Chapter 24
Twenty-Four
Moon
O nce we are cleaned up, we return to our little campsite, and I see that Lust is there. He's all cleaned up and looking fresh, and it annoys me just a little bit. He always looks so put together. I want to see him out of control.
“What the hell happened back there?” Lust asks as soon as he sees me, and I freeze. My eyes go wide, and I stumble over my words.
“I… I- what? Where? I don’t… uh…” How the fuck did he even know?
“In the Arena, Moon.” He narrows his eyes on me before crossing his arms over his chest. “I’m not asking about you dry-humping Tristan against the tree,” he snarks, and I cringe, hiding my face behind my hands.
“Oh, goblin-dicks, you saw that!?” I groan.
“Even if I hadn’t seen it, I would have heard it. You moaned so loud?—”
“Stop, please!” I shout, throwing my hands up in surrender.
“Why was there an army of Goblins trying to kill you?” Lust asks, taking mercy on me, even though I know my face is bright red.
“I don’t know, Lust. I…” I trail off, shaking my head. Looking over at Tristan, who looks smug as shit, I blush again. “I guess I should tell you both some stuff…” I murmur, and Lust nods. Tristan gestures to the spot on his mossy bed next to him, but Lust takes it, pointing to the log next to the fire across from the bed, and smirks when Tristan glares at him.
“Moon!” a man shouts, and I jump to my feet, startled. Then I see his magenta eyes, and my heart flutters.
“Arlo!” I start running for him, but forget that I was just sitting on a log, and go flying face first toward the ground. I know what's about to happen, seconds before my head cracks against the rock. “Fucking kidding me,” I mumble before everything goes black once again.
