Epilogue

BHP Aviation Headquarters,eight months later…

"DoI really have to go to the barbecue? It's February. And it's in the hanger."

Walker did his best not to laugh as Blair pouted, looking incredibly beautiful as she toed at the floor, her boot leaving little scuff marks on the polished surface.

He walked over to her, taking her hand in his. "It's the team's one year anniversary. Everyone's going to be there. But I promise we'll just stay long enough for me to embarrass Corbin and Booker at darts, then we'll head home. Okay?"

She glanced at the door, voices echoing through the metal as the rest of the crew laughed and partied in the hanger. "Which means, you'll be here half the night."

She rubbed her belly, rolling her shoulders as if it might help alleviate some of the strain being seven months pregnant obviously had on her body.

Walker inched closer, dropping his other hand to her stomach, smiling when it moved beneath his palm. "Did you have other plans for tonight I'm unaware of?"

God, the way she smiled at him. If she wasn't already expecting, Walker would have tried to make a baby, right then and there, consequences be damned.

"I always have plans."

She beckoned him to her with a simple turn of her head, eating at his mouth as if she hadn't tasted him in weeks.

A throat cleared behind them a moment before Corbin groaned, moving in beside them. "For god's sake, you two. Don't you have any restraint? Snogging in the hallway when she's practically ready to pop?"

Walker gave Corbin a shove. "Blair's not the only one who's getting ready to pop, right Gretta? And it's cute when Blair says the word snogging. You, kid, not so much."

Corbin waved him off. "We're only halfway there because we have some of that restraint."

"Hey, it's not our fault Blair's implant got damaged in that gunfight without us knowing about it. Not that I'd change anything, even if we could." He smiled at Blair, loving how she was fucking glowing. "I'd say things are downright perfect. Besides, unlike you, I don't have commitment issues."

Corbin punched his arm, this time. "Says the guy who hasn't even asked the woman to marry him. I can't help it if we decided to do things in order."

"There's no order, and we don't need a piece of paper to be committed to each other."

Corbin snorted. "There's definitely an order, isn't that right, babe?"

Gretta rolled her eyes, moving in to give Blair a fierce hug. "Blokes. And I'm convinced Walker and Blair simply wanted to one-up us." She knocked shoulders with Blair. "You just had to be first to get pregnant."

Blair laughed. "I couldn't let my little sister get married and pregnant before me, now, could I? Not with that ‘order' crap Corbin's whining about."

Corbin coughed. "I'm whining, now? Sheesh. Should have known the sisters would stick together. I hope we both have sons, buddy, or we'll really be outnumbered."

Walker grinned. "Ain't that the truth."

Blair smiled at him. "Maybe if you're lucky, we'll have one of each."

Walker froze, glancing from Corbin to Gretta then over to Blair. "One of each? As in getting pregnant, again? Because I'll have a dozen but that's up to you."

Blair beamed. "I meant, this time. Maybe we'll have one of each instead of two boys or two girls."

Was his mouth hanging open? Was he drooling? "Two?"

"Right, so, remember how I had that spotting and the doctors sent me for that insanely early ultrasound?"

Walker sobered. "Scariest few days of my life. But, everything was fine, and no one said anything about two babies."

"Of course, they didn't." She snorted as if he was daft, as she always said. "It was way too early, only ten weeks, yeah? Well, with everything fine, they forgot to schedule me for the follow-up one until last week, remember? Something about making sure where the placenta was. You were off doing that flight for Hank."

"Only because you told me it would save me from inadvertently seeing what sex the baby is. That Gretta was going to go with you, instead." Because they didn't want to know. Wanted it to be the best kept secret.

"That's what I thought, until they discovered a second, well, everything."

His mouth was definitely hanging open.

Blair laughed, again. "Breathe, Walker. Everything's going to be okay. Well, it means I could go into labor a bit early, and now we need to buy more stuff, but…"

"Twins? You're sure?"

"Would I tell you if I wasn't sure?"

"No, but… Why did you wait so long, then? Christ, we need another crib, more clothes and diapers. Fuck, we need a bigger house."

Blair shook her head, tiptoed up and kissed him. "We've got everything we need, right here. The rest is just stuff. Though, I will take you up on that quick shag, seeing as we might not have any spare time once the babies are born."

Babies.

Christ, how had he gotten so damn lucky?

Corbin rolled his eyes. "And that's our cue to leave. I think Booker said he was coming late, so you might have company."

Walker pulled Blair into his arms as Corbin and Gretta darted past, yelling to everyone else not to use the door because Walker and Blair were shagging in the hallway. What would undoubtedly get Walker razzed for the foreseeable future. Not that he cared, because…

Damn, he was one lucky son of a bitch.

Walker held her close, laughing when a firm kick caught him in the hip. "Someone's feisty."

Blair rubbed the spot, shaking her head. "At least, it wasn't my bladder, this time. I swear, I'm going to need a new spleen by the time this is done."

She cocked her head to the side. "Did you mean what you said? About having a dozen?"

"Hell, yeah. Might as well go for a full football team. But, that's up to you. I get the easy part. You… You're amazing, you know that, right? And stunning."

"Charmer. Don't think that will get you out of diaper duty."

"Not a chance."

"Fine, then, let's get this shindig over with, yeah? Because I really do want more than a quick shag when we get home."

Walker dipped down — kissed her — then opened the door, motioning her through with his hand on the small of her back. His teammates cheered, shouting out something about him being too quick, as they mingled with the rest of the crew.

Walker was up, two to one, against Corbin and Booker at darts when he realized it was getting late. That he'd promised Blair they wouldn't stay too long. He told his buddies they could pay up, later, then made his way over to where Blair and Gretta were chatting with the rest of his team, showing off some new gun Gretta had just gotten for her shop.

Blair moved into his arms as he stopped next to her, nodding at her sister. "I swear that kid is going to be born with a pistol in their hand."

"I don't doubt it. You ready?"

"If that's your way of saying it's time to get to the shagging, then hell yeah. But before we go, I have a present for you."

"Like the whole twins thing wasn't enough of a surprise?"

"Wanker. And Wyatt just had it printed out for me." She reached behind her and grabbed an envelope off the table. "Open it."

Walker took it, wondering if he should shake it out, first, then tore the edge of the paper. He reached in, removing a photo of what looked like Chadwick McClaren pinned to a wall with Leland smiling like a fool for the camera. "Is that Leland and McClaren?"

"Leland just texted me. They found McClaren in some two-bit dive in Madrid. Something about trying to smuggle more weapons into Glasgow. Anyway, he wanted us to know, he had the arse, and that the sod wouldn't be bothering us, again."

Walker smiled. "And here I didn't get him, anything. Though, it's about time. I thought Corbin and I were going to have to go hunt the bastard down, ourselves."

"Guess that frees you up for more of that shagging."

"Brat. But, seeing as you've given me two surprises, it seems only fair I return the favor."

Blair furrowed her brow, looking more than a bit suspicious.

Corbin stepped over, patting Walker on the back. "Are you finally doing what I think you're doing?"

"Shut up. And stop ruining the moment."

"Can't ruin what hasn't happened, yet, old man. Hey, Ty, Knox, Colton… grab your ladies and get over here. Walker's finally growing a set."

The other men marched over, making way too much noise, but Walker didn't care, because for better or worse, they were his team. And he wouldn't change anything.

Blair crossed her arms over her chest. "Okay, you tossers. Out with it. What's going on?"

Ty held up one hand. "Can't spoil the surprise."

Walker gave the other man a shove, focusing on Blair. "They're asses. The whole lot, and I can't believe any of the ladies, here, actually agreed to shack up with them. But they're right in the sense that this is long overdue."

He reached into his pocket, removing a small velvet pouch. "I know we said we didn't need to be married. That it didn't define our love, but the truth is. I want the world to know you're my everything, so…"

He went to one knee, removing the ring from the pouch. "Blair Elizabeth Hughes, will you marry me?"

Blair's mouth gaped open, her eyes wide as she stared at the ring, then over to him. Tears leaked out the sides before she was blushing and laughing. "Of course, I'll marry you, you daft prat. Now, get up."

He stood, slipping the ring on her finger. "Daft prat?"

"You deserved it." She smiled at the ring, then looked closer, her mouth opening in a hoot. "Oh my god. Is this a mood ring?"

"Hell yeah, sweetheart. I need something to give me an edge where you're concerned. Like now… it's blue. I believe that means you approve."

He had plans to get her another ring with a Zultanite stone, that changed colors, too. Not like a mood ring, but it was as close as he could get. And just as rare as Blair.

But he couldn't resist giving her the mood ring, first.

Blair stared at her hand as Corbin got everyone a drink. "I can't believe you got me a mood ring."

Walker pulled her in tight. "Do you like it?"

"I love it. It's brilliant and perfect and so utterly you. I'm never taking it off."

"What if I told you I have another one in mind that changes color, too? That this is just the stand in."

"I'd say you're daft because this one beats anything else." She leaned against him. "I love you."

"You'd better because it took me two hours to finally get the claw to grab onto that ring."

Blair gave him a swat.

"Hey, it's not red. No cheating the colors. And I love you, too."

"I know." She glanced around the room, before turning them toward the door. "So, Walker, what color is the stone, now?"

He glanced at her finger. "Purple."

"Exactly, which means… it's time you took me home and we got to that shagging before it changes color, again."

Walker grabbed her hand, then headed for the exit. "Hell yeah. Hold on tight, sweetheart, because the ride's gonna be bumpy."
