Chapter Thirty-Three
Wrath
Once Tech leaves my office, I look at Flame, and I can see in his eyes how excited he is at the thought of being close to catching Claire. I don"t blame him either; he"s the one she had taken and beaten.
"Who"re you going to send?"He asks.
"No idea. Once Tech sends through what he"s got, I"ll call a meeting with Eagle, and we can plan it together. You won"t be on rotation, and neither will me nor Shadow, not with us being her targets. No chance am I going to make it easy for her to get her hands on one of us."I explain, and he nods his head, agreeing with me.
"That"s fine; I just want her gone. I want our family to be safe. I"m going to leave you to it. I"m sure once you"ve spoken to Eagle, he"ll be here quickly. You know how much he loves planning out shit."He stands, gives me a quick kiss, and leaves.
Sending Eagle a quick text to come to my office, I wait for him to arrive. I can"t wait for all this to be over. I want her dark cloud removed from our lives. Cam might not say it to me, but I know he"s worried about what she could do next, and I don"t want that for him. I want him to be able to move past what she"s done to him and live his life without worrying or fearing what his mother might do next. He deserves to just be a worry-free kid.
Less than ten minutes later, there's a knock on my door, and Eagle pops his head around the door.
"What"s up, Prez?"He asks as he enters, closing the door behind him.
"Tech's got a location where Claire frequents; it"s Devil"s Point Mall; we need a rotating schedule and a plan set up to keep an eye out for her,"I fill him in.
Rubbing his hands together, he grins. He loves this shit. I also know he wants Claire found too; we all do.
He looks like he"s thinking of a plan in his head. It always gets me how he can figure all this shit out quickly, but I guess that comes from his time in the service.
"Okay, so if we do four pairs of brothers on six-hour shifts, they won"t be overworked or tired. Or would you prefer more brothers?"
"Pairs should be fine; I don"t want too many members out there. It would be too easy for her to spot them; one on each entrance should cover it."I reply thoughtfully.
He just nods and then grabs his ever-handy notebook out of his back pocket. He sits there writing for a few minutes, then rips the page out and hands it to me. I look down at what he"s passed me and smile; it"s the pairs and the schedule they"ll follow.
Team 1: Joker and Doom 6 a.m.–12 p.m.
Team 2: Agony and Rave 12 p.m.–6 p.m.
Team 3: Ghost and Lash 6 p.m.–12 a.m.
Team 4: Behemoth and Axel 12 a.m.–6 a.m.
"Right, that seems good to me; they"ve all been around a long time, and I"d trust them all with this. Do you want to let them know? I"ve already forwarded you everything Tech sent me."
I"m hoping he"ll deal with this for me; I"ve got so much on my plate already.
"Yeah, I can do that, Prez. Is there anything else you need before I go?"He asks, no doubt picking up that I"m not in the best of moods.
"When Blade gets back, keep an eye on him and Jasmine. Shit went down between them earlier. She"s been told to stay away from him. Any issues, let me know, and I"ll deal with them."
Nodding, he gets up and leaves to go and sort out the teams. Everything should be over soon. Or at least I"m hoping.

It"s been two days since we put the teams in place to watch the mall where Tech found out Claire had been frequenting. It"s a really good place to blend in, but get everything she needs to survive while hiding out before she makes her next move. I hope someone catches sight of her soon. I"m getting impatient now. There are only two entrances to the mall, so there"s a guy stationed to watch each. There"s nothing we can do now but wait.
I"m worried about Blade; he got back yesterday, and he"s hardly been seen. He"s either in his room or at Inferno"s working. He"s avoiding everyone. I"m going to have to do something soon; this can"t go on; this is Blade's home.
As I"m about to leave my office, my desk phone rings, so I answer quickly.
"Hello," I say as I answer.
"Hey Prez, sorry to call your office, but my phone died. I wanted to ask about the artist you wanted me to meet."
"Yeah, what about her?"
"Well, I spoke to her, and she seemed alright to me. I asked her to do some sketches to test her talent. They"re decent enough—not the best—but she should improve. I wanted to check if you"re still okay with me offering her a trial."
"You can offer her the trial, but keep an eye on her."
"Why is there an issue?"
"Something happened between her and Blade; she"s been warned to keep her distance from him. Just keep an eye on her Wreck; I don"t need her causing issues for one of my Enforcers, and I"m not sure she"s what she portrays herself to be."
"I get it. Is Blade okay? I"ve hardly seen him since I got back."
"He was fine until all this went down. Now he"s hardly showing his face at home. He"s constantly working at Inferno"s and avoiding everyone."
"Fuck, man, that"s not good. I"ll check on him later. Me and Shadow were talking about going out tonight anyway; it wouldn"t look suspicious to Blade if we were at Inferno"s."
"That sounds good. Let me know how he is later. I"m sure you two will sort him out."
"Will do. See you later, Prez."
"Later Wreck."
We hang up, and I chuckle. If anyone can help snap Blade back to his normal self, it"s Wreck and Shadow. They might be best friends, but they"re also pretty close with Blade. Whereas Flame"s normally my go-to Enforcer, Blade is Shadow"s. Thinking about that, I don"t even know if Shadow knows what happened between Blade and Jasmine. He"ll definitely know now that Wreck does, though. I"ve got a feeling Shadow isn"t going to be happy at all when he finds out what happened between them. He"s protective of those he cares about, and I don't doubt that if Jasmine tries anything where he can hear it, he"ll react. I"m not going to worry about that though; they can handle Blade, I"m sure, and hopefully they"ll have him back to his normal self.
