Chapter Twelve

Wrath

Flame"s been gone for about an hour now, and my Dad"s just left to go to his room here in The Clubhouse wanting to grab some sleep but still be close by with Cam having to stay in here tonight. I don"t blame him for wanting to be close just in case he"s needed; all our worlds have been rocked today. Cam"s not long fallen back asleep himself; his body clearly needs as much rest as possible to recover.

Pulling my phone out, I send a quick text to all the brothers that we"ll be having Church tomorrow night at six. They all need to be made aware of Cam"s arrival and our new enemy.

After sending this, I quickly call Tech, as I want him to do some research specifically on Claire to see if me and Flame are right about thinking she"s behind the trouble we"re having.

"Hey, Prez, what can I do for you?"

"Hey, can you get all the information possible on Claire McGivens and dig deep? Also, if you can find me a copy of Cameron McGivens" birth certificate too, that would be extremely helpful. Anything you find on Claire can be brought up in Church tomorrow; there"s no need to find me with it before then."

"Sure, I"ll set up searches on her now. Hopefully, it"ll give us everything you"re hoping for. As for the birth certificate, I"ll see what I can find now, and I"ll give you a call back. Does that work for you?"

"Yeah, that"s good. Thanks, Tech. Talk soon."

As I hang up, I hear the door open behind me. Turning my head, I can"t help but smile when Flame enters. He might not have been gone long, but I still missed him.

"You weren"t gone as long as I thought you would be,"I state as he walks towards me.

"No, hardly had to fucking do anything before he was singing what he knew. Some guy hired him to break in, cause damage, and attack anyone he found. Told him we"d hurt his woman, and she wanted payback. He"s not from around here. He had no idea who he was dealing with."He tells me as he takes a seat next to me.

"Great, another dead end." I say, shaking my head, "I"ve spoken to Tech. He"s setting his systems up to search everything on Claire now. I asked him to find a copy of Cam"s birth certificate too. I"m interested to see if I"m named on it." I tell him quietly.

Before he can speak, my phone rings, and it"s Tech. That was fast.

"What did you find?" I ask as soon as I answer.

"I"ve got a copy of his birth certificate, and I think I know what you were looking for; you"re listed as his father."

"Get me a copy of that, then go grab some sleep."

"Sure thing, Prez."

Hanging up, I tell Flame, with a smirk, "I"m on his birth certificate."

Flame just laughs before saying, "Come on, babe, let"s go lie on one of these beds and get some sleep. Oh, by the way, I had a run-in with Snake when I got back; it was weird, even for that asshole. I think he needs watching, he could very well be the mole. The way he acted out there just doesn"t sit right with me."

"I"ll text everyone now and let them know to keep an eye on him,"I reply to him while quickly texting everyone I need to about Flame"s suspicion of Snake.

I have no doubts about his suspicions. Flame"s fucking good at reading people and situations. If he"s saying there"s something off with Snake, then, more than likely, there is. He"s going to be watched closely now. If he"s the mole, god fucking help him.

We both get up and go lie down; it"s not long before we"re all asleep. Clearly, we"re all wiped out from the day"s excitement. I wake up a few times during the night when Doc comes in to check on Cam, but quickly go back to sleep once Doc gives me a thumbs up that everything"s okay.

I wake up to the sounds of someone talking quietly and laughing softly. Looking in the direction it"s coming from, I see my Dad and brother talking to Cam. He looks so happy. I can"t wait to get him settled. He deserves all the love he's going to get from being part of our family.

"Has Doc been in?"I ask. Startling them all; they hadn"t noticed I was awake.

"Yeah, he just left Dad. He said I"m free to go home with you now. He"ll bring over some painkillers later in case I need them."Cam tells me happily.

"That"s great, then. Let"s all get up and get over to the house."

When I look at the bed next to me, I see that it"s empty. Now, where has he gone? How the fuck did he manage to leave and not wake me up?

Dad must see where I"m looking and tells me, "He"s gone to start breakfast in the main kitchen, something about needing to go food shopping for the house because there"s nothing over there. I don't know; I just tuned him out; I know what he's like when it comes to cooking." He gives a small laugh after he finishes talking.

Yeah, Flame takes his cooking seriously; it"s like a work of art sometimes, and it"s always fucking delicious.

Jumping up out of bed, I slip on my boots and kutte, then we all slowly walk with Cam towards the Common Room. I"m hoping Cam likes Devil"s Inferno; I"d hate for my son to dislike my MC. That would certainly be a problem. Hopefully, I have nothing to worry about. He seems excited to be here, and his eyes keep darting around, taking everything in.

With Flame cooking, Cam"s in for one hell of a treat; none of us can cook half as well as Flame. He could be a chef if he wanted; his food"s that good. I"m pretty sure he"s cooking this morning just for Cam"s sake. I"ve noticed how skinny he looks, and I know Flame would have caught it too. With Flame feeding him from now on, he"ll soon put on the weight to become healthy. That I have no doubts about.

When we enter The Common Room, we go to the table closest to the door. As they all sit down, I stay standing, telling them, "Be right back."

I head into the kitchen to see Flame. No way am I waiting until he appears with breakfast to see him. I don"t like that he left while I was asleep. That won"t happen again if I have anything to say about it.

"Morning babe."Flame says as soon as I enter.

"Morning, is it almost ready?"I ask as I walk over and kiss his cheek.

"Yeah, give me a hand to take it all out."He asks with a small smile.

Grabbing two plates I make my way back out. Placing one in front of my Dad and the other in front of Cam. As I turn around to go back and grab another plate, Flame"s right behind me, managing to balance the other three plates. He passes one over to Shadow, the next to me, and then takes a seat with his own. We all quickly dig in and eat.

"Thank you."We all say at the same time, and Flame just laughs.

Fifteen minutes later, we"ve all finished, and I"m stacking the plates to take into the kitchen. As always, Flame"s cooking was amazing. Cam ate his so fast, I thought he was going to be sick. Luckily, that wasn"t the case. As I stand, my Dad lets us know that he"s taking off for a bit but will be back tonight to sit with Cam while we"re in Church. I"m glad I don"t have to worry about Cam while we"re holding Church; I know he"ll be safe and well taken care of with my Dad. Dad knows he doesn"t need to attend Church, as we"ll fill him in on anything we find out. Shadow tells us that he"s leaving too, as he needs to go check on a few things at Devil"s Ink. My guess is that"s code for, he still hasn"t sorted through all the paperwork he promised Wreck he"d keep on top of and needs to go sort it out.

"Just going to the toilet."Flame says as he stands up and leaves, dropping kisses on both mine and Cam"s heads as he passes by.

Fuck I love how open he is with his affection.

"Are you going to be okay for a minute while I run these into the kitchen?"I ask Cam, not wanting to leave him if he isn"t comfortable.

"Of course."He gives me a small smile, which I return before quickly leaving to get rid of the dishes.

As I"m loading the dishwasher, I hear Flame roar from the Common Room. Quickly leaving what I"m doing, I run back out there. Flame wouldn't be roaring for no reason, and we left Cam out there on his own for a few minutes. Fuck! Someone best not have messed with my son. I"ll fucking kill them whether they"re a member of Devil"s Inferno or not; my son is off-fucking-limits!

I can"t believe what I"m seeing when I re-enter the room. My son"s on the fucking floor crying while holding his throat, and Flame has Snake pushed up against the wall by a hand around his neck. Flame"s entire body"s shaking from barely contained rage, and Snake"s face is going red as his oxygen supply"s being cut off. Flame can kill him for all I care; it"s obvious to me he"s done something to my son.

I rush towards Cam, skidding on my knees in front of him. His entire body"s shaking so badly that it"s visible. I just pull him into my arms and hold him to me. He buries his face into my neck, and I can feel his tears against my skin. What the fuck happened?
