16. Wedded Bliss

SIXTEEN

WEDDED BLISS

Naomi

"Mmm," Naomi moaned as a long, wet tongue circled her clit, the pleasure making her back arch.

This was a very, very good dream. She reached down, her fingers tangling in long hair as she gripped the head between her legs. A deep, hungry groan vibrated her clit, and her eyes flew open.

Faktil looked up from her pussy. "Good day." He grinned, his mouth glazed with her desire.

"Yes, it is," she moaned when he returned to his task.

Her legs tightened around his head as he worried her swollen clit.

"Flick my clit just like that," she groaned.

"So," lick, "that's what," lick, "this is called," lick.

She bit her lip and nodded, as he tormented the bundle of nerves. Faktil didn't know what her clit was called, but he could work it like a pro. The way he gazed at her with those intense dark eyes, along with his hormone-laced saliva, also heightened her pleasure, sending her spinning faster toward climax.

Her eyes rolled toward the ceiling and landed on an unexpected sight.

"Bandit!" she screamed in surprise.

The parrot sat in the rafters staring judgmentally down at them.

"Where?!" Faktil barked as he rolled away from her, throwing up his hands to ward off the parrot's attack.

Thankfully Bandit didn't try to come after Faktil like he had yesterday. Although, the way the bird stared was just as unnerving.

"Well, that killed the mood," she mumbled to Faktil.

"Aye." He nodded, not looking away from the grumpy parrot.

Naomi sighed. She didn't like that her feathered friend wasn't coping well with this change.

"Come on, Fruit Bandit, let's all have breakfast." She waved for the bird to come down, while grabbing her clothes.

"I'm going to go make water." Faktil grabbed his kilt and went to the door. He cast her a look that said he was disappointed their play time was cut short, then headed out.

Bandit instantly followed him, and she ran to the door.

"Bandit!" she hollered, admonishing the parrot as it swooped toward Faktil's back.

Faktil ducked in time, and Bandit squawked, clearly pissed, before taking off into the forest.

Naomi shook her head, relieved Faktil wasn't hurt, but still at a loss about what to do with Bandit. Thankfully by the time she and Faktil got ready for the day and ate breakfast her sour mood shifted. It was really hard to stay in a bad mood around the good-natured man.

"So, is that how I can expect to be awoken each morning?" she asked, grabbing her canvas collection bag and the spare for Faktil before they headed outside.

"By an angry, voyeuristic bird? I hope not," Faktil replied, his expression entirely serious.

"No!" she laughed. "You know what I mean." She hip-checked Faktil.

"Oh, you mean my first meal." He licked his lips. "Maybe," he impishly replied.

"Trouble!" She shook her head as she pointed in censure at him, then grinned. "So, I was thinking we'd go fishing again today? You put away a lot of food."

"I'm sorry." Faktil cringed.

"Don't be. You're a big guy." She leaned in and kissed his bicep, except Faktil still looked disgruntled. "What's wrong?" She rubbed his arm.

"I want to help you fish, but apparently I scare them off or attract the sharks," he huffed in frustration.

She looked down at Faktil's calf. Surprisingly, he was almost entirely healed from the shark attack. There were just a series of pale pink lines in the shape of a bite mark on his skin.

"How about we dig for clams instead?" she suggested, feeling bad for him.

"Then again, I haven't had much luck on land either. The crabs also seem to enjoy taunting me." The poor man grimaced.

"I'll protect you from the crabs." She patted his bicep as they entered the forest.

Faktil looked sideways at her. "I feel like that's backwards."

"Aw, does that wound your male ego?"

Faktil made a pitiful face and nodded.

"Well, you can protect me from everything else," she giggled.

He grinned at her, and they continued on the path. She reached out and grabbed his hand as they walked. Actually, she grabbed his finger, since his hands were so much larger than hers. She happily started singing a song that popped into her head, while swinging their hands. They reached the beach and she turned to Faktil to ask him something, only to find him smiling adoringly at her.

"What was that you were singing?" he asked.

She blushed and looked at the ground, suddenly embarrassed. She didn't sing often, and certainly not around other people.

"No, Blossom, don't do that." Faktil lifted her chin so she was forced to meet his gaze. "Humans have melodic voices and when you sing it's captivating."

If anyone else told her such a thing she'd think they were lying, but Faktil wasn't like that.

"It's a love song my mother used to listen to when I was really young. I don't really remember all the words, but I think the tune popped into my head because it talks about islands and their love taking them to another world," she tried explaining at least what she could remember. "I remember catching my dad slow dancing with my mom to it."

"Ah." Faktil's smile grew even more tender as he caressed her cheek. "It is lovely, and so is the singer."

"Mahalo." Her cheeks heated further. "Maybe we should get to digging."

Faktil nodded, though he continued gazing into her eyes and stroking her cheek. The love reflected back at her mixed with the deep-rooted memories of the song had her eyes misting. She'd fallen hard for this man.

Movement on the sand caught her attention and she was surprised to see a crab coming straight for Faktil, like it was on a mission.

"You weren't joking." She gaped in disbelief as she pointed at the little menace.

Faktil smirked at the crustacean. "Well, at least it's not armed with a knife this time," he commented, while lifting her off her feet and dancing a few yards back.

He'd mentioned the crabs having an issue with him, but not that they were armed. Surely, he was teasing, except his expression was dead serious.

"Are you kidding? That sounds like a ridiculous video I once saw."

"Aye. The other day, when you were fishing, one of them grabbed the knife you left and came at me. It was a dire situation, I was unarmed," he chuckled.

She snorted at the mental image, but was also stunned.

"I think you were right. I must give off a scent that riles the creatures of this planet, making them flee or attack." Faktil shook his head as he set her back down.

It was crazy, but that seemed to be the only explanation. She certainly didn't incite this sort of reaction from the wildlife. If anything, they responded to her like she was a cartoon princess. Maybe like those cartoon princesses, she could talk to the animals, too.

Naomi dropped to the sand and leaned in close to the crab. "Back off, he's mine, unless you wanna be dinner," she warned the crustacean.

Surprisingly the crab stopped and scurried off the other direction.

Faktil burst into laughter and she joined him, giggling until tears streamed from her eyes and her sides hurt .

Faktil quo Laus

"With your luck, there's no way you're climbing on that roof. You'll break your neck," Naomi informed him as they debated what to do after their mid-day meal of the clams they harvested that morning.

"I'll be fine. We need to patch that hole." Faktil grinned, tugging his worried little mate close. He couldn't get enough of touching her, smelling her, hearing her stories.

"Mmm hmm," she replied dubiously as she melted against him. "Everyday something has happened to you." Naomi ran her finger over the spot where the coconut bonked him and frowned. "Maybe you could boost me onto the roof and I'll fix it."

"And then I'll feel guilty if you fall. No." He pinched her cute little nose and gave it a wiggle.

"Fine. I won't get on the roof," Naomi relented. "Let's go for a swim in the crater. We can wash the salt off from the ocean. Besides, we didn't really get to swim yesterday." She grinned suggestively at him.

"Blossom, I think you are just distracting me from the roof." He eyed her suspiciously, though truthfully, she could distract him all day any day.

"Is it working?" Naomi cast him an impish grin.

"It is," he growled hungrily, his tail tightening around her.

"Well, since we're going swimming," Naomi wiggled out of his arms and took several steps back, "I don't need to be completely dressed."

He watched intently as she peeled off her khaki pants and white shirt, loving the curves she revealed. Except she halted, leaving her green bathing suit in place.

"You know, since it is only us on the island, I don't see why you need to wear clothes at all." He advanced toward her.

Wearing a coy smile, Naomi slowly stepped backward, keeping just out of reach. "So, does this naked all the time rule just apply to me?"

Rather than answer, he watched her take two more steps backward. She was taunting him. His hunger churned hotter, his inner beast chomping at the bit, as if he were waiting for the starting bell of a race.

"You know what making me chase you does to me," he warned, taking another step forward.

"Oh, I know. I can see it." Naomi's gaze went pointedly to his growing erection, purposely goading him. Goddess, he loved it.

Faktil was reaching for his waistband when Naomi turned and took off into the woods.

"Yes!" he growled in delight.

Though he was eager to chase her, he didn't run into the woods as fast as he could have; he'd overtake his rowdy mate too quickly that way. As hard as it was, he was learning a smidge of patience. It was more fun to let her get a head start and prolong the fun.

Naomi didn't take one of the paths into the woods, so the growth was denser, and he didn't readily spot her. Faktil chuckled at the twist. Their game of chase had turned into a game of seek.

"You think you can hide from a hunter?" he called to her while scanning the forest. He'd shared his childhood story with her. She knew what she was up against.

Faktil tugged in a deep breath, hoping to locate her that way, except her scent pervaded everything around him. He was panning the forest on his left when Naomi giggled on his right. He spun in time to see her dart out of the brush and run deeper into the woods. Laughter rumbled in his chest and he gave chase.

He sprinted through some bushes and encountered a group of large black rocks, jutting up from the forest floor. Faktil surveyed the large rocks as he rounded them, though the crevices were too small to hide his rowdy mate. Abruptly, he came to a halt, shocked to find Naomi casually walking. Instantly his desire shifted to concern.

"Did you hurt yourself?" He looked her over.

"No." She shook her head.

He was instantly relieved but also confused as he studied her face. There was no hint of her playful nature that was there a moment ago.

"I think I figured out what I want to do once your people rescue us," she continued. "I could be a pilot, like you," she casually informed him and his mouth dropped open.

"Is that what you were thinking, just now?" he asked incredulously.

"Yeah." She smiled innocently at him and nodded.

Oh, she's evil! There wasn't a hint of any impish intent dancing in Naomi's eyes as she responded, and she knew full well she'd done an about face on him.

"Think about it. We could hang out while we work, flying together," she reasoned, with genuine excitement in her eyes.

It was actually really sweet that she wanted to learn to fly to be around him and he liked the idea. Apparently, she truly had been debating the idea. They'd had an earlier conversation about what she might do once they returned to his world, so it reasoned it would be on her mind. Though the timing of this conversation left a lot to be desired. He glanced down at his waning erection.

"Sucker!" Naomi snorted and took off running again.

His eyes widened. She had been teasing him .

"Female!" He barked and took chase. "You are wicked," he called after her.

"I do think flying together is a good idea, though," she laughed back at him as she darted into a thicket of flowers.

"It is a good idea, and when I catch you, I'll show you just how pleased it makes me," he taunted with a chuckle, as he pushed through the brush.

He made it to the other side and again found Naomi standing still. His grin broadened, loving the way his mate kept him on his toes.

"Shhh," Naomi hissed under her breath.

Oh, I won't be fooled this time. He opened his mouth to say as much and caught a whiff of the acrid stench of her fear. This wasn't another of her games.

Naomi slowly lifted her finger and pointed. Twenty paces ahead was an ugly, four-legged creature with tusks curling up from its snout. It was reminiscent of an arva and stood waist high. The bristles on its body stood on end as its beady eyes glared at them.

"It's a pig, a wild boar," Naomi whispered.

So this is what Bandit had been calling him. Somehow, he wasn't surprised by the unflattering association.

As if hearing his thoughts and taking offense, the boar let out a disgruntled squeal then charged. Considering his luck with animals on the island, the pig was undoubtedly coming for him, except Naomi was between them. The pig was half his size and would do serious damage with those large tusks. As dainty as Naomi was, it would kill her. Instinct took over and Faktil launched forward, snatching Naomi up before the beast could reach her.

"Fuck!" she shouted, her arms frantically wrapping around his neck as he turned and ran.

She shoved her face into the crook of his neck, protecting her eyes as they barreled through the flowering brush. Faktil also held up his free arm to shield her from the brunt of the slapping limbs. The bristling creature was undaunted, following them through the growth with ease. Its huffing grunts were quickly gaining on them. He'd run down a wild manx colt before, so it wasn't like he was slow, yet this boar was proving surprisingly fast. He was heading back toward the cabin, but there was no way they'd make it that far. They needed to get off the ground, out of range of the enraged boar. The only trees around were the skinny palms. He couldn't climb them with Naomi in his arms, and with his luck he'd drop his precious mate. Faktil's gaze landed on the grouping of tall rocks.

"Can it climb rocks?" he brusquely asked, unfamiliar with these beasts.

"Um, I don't think rocks that tall." Naomi shook her head.

"Good." He pushed faster, his heartbeat hammering in his ears.

Faktil leapt as whiskers brushed the back of his knee. The beast squealed in anger when he landed on the rocks, just out of reach. Except they weren't out of trouble yet. The nasty bastard reared up on its hind legs. The boar used one of the grooves in the rock to get leverage up. It was nearly tall enough to reach them with its snapping jaws, and the way it thrashed its head it was going to gouge them with its sharp tusks.

"Son of a metcor !" he snarled and kicked the bastard in the fleshy round part of its snout, careful to use the ball of his foot so he didn't break his toes, since he was barefoot.

The boar tumbled backward, but the hairy bastard wasn't even stunned by the kick. It was on its feet and coming for them an instant later. He should've risked climbing one of the palms. He could've had Naomi latch onto his back like a rucksack.

"Be careful. They can break bones," Naomi warned when he kicked the pig again.

Except this time the beast was wise to him, dropped down and started circling the rocks, looking for a different way to get to them.

"Bad people get rid of bodies by feeding them to pigs," Naomi fretted as he set her on the tallest section of rock, though he was certain even that wasn't completely safe.

He glared at the menace, Naomi's comment adding a new level of horror to the situation. He had to do something. He couldn't let a beast this dangerous freely roam the tiny island. He'd be worried about Naomi all the time. He wouldn't even be able to let her walk from the cabin to the shed without an escort. No. He had to take care of the scourge.

"You won't be pig food," he assured her. "Stay here."

"What are you going to do?" Naomi worriedly gripped his hand when he reached for the supply bag.

"I'm going to kill it." He squeezed her hand. "Hand me the long blade."

"Be careful." She reluctantly released his hand and passed him the machete from the bag.

With the long knife in hand, Faktil watched the persistent boar circle the rocks, huffing and grunting. The damn thing was persistent. He leapt down, landing on the beast's back. He was about to bring down the machete when the boar jolted forward with a squeal.

"Oh no," Naomi cried as he tumbled backward.

Faktil flipped onto his feet as the beast spun around to attack. He dodged left when the boar charged. As it passed, he stabbed downward with the machete. The boar screamed when the blade lodged behind its shoulder blade. It violently jerked, yanking the machete from his hand.

"Torment!" Faktil snarled, frustrated it wasn't a killing blow.

More enraged than before, the beast charged, thrashing with its tusks. He had to get close to dislodge the blade, and one of the tusks clipped his thigh, cutting into the muscle.

"Fuck!" Naomi screamed.

He ignored the pain radiating through his leg and yanked the machete out of the pig. A spray of its blood mixed with his own, dripping down his leg. The beast bellowed, turning to attack him again. He couldn't make another mistake. Rather than stabbing, he chopped down, slamming the blade into the back of the boar's head. With a grunt, the beast staggered then dropped.

"Is it dead?" Naomi whispered in horror as the large pig twitched.

He didn't want to traumatize his new mate, but he didn't dare take any chances. He brought the blade down a second time, severing the boar's spinal cord, just below its skull.

"It is now." He nodded.

"Oh, thank god." Naomi threw her arms around his neck.

"Yes. Thank the goddess." He dropped the machete and held his little mate, relieved the threat to her was dead.
