Chapter 7

Lucian

"Alpha, Queen Vanessa, and King Ronald are here to speak with you." Beta Marcus murmurs, looking a bit worried, "They are acting really weird, and I don't know what to say about it. They keep saying their daughter is here, but I don't know why she would."

"I don't know either but I'm sure we will figure it out soon enough." I tell him, running my fingers through my hair, "Bring them to my office, I will deal with them. King Ronald is kind of an asshole and doesn't like me, so I don't want you getting in the middle of it."

Beta Marcus doesn't look too sure, and it seems like he is hiding something, but I won't bother saying anything right now. I'm not quite sure what to say about it, feeling a bit weird because it is highly possible that all of this will turn back to bite us in the butt. I don't know what to say but I think that maybe this is going to change everything.

I sit behind my desk, waiting for them. King Ronald and I have never seen eye to eye so I'm almost a hundred percent certain that he is going to be a bit of an asshole to me the minute that he sees me. I don't really care; I will deal with him. I don't know how I feel but I'm okay with it. I can't be sure what'll come next.

"Alpha Lucian, it is good to see you again." King Ronald murmurs cheerfully as he walks into my office without bothering to knock, "I am kind of glad that it is on this circumstances because I'm not going to just back off. Where is my daughter? I know she is here."

"Why would the Princess be here?" I ask him, raising an eyebrow now, "I don't even know who she is. I never met your daughter."

Queen Vanessa moves closer, sniffing the air as she looks at me suspiciously, "I'm sorry but you actually smell like our daughter. That would only mean that she has been around you often. Have you brought anyone new into your pack? She might not have even let you know who she is."

I don't know what to say to that, trying to think about it. My eyebrows furrow slightly as I try to process it all, feeling quite weird as I'm trying to figure it out. It almost immediately dawns on me, making me feel really sick to my stomach because I have no idea what to say. I know now who they are talking about, but I really hope that I'm not right because that would mean that I could have very well started something that would cause a war.

"Are you talking about Celine?" I ask them, praying that I am wrong.

"Yes, that is our daughter!" Queen Vanessa says excitedly, "She ran away from home because she was pissed at us for arranging her marriage. I know that she doesn't like it so much but I'm afraid she doesn't really have much of a choice. She has to do what she needs to do for her kingdom and sometimes, you just don't get what you want."

That pisses me off almost immediately and I glare at her, "You are not going to make her do anything. She ran away for a reason, and you better not do that shit. Celine is MY mate, and she is going to be the Luna of my pack. I suggest you leave because she's not going to go back with you."

King Ronald looks at me like I'm crazy, staring at me like I had just grown a second head, "what do you mean she is your mate? I'm not going to permit that!"

"She is my FATED mate." I tell them, rising to my feet as they realize what that means, "You might not like that, but she is fated to me by the Moon Goddess. I'm not going to accept it either way and I hope you realize that, too. I don't know what you think is going to happen but I'm not going to let you take her away from me. I hope you know this."

King Ronald gets up in my face and he does not look happy, "You have no right to her, Alpha Lucian. If you do not give me my daughter, I'm afraid you're going to be at war with my kingdom and I can promise you that you will hate it. Your people will die, and you will lose everything. Celine won't want to be with someone like you."

"She does want to be with me even though I didn't know she was the Princess." I explain to him, making sure to keep as calm as possible because I'm not going to let him win this fight, "I understand that you THINK it is going to be bad or whatever, but I can assure you that she will be safe with me. She will be loved by me. She doesn't have to force herself to be happy by my side because that is all that I want to give her. I want her to be okay. I want her to be happy. And I will FIGHT you if I have to make sure that she remains that way."

His expression growls colder, "are you serious, Alpha Lucian? I don't care what you think but a war is not worth her. You're going to lose so much because you were thinking with your dick."

"With all due respect," I cut him off, knowing that people do not do that, "I think with my heart and my brain when I think about her. I like her a lot and I don't know precisely what our path will lead to, but I do know that I'm going to continue to do everything that I can to make sure that she is happy by my side. I don't care what you say, King Ronald…"

He doesn't look like he knows what to say either and Queen Vanessa looks a bit tense. I don't give a damn that they are royalty, but I do wish that Celine would have given me a heads-up. I know that he hates me, and I know he is going to do everything to keep her away from me. I'm not going to allow it to happen like that, but I will do everything in my power to make sure that she will be fine.

"You're going to regret this." He mumbles, turning around, "I guess I will see you on the battlefield, Alpha Lucian."

He goes to walk out when the door bursts open. I am surprised to see Celine there since I didn't call for her but it's not really a surprise. She is looking at her parents with surprise as well but when she looks at me, I don't know what to think there. I am a bit disappointed that she couldn't tell me the truth, but I understand now why she didn't. Her father is a nut-job, and she probably knew what would come from it.

"Mom, dad, what are you doing here?" She asks in a hushed tone, staring at them, "I thought I made it very clear that I wanted nothing to do with you guys anymore. Leave here and don't ever come back and leave us alone."

"That can't happen, Celine," Queen Vanessa murmurs, "you have a duty as the Princess. Come home with us and forget this foolishness."

I really don't know what to say but Celine's expression grows cold, "No, I won't. Now leave, I don't want to be the Princess any longer. If you try to force this on me, I will never forgive you."
