16. Lennox

"Hey, Len."

I turn around to see Weasel and Iron walking toward me. I don't show it, but I'm instantly tense and have my guard up. It has been a week since I agreed to stay with Ghost. I'm pretty sure I've made a huge mistake—mostly because I've never been happier. I've even begun justifying all the reasons not to seek revenge on the Titans.

"What do you want?"

Weasel holds up his hands in surrender. "I'm just here to apologize. I was an ass and I'm sorry."

"You were," I mutter.

"Can we be friends?"

"I don't see the point," I say with a shrug. "But if you leave me alone and keep my name out of your mouth, I won't find you when you are sleeping and gut you like a fish."

Iron laughs, but I can see that Weasel is getting pissed. He manages to tap it down, but it's still there on his face. "Word is you're living with Ghost these days. I guess you decided to climb up the club vine," he grumbles.

"I see you didn't learn from yesterday. There was no club vine. You and I were never an item and were never going to be. Get over it."

"You bi?—"

Iron clamps his hand down on Weasel's shoulder. "I believe you have work assigned, Prospect. I wouldn't be picking fights with an old lady unless I wanted trouble."

"Old lady," he scoffs. "Ghost will show her to the door any day. He never keeps a woman."

"I"ll inform him about your feelings and make sure it"s known in the club," Iron says. I almost smile at the fear I see on Weasel's face. He leaves after that, and I take in a breath. I really am starting to hate that guy. "Sorry about that, Lennox."

"No worries," I dismiss, wishing Ghost would hurry. I'm not comfortable here—even if I'm slowly giving up the hunger for revenge. It was grief fueling it, mostly. There's no one here to get revenge on. Shadow and Bones hated one another. He never had any dealings in the plot to screw over Ivan and his brothers. Iron is the only other one involved. I never met him, but I know Bones called him often to get him to do some grunt work. That doesn't mean he was in on everything, though. Bones was his president at the time. He was probably just doing club business for Bones.

"You look familiar, Lennox. I know Weasel said you just moved here, but are you originally from Phoenix?"

"Nope, never set foot here before. I only came because I had a big contract, and it needed some hands-on work. That's concluded now."

"What do you do?" he asks. My guard instantly goes up. I could be wrong, but it feels like he's fishing for information. I shake my head, knowing he probably is. I'd say Ghost put him up to it. I could almost roll my eyes.

"I'm a web designer."

"A techie like Ghost. I guess it makes sense that a hot chick like you would give him the time of day, I guess."

"I didn't know he was a techie. I just like his dick," I mutter, annoyed beyond belief now. Iron laughs, but it sounds kind of fake to me. I shake it off. I'm just annoyed with the world today. Still, that was a shitty thing to say about his brother in the club. Ghost is everything a woman could want. He's everything I want.

"Is that so?" I turn to look at Ghost and roll my eyes. It keeps surprising me how he can sneak up on me like he does.

"Don't get the big head," I mutter, as he takes me in his arms, practically lifting me off my barstool. "You're late." I wrap my arms around him and bury my head in his chest.

"Sorry. E-Z, Shadow, and I were held up doing some club business. You ready to roll?"

"More than." Ghost moves us toward the front door after nodding at Iron. "Something wrong, Tiger?"

"You club is annoying. I mean, Weasel, I get because I made him look like a little girl in front of the club members."

Ghost laughs. "It wouldn't have surprised me if he had pissed his pants."

I grin, because I would have liked that. If he pulls any shit again, I'll make that a goal. "Yeah. Then Iron upset me. I got to say, I love Liberty and E-Z is cool. Shadow seems pretty normal, but I'm not sure how I feel about the rest of them."

"Rage and Ice are cool. There are a couple of others."

"I'll take your word for it."

"Iron usually maintains an even keel. What did he do?"

"I don't know. He came up to me with Weasel. He reeled him in after Weasel pissed me off again, but …"

"But?"

"He said I was only drawn to you because you're a techie like me. It rubbed me the wrong way. You have a lot of things I like about you. I didn't even know we shared a love of computers."

"I wouldn't say I love them. I just know how to use them," he argues. "There's something you haven't thought of."

"What's that?"

"You're fucking hot, Lennox. Maybe Iron is just testing the waters to see if you will give him an opening."

"That's gross. I'm sleeping with you."

He smirks. "Babe, you've been to our parties. Sharing women is pretty common around here. Iron loves tag-teaming."

I scrunch my face up in response to his words. "I have nothing against threesomes. If that's what you want, there shouldn't be shame—more power to you and all that jazz. I'm just not a big fan of the term tag-teaming. Do you?"

"Do I what?"

"Have threesomes, foursomes, whatever," I forge ahead, not sure how I feel about it.

"I have before."

I guess I should have expected that, given he's a member of a MC Club and I've never met an angel among them. Most of the men are dark as fuck from the shit they've seen or been through. Others are more like Ghost, easy-going and good men, but they live with no boundaries and outside of the law. I do that too—at least whole outside of the law. I have boundaries, though. Still, I'm not sure how I feel about this revelation. Crap, we don't always use condoms. I usually never let that happen, but I've gotten stupid recently. I feel safe with Ghost.

Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

"Oh."

"I kicked around asking Iron if he wanted to join you and me." I freeze and push away from him.

"You what?"
