Chapter Sixteen Brugo

I see the sword coming for me a moment before it hits. It is only when the flat sting of it meets with my head that I realize he has not swung to kill but to stun and, while it confuses me, I am thankful for it gives me a chance to duck and roll out of his way, taking Mabel with me.

Fenn, however, is now left in the open and I roll quickly to also grab at his legs. He falls like a sack of groundnuts, but it takes him out of the way of Reeve and gives us a chance to get a wider berth of the man.

I glance quickly at Zeklan, who is no longer guiding the ship. Instead, he is moving stealthily towards the edge, no doubt trying to sidle over. Once he is in the water, he will be able to make it over to this side of the ship quickly and, hopefully, pull Reeve over the side with him.

Another look behind Reeve tells me that there are others on shore, ready to act on his behalf. I can't see the king. But Tomkin Vayne is there and that doesn't surprise me one little bit. It seems Reeve has parted ways with the king and is now going rogue with Tomkin.

This gives me some hope because this would then be a hasty decision on Reeve's behalf. It hasn't been that long since we escaped him so to leave Gilberd and come here stinks of a rogue decision. I am thankful for that, but we have to gain the upper hand now, so that we can escape.

Mabel is already struggling in my clutches, desperate to break free and join with Reeve. I wish I had a moment to give her the orgasm she so desperately needs but there is no time for anything but survival as Reeve comes in swinging.

Still, that doesn't stop the little satyr.

He lunges for Mabel even as I roll her away from Reeve's clutches. His fingers find her opening, fucking her even as we continue to move backwards. I duck under the swing of Reeve's sword, this time angled correctly, and Fenn continues to finger bang Mabel. She growls at me, trying to claw at my face but then her expression morphs into one of joy as her eyes roll back into her head and I assume Fenn has commenced an assault on her clit.

Thank the gods for small mercies and smaller satyrs who are single-minded in their focus for pleasure.

"Keep going," I hiss even as I make it hard for him to do so.

Drawing Mabel back even further, I am close to the entrance to the deck below. But I don't want to go there. That would trap us entirely. Instead, I angle around the opening, Mabel writhing and moaning as I do so, Fenn's fingers still knuckles deep inside of her. We move around the hatch, me forever thankful that Mabel is so small and light that I can heft her over my hip, still giving Fenn the access he requires.

I need to get to Zeklan. We all need to be off this ship as soon as possible. We are still at the entrance to the beach, so I am hoping the water is not so deep that I drown.

But Zeklan won't let that happen. He'll protect us all and I don't give a single shit at the moment about my orcish pride. So long as Mabel is safe, that we are all, I don't care that I need a tentacle monster to do so, in order to save me. We've been through too much now; we need to be free of the clutches of Reeve more than anything else.

And, for a single moment, I realize I don't care how. If we have to kill Reeve right now, and I suddenly cease to exist because of it, I'm alright with that. It's not about me. Perhaps, it never was. Instead, the world–our world–revolves around Mabel and her happiness, as well as her survival. What I want is inconsequential to that.

Which makes me wonder where Arthur is in all of this because I haven't seen a single shred of his smoke since Reeve jumped on board. Looking frantically around–even as Mabel climaxes–I search for the demon but come up naught.

Where the fuck is he?

A sick feeling wells in my stomach as I ponder exactly what might be going on here.

Has he run away? Surely not. He loves Mabel just as much as we do.

Is he hiding? No, that can't be right either. Reeve is right here; he could kill him and be done with the curse altogether.

Is he on Reeve's side? Once again, that's a no, because I know for sure that Arthur is a part of our group, and he would never fuck Mabel over like that. And, as much as he has been abrasive and not the best friend to any of us other than Mabel, he is still a part of us, I can feel the connection that we all have. He would not be able to switch sides, even if he wanted to.

No, something else is going on instead.
