Chapter 31
31
Eli
" G ood morning, baby boy," I say when Jordan opens his eyes and finds me lying awake watching him from the other pillow.
Last night was the best night of my life. And not just the sex. Sleeping in a bed with two people who want me is two more than I ever thought I would have.
"Morning." Grinning as if remembering the night before, Jordan glances around the bedroom he says, "Where's Maddie?"
"Shower. She's been in there for over an hour."
"Think she's having second thoughts about this?" he asks.
"Us? Nah. If I had to bet, she's trying to figure out how to explain to her father that she wants to keep us both and how to convince him not to kill us."
"Well, she may need more than an hour based on what you've told me about Dante Salvato," Jordan remarks.
"No kidding." Rolling to my back and stretching my arms over my head, I say, "I'll figure something out. It would fuck her up if he killed even one of us. Both and I'm not sure if she would ever recover."
"You really do care about Maddie," Jordan remarks, sounding shocked.
"I do," I say with a puff of laughter. "Trust me, no one is more surprised than I am to admit that."
"And you care about me?" Jordan asks. When I glance over, he's grinning at me since he already knows the answer, he just wants me to say it.
"Yeah, I do."
"You know, I meant what I said last night. I don't see a monster or the devil or anything else in your eyes. I think your mom was just nuts to say those kinds of things because you, Eli Murphy, are a god."
"I hurt and kill people for fun," I remind him, giving his nipple a pinch and a twist that makes him wince.
"Don't all gods? And you hurt and kill people who deserve it or for Dante. He's an asshole for making you do those things for him."
"I like doing it," I remind him.
"I don't think there's anything wrong with that if they deserve it. But you shouldn't have to hurt people or kill people just because your boss tells you to do it."
"I don't think Gavin deserved to die," I admit. "I killed him because I knew it was what Dante wanted. There was no way Cass and Cole were going to be able to go through with it."
"Gavin?" he asks, his voice hard like he's jealous.
"The stripper I told you I had a thing with for a while."
"You were with him? Like a couple?"
"No. I tormented him, hung him up, and fucked him. You know, basically everything I did to you."
"Right. The guards did mention something to me about the fate of your last lover. I think they were trying to warn me that I wouldn't survive the basement." After a moment he asks, "Would you have killed me, you know, if Dante ordered you to?"
"If he kills me first, then I won't have to."
"Seriously?" Jordan huffs. Reaching for my face, he pulls me toward him to kiss me on the lips. "I don't want him to kill you first just so you won't kill me. That's insane, Eli. How could you work for someone like that?"
"I didn't have a choice. I'm his puppet; he's my master."
Jordan shakes his head. "No, I don't buy that. You came to Rockland to find Maddie without him. You didn't have to come back here with her. So why did you?"
"I thought for years that I was in love with Dante," I admit.
"You're in love with him?"
"No. Now I know it's something else. I love him, like a father, I guess. I don't know, I never had one. And sure, I hate that he makes me do some of the shit I have to do. But I knew he missed Maddie. He was angry with me for keeping Cass and Cole's relationship from him, so I wanted to bring her back so he would forgive me."
"That's so fucked up. You should leave, Eli. We all should leave here this morning."
"Maddie would probably leave with you to avoid Dante's wrath. But if I leave, Dante will hunt me down and kill me for betraying him for the third and final time."
"We could keep you safe. The Savage Kings could help protect you."
Snorting, I tell him, "No, they can't. You don't know Dante like I do. Nothing, not even an army, could stand in his way when he sets his mind to do something. And I owe him, even if you don't approve."
"You don't owe him anything."
"I would be either dead or in jail right now if he hadn't taken me in."
"You really think so?"
"Yes. And if he hadn't taken me in, then I never would've met Maddie. I thought she left because of me. But she left to save me from myself. And because she wanted to have some freedom for the first time in her life."
"Not that she really got to have any freedom since she was tied down with me the whole time she was away from Vegas. I shouldn't have insisted that she move in with me..." Jordan remarks with a frown.
"Trust me, Maddie never would have done anything she didn't want to do."
"If you say so."
"I do. And I'm going to figure out a way for you two to be together again."
"The three of us," Jordan amends.
"Right," I reply as I roll out of bed to get dressed.
I don't tell him that I doubt if I'll live long enough to join them.
All I know for now, is that we've got to sneak Jordan out of the penthouse before Dante ever finds out he was in the city.
"Stay here. Don't leave this room until I tell you it's safe."
"Okay," he replies as he sits up in bed to watch me dress, the bedding pooling around his bare waist. I love how he looks at me like a man who has been on a strict, no dick diet for years, and now he can't get enough. "Just promise me you won't do anything stupid."
"I promise," I lie. If not, Jordan would probably try to go march right up to Dante this morning, still naked, tell him he's a prick, and that Madison and I are going back to Rockland with him on the next flight.
What my biker boy doesn't understand is that Dante would fill him with bullets before he even gets two words out of his mouth.
Maddie
When I step out of the steamy bathroom, the first thing I notice is that Jordan is sitting up against the headboard typing on his phone, no doubt checking in with his mother who has probably been worried to death about him.
The second things is, "Where's Eli?"
"He just got dressed and left," Jordan replies as he eyes the towel wrapped around and tucked into my chest. "You were in the shower a long time. How are you feeling about everything? Any regrets about last night?"
"No. No regrets," I assure him as I crawl back into bed. "Last night…it felt right, perfect. I'm no longer weighed down by guilt that I'm cheating on you. Or crazy with jealousy."
"Me neither," he says with a smile. "I think my jealousy was only about missing out when you and Eli were together. As long as I'm with you both, it's hot as hell to watch him lick you and fuck you."
"Same," I agree. "You two are like…like thunder and lightning crashing together. It was never that way for us, but I'm not jealous, just sort of in awe."
"You and I are great together." Grabbing my waist, Jordan hoists me onto his lap, straddling his legs. Undoing the front of the towel so that he can see every inch of me, he adds, "It's just different with Eli. New and exciting and…freeing."
"That's how I feel with you and him too – free. Now we just have to figure out how to handle my father."
Jordan's palms slide slowly up my sides to cup both of my breasts. "Eli wants to sneak me out before someone tells your father I'm here."
"That's probably the best idea."
Thumbs brushing over my nipples in circles, Jordan says, "I would rather just confront him, meet him, tell him that I love you and would do anything for you, and that he's used Eli for too long."
Shaking my head, I tell him, "That wouldn't go over very well. He probably wouldn't listen to a word out of your mouth…" I trail off when that amazing mouth of his latches onto my nipple, licking, sucking it, causing a knot of pleasure to gather in my lower belly. "I can't think with you doing that."
"Then don't think for a few minutes," he says while kissing his way up to my throat, tugging my hips forward until his hard shaft is between my thighs, demanding entry. "While I love having you and Eli at the same time, I've missed just being alone with you. I can't even remember the last time…."
His lips and tongue claim mine in a deep, sensual kiss, and then I can't resist grinding against his stiffness, coating him with my dampness.
It doesn't take long before I'm desperate for more. Needing him inside of me, I lift onto my knees to slowly sink down on him.
"Holy hell," he whispers against my lips, his entire body shuddering, making me smile.
Grabbing my face, his golden-brown eyes are heavy-lidded when he says, "I love you so damn much. Nothing will ever change that."
"I know," I whisper back. "I love you too. I'm sorry I hurt you…"
"We hurt each other," he interrupts. "I promise I won't keep any more secrets."
"I promise not to tell any more lies."
Our mouths crash together again, as if sealing our promises. Gripping Jordan's shoulders, I ride him faster, take him deeper until I'm right on the edge…and my bedroom door whips open.
A woman screams like someone is trying to murder her. It's one of the housekeepers, standing frozen in the doorway with a vacuum cleaner.
"Get out!" I yell at her as I climb off Jordan, and he pulls the bedding up over us.
"I'm sorry…I thought…I heard the door shut and footsteps on the stairs, so I thought..."
She heard Eli leave and thought it was me apparently, so she came to clean. Finally snapping out of her trance, the woman pulls the door shut again, closing us inside. But I have no doubt that her scream put the whole house on alert.
"Get dressed," I tell Jordan as I grab a silk robe to wrap it around me until I can get to my closet.
Jordan manages to pull on his boxer briefs before the door flies open again, this time so hard it bangs against the wall.
My father's chest rises and falls under his half-buttoned blue dress shirt as if he ran all the way up to the third floor from the first. But his arm is steady as he raises his gun, aiming it at the six-foot-four mostly naked man standing at the foot of the bed.
I jump in front of Jordan, just as he says into the silence from behind me, "Hi. You must be Maddie's father," as if he's not two seconds away from being shot to death.
"Put the gun down, Daddy!" I order him.
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't blow his head off," my father grits out, his arm still raised.
"Because I love him. And he loves me," I answer in a rush.
Vanessa appears behind my father. She places her small hand on his outstretched arm that doesn't budge. Cole's head pops up next to her and I see a flash of Cass's red hair before Cole shoves her behind him. They're then joined by a group of guards…and Eli who pushes in front of them all.
My father bellows louder than he's ever yelled, " Who the fuck is he and why the fuck is he in my house !"
"I'm Jordan. Jordan Robertson. Maddie lived with me in Rockland." He holds out his hand as if he actually thinks my father will shake it like a rational human being.
When my father cocks his gun, I don't know what to do. I can't jump up and down to try to shield Jordan's head that's eight inches higher than my own. Thankfully, Eli slips past Dante and bravely stands directly in front of the muzzle, so close it's nearly brushing his chest through his dress shirt.
"I lied to you," Eli admits. "Maddie wasn't with a PI in Virginia, she was with Jordan, but he was good to her. And if you touch a hair on his head, every member of every chapter of the Savage Kings MC will show up in Vegas to make you regret it."
"You son of a motherfucking bitch," my father grits out before he thankfully holsters his gun, apparently to free up his hand that he plows into Eli's face.
There's an awful sounding loud crack. And I know it's just the beginning, so I step in front of Eli now. "Stop it!" I exclaim, turning my back to my father to check on Eli. His eyes look a little stunned as he lifts his fingers to swipe at the blood dripping front his nose. "Are you okay?"
"You know I love pain, inflicting or receiving it," he says with a grin.
"I don't know what the fuck is going on here, and I don't care," Daddy says. "Take them both to the basement."
"What? No!" I exclaim when I spin around to face him. "Can't we all just sit down and talk about this like normal fucking people?"
"Dante…" Vanessa starts as if she's trying to reason with him.
But he ignores us. "Don't make me repeat myself!" he says to his guards who flood into the room from the hallway. My father grabs my arm, yanking me out of the way while two guards grab Eli and two head for Jordan.
"Please don't do this," I beg him as I try and loosen his fingers gripping my arm hard enough to bruise. "Please, Daddy!" I plead again as Jordan and Eli are escorted from the room.
"The only person to blame here is you for acting like a spoiled fucking brat," he grits out. "I thought you were smarter than this, Madison."
"Smarter than what? Sleeping with the man I love? I haven't done anything that I'm ashamed of," I assure him. I don't mention that I've also slept with Eli. He's angry enough at the man for lying to him.
"You lost my fucking trust when you ran away. Now, you've lost all my respect," my father says before he walks out the door and shouts, "Someone watch her. She's not allowed to step foot out of this penthouse until I say so."
