched over me and supported everything I wanted to do. He wasn't surprised when I told him I wanted to quit my nursing job and do my lifestyles social media page full time. Then, a month ago, he didn't bat an eye when I told him I wanted to slow down on the content creation and help others build their followings.

Ford had just smiled and nodded and given me his full-hearted support.

My soon-to-be husband was amazing. We had our quirks. We weren't your typical couple. But who wanted to be? Not us. We had started off a little different than most, and anyone else wouldn't have given Ford a chance after finding out he had been stalking her.

But in my eyes, he'd simply been making sure to keep me safe from afar. A knock sounded at my office door, and it opened a moment later. There he stood, all tall, dark, and handsome. His eyes roamed my body freely. He never hesitated in showing his appreciation for my body .

"Ready?" I nodded with a smile so big and bright it almost hurt my face. He was wearing the same shirt he had that day he'd come over with that first present he'd bought me. My eyes roamed over to the side of my office where the very first plushie he had bought me sat. Now my sweet little coffee cup squishmallow had a bunch of friends because my daddy loved to spoil me.

"Ready," I whispered.

I didn't hesitate around him either.

I was very transparent with how giddy he made me feel, especially when it was just the two of us home.

Our wedding was a month away, and I couldn't wait. But this weekend, it was finally going to be just the two of us home. With the big day around the corner, people were in and out of the house constantly. But tonight and this weekend wasn't Ford and Lita, bride and groom to-be. It was daddy and his little girl's time to just be together like we hadn't had a chance to since we shared the news about our engagement.

"Movie?"

"Already on the screen, and popcorn with mini marshmallows and M&M's are ready to go, too.

"You're my favorite." I bounced on the heels of my feet before I moved toward him. Knowing me the way he did, his arms were already extended by the time I reached him, and he wrapped me up tightly in his hold.

I loved being in daddy's arms.

"You're mine, baby girl," he whispered roughly against the top of my head, and when I looked up at him, his lips were quirked in a wistful smile.

"What is it?" I asked because I didn't recognize that look on his face. He shook his head.

"Nothing." His voice sounded almost scratchy.

"Daddy?" I could tell something was up. "Tell me, or do I have to tickle you?" I playfully threatened, wiggling my fingers toward him. Thankfully, he chuckled and sighed.

"I'm just fucking happy." His hands cupped my face gently. I loved when he touched me. Each time felt like a gift no matter if he was worked up and rough or gentle and sweet. "My girl will be mine soon, and then…"

"Then?" I wagged my brows. I was looking forward to our honeymoon. He dipped his head down to press a kiss against the very spot on my neck that I'd told him made me weak in the knees.

"Then we're going to live happily ever after." Happily ever after sounded good. I liked it as much as the next girl, but it wasn't real. I liked our life. I even liked the issues we'd had to overcome the last year because it only made me appreciate the beauty of our relationship and love that much more.

"Hmm." I grinned, making sure to give him better access. "But what if I don't want Prince Charming? I like my big bad wolf."

"Do you now?"

"You know I do." I licked my lips because I could feel the bulge against my tummy start to thicken .

"Well," he drawled slowly, and I could feel the edge of his teeth scrape against my flesh. I shivered, and his deep animal-like sound shot through me like adrenaline. "How about this big bad wolf gives you a minute head start before he chases after you I was off before he said go .

Not three minutes later, I was back in his arms, squirming with delight for a whole other reason.
