81. Chapter Eighty-One
Chapter Eighty-One
Beth
E nzo looks over my list of suggestions for social media accounts and advertising options, frowning a little as he mouths some of the site names. He's not that much older than me, but I doubt he spends much time online. Considering this restaurant was his dream, and his food is incredible, I'm guessing he spends a lot of his free time perfecting recipes.
"Maybe this is more like something Gio would want to check over."
I press my lips together, realizing that suggestion might have sounded a little dismissive.
He looks up from the page, and his expression relaxes, surprising me.
"Yeah. This is definitely something he would know more about."
He drops the page to the table and leans back in his seat.
I can't help but stare. The way his shirt stretches over his muscles, showing how defined they are even under the material is so damn sexy.
My mouth is starting to water, and that's before I've even fantasized about what he might look like below the belt.
Not a smart idea, Beth. You don't want to get flustered because you're imagining his cock.
Yeah. I really need to stop staring at him like he's a big, juicy piece of meat that I'm ready to sink my teeth into.
I'm supposed to be working, I should concentrate on that.
"Where did Gio go?" I ask, glancing around. "If he signs this stuff off, I can work on setting it up tonight."
"I'll check," Enzo says, surprising me by taking his phone out of his pocket instead of standing up to go look. He doesn't make a call, either. He starts typing.
I try to remember where Gio said he was going, but I don't know if he told us or not. All I know is he got up around the same time as Jack.
Jack went into the reception area to get a better signal while he took a call about the delivery of the signage for out front, and he's still pacing around out there, phone pressed to his ear.
I don't remember where Gio said he was going.
I was kind of distracted by the way Enzo was staring at me, his serious, dark eyes looking me up and down. It's the first time I've caught him looking in a way that seemed like it might be sexual.
Despite what Secret told me before she went home earlier, I'm having a hard time believing this big, sombre chef could possibly be interested in this little, klutzy student.
"Gio's helping Arrow with something upstairs," he tells me, as he slips his phone back into his pocket. "I can sign this stuff off."
"Are you sure?" I ask, flushing a little when he looks at me.
"I trust you," he says. "You've noticed all the things we missed when we set this place up. If Gio wants to add more sites or remove one or two he can talk to you about that later."
"Okay," I agree, nodding slowly. "Then I can work on these when I get home."
"What's next?" he asks.
"Um …" I start, trying to think while he's waiting patiently, his gaze dropping to my lips.
It's no use. I can't concentrate one little bit while he's looking at me like this.
Gio and Jack are so much easier to talk to.
Enzo is quieter, and slightly unnerving.
I'm not sure if I want to hop in his lap or get up and rush out of here.
"I should go home and get started on the internet stuff," I blurt, kind of disappointed in myself.
I don't really want to leave, but I'm struggling with the sexual tension that's burning between us.
He frowns. "I can get you a laptop, if that helps?"
I shake my head, not sure what else to say.
He gets up when I get up, and he leans in close.
"It's been a while, huh?" he asks, his voice soft.
My cheeks burn as I gaze up at him. "You have no idea."
"You're too tense," he tells me. "I could help with that."
There's no mistaking his meaning. I can feel the heat of his stare and I know what he's thinking about. My gaze drops, and I can see that he's as turned on as it gets.
Holy hell. That's one monster of a cock hiding in those jeans.
I swallow as I look back up to find him smiling down at me.
"If there's one thing I'm good at, it's helping my mates to relax."
His mates. I guess I'm almost one of them.
I bite on my lower lip.
It's the single most tempting offer I've ever had.
"I'm sure you're very attentive," I murmur back.
And I'm certain I'm going to let him kiss me.
Wherever things go after that, I'll leave up to fate.
I'm done fighting my attraction to these men.
"Will you let me show you how attentive I can be?" he asks softly.
I nod, and he leans in, lifting me up and placing me down on the table.
I push the pen and papers to the ground and look back up at him.
His smile deepens. "Did you enjoy that?"
"I did, but I'm going to enjoy this way more."
"I would hope so," he remarks as he leans in to kiss me.
I wrap my arms around his neck as I kiss him back, a thrill running through me at the touch of his lips on mine. My entire body reacts to him, making me desperate and needy for more.
I have a feeling my dry spell is about to be broken, and I couldn't be happier.
