Chapter Seventeen

Wrath

I"m shaking with rage as I get off the phone with Flame, but I know I can"t react yet as Cam"s sitting in my office with me. He"s eyeing me warily as he has heard my half of the conversation, but I don"t want to worry him by telling him exactly what just happened to Flame.

Taking deep breaths to try and calm down, I look at Cam and say, "Come on, I"ve got to go deal with something; let"s go see who"s about for you to hang out with for a minute."

He just nods his head, stands, and follows me. I walk down the corridor where all our offices are, trying all the doors. Fuck, they"re all locked. As I get to the end, I try the door to Tech's cave and breathe a sigh of relief when it opens.

Walking in, I see that all Tech"s monitors are on and he"s typing away, he has no idea I"m here. He has his noise-canceling headphones on, so I hit the light switch next to me a few times, making the lights flicker so he knows someone"s here. I"m not stupid enough to go and startle him while he"s working; I don"t feel like a punch to the throat. He may be smaller than me, but he still knows how to throw a mean punch.

He spins quickly in his chair as the lights flicker, removing his headphones as he does.

"What"s up, Prez?"He asks as soon as he notices it"s me trying to gain his attention.

"Can Cam sit with you for a bit? I"ve got some shit I need to sort and don"t want to leave him on his own."I ask hopefully.

"Sure thing, Prez."He pulls the chair out next to him. "Take a seat, mini Wrath." He says with a smirk.

Cam quickly walks over and sits down where Tech indicated.

Leaving Tech"s cave, I rush into the Common Room. I can see a few brothers hanging around, and one of the most promising Prospects, Jake, is at the end of the bar, just watching everyone. Making my way back to my office, as now without Cam to worry about, my rage is coming back in full force, and I need to unleash it in private. Someone must have come back while I was out of my office because my door slams open and Eagle enters, his eyes full of worry after he obviously heard my outburst.

"What"s wrong?"He asks while taking in my state.

"Someone tried to run Flame off the road,"I say with a deadly voice.

When I get my hands on whoever did it, they"re dead. No one messes with what"s mine and fucking lives to tell the tale.

"Fuck. They"re upping the stakes coming after him and not just the businesses."He states as he fully enters and closes the door.

"Yeah, I know. I want them all fucking dead. I know we"re clean, but fuck if I"m going to let this threat to my family stand. They"ve dug their graves with these fucking games. I"m going to make sure they all fucking lie in them."I state angrily.

"I"m with you; going after our businesses is one thing, but going after our people"s another. We can"t let that go. Sometimes we have to get our hands dirty for the greater good. It isn"t the first time, and it won"t be the last."He nods his head as he"s talking.

After that, we just sit here quietly. I check through my emails to see if there"s anything I need to handle. I have no idea what Eagle"s doing on his phone, but he has a small smile on his face. That"s something I haven"t seen from him in a long time. Not since his ex screwed him over. I wonder who"s putting a smile back on his face. Whoever it is, I"m glad. "Right, I"m off Prez. Got to check how things are looking at Inferno"s."He says as he stands.

"Eight till close is the shift you"ll be covering."

"That"s fine; I"ll see you tonight then. I"m going to get a Prospect to cover the rest of my shift here so I can grab a nap before tonight; otherwise, I"ll be fucked."He says as he walks towards the other end of the bar, where there"s a Prospect currently doing nothing.

Pretty sure it"s Eric, and no doubt he"s not going to be happy having to cover; he does the least amount around here out of any of the Prospects. I certainly don"t see him getting patched in with his attitude.

Spinning on my stool I go to stand, but stop when I realize I can"t move because there"s a bunny right there blocking my path.

I gently move her to the side so I can stand.

"Not right now, Whitney; I"ve got shit to do; go find another brother to service,"I say calmly.

She pouts but does as I say, making her way across the room to where some of the other brothers are sitting.
