Chapter 10
WEDDING DAY
Inside the castle, Leo and Amir were in separate chambers, preparing for the ceremony. Leo's room was a flurry of activity. His attendants—his brothers and his nephew, a mix of villagers and close friends, bustled around, ensuring every detail was perfect. His wedding attire, a deep green suit with gold embroidery, symbolized his connection to the earth and nature.
In the adjoining room, Amir was equally surrounded by old friends he'd been so happy to reconnect with, and they embraced the new him. There were village well-wishers too. His attire was a rich, royal blue, adorned with silver threads that sparkled like stars. The colors were chosen to complement Leo's, representing the sky that embraced the earth.
As the time for the ceremony approached, a quiet settled over the castle. Guests began to fill the grand hall, their whispers of excitement adding to the atmosphere. The hall itself was a marvel—rows of seats lined with white silk; the aisle covered in a carpet of rose petals.
Senem and Leonard took their seats in the front row, their expressions a mix of pride and joy. Their daughters-in-law were in the back helping to wrangle their granddaughter and the other small children invited to participate in the ceremony. They exchanged a loving glance, remembering their own wedding day, and the journey that had led them here to witness their son's union.
Finally, the moment arrived. The grand doors opened, and a hush fell over the room as Amir entered, escorted by his attendants. He walked with a regal grace, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. At the opposite end of the hall, Leo stood waiting, his heart pounding with love and excitement.
As Amir reached the altar, he looked into Leo's eyes, and the world seemed to fall away like it often did when they stared into each other's eyes. Leo's gaze met his, and in that moment, there was only the two of them.
The officiant, an elder from the village known for his wisdom and kindness, stepped forward. "We gather here today to witness the union of Prince Amir and Leo," he began, his voice resonating through the hall. "A union born of love, tested by trials, and strengthened by their unwavering commitment to each other."
The ceremony was a blend of Eldoria's rich traditions and the personal touches that reflected Amir and Leo's journey. They exchanged vows they had written themselves, words filled with promises of love, support, and eternal companionship.
"Leo," Amir began, his voice steady but filled with emotion, "from the moment we met, I knew my life would never be the same. You have shown me the true meaning of love and have been my strength through every challenge. I promise to love you, honor you, and stand by your side for all the days of my life."
Leo's eyes shimmered with tears as he responded. "Amir, my beloved, you are my heart, my soul, my everything. Together, we have faced darkness and emerged into the light, stronger and more united than ever. I vow to cherish you, to protect you, and to love you endlessly."
As they exchanged rings, a symbol of their eternal bond, the guests erupted into applause, their joy uncontainable. Senem and Leonard watched with tears of happiness streaming down their faces, their hearts full. Faizan and Zara mirroring their look across the aisle.
The ceremony concluded with a kiss, sealing their vows and igniting a new chapter in their lives. As they walked down the aisle together, hand in hand, the hall filled with the sound of music and cheering.
The reception was held in the castle's grand courtyard, under a canopy of stars. Tables were laden with a feast fit for royalty, featuring dishes that highlighted the bounty of Eldoria. There were roasted meats, fresh fruits, and an array of pastries that delighted the senses.
Leo and Amir made their way through the crowd, greeting guests and receiving well-wishes. The love and support from their friends and family were overwhelming, a testament to the lives they had touched.
As the night deepened and the festivities continued a large bonfire was lit in the center of the courtyard, its flames dancing in the night air. Musicians played lively tunes, and soon, the courtyard was filled with dancing.
Senem and Leonard approached the couple, their faces glowing with pride. "You both have created something truly magical here," Senem said, embracing them.
Leonard nodded, placing a hand on Leo's shoulder. "We are so proud of you, son. You have found a love that many only dream of finding. I'm excited to see how you turn that into a victory for an entire kingdom. I couldn't have imagined this day more perfectly."
Leo smiled, his eyes meeting Amir's. "We are blessed to have such wonderful parents and friends. Your love and support mean the world to us and served as a constant example of what longevity and commitment can produce."
Amir added, "Thank you for being here, for being part of our journey. This day would not be complete without you."
As the night wore on, Amir and Leo found a quiet moment to themselves, away from the festivities. They stood on a balcony overlooking the gardens, the sounds of celebration drifting up to them.
"Today was perfect," Amir said, his voice filled with contentment. "I couldn't have asked for more."
Leo wrapped an arm around Amir, pulling him close. "It's just the beginning, my love. Our journey together has only just begun."
Amir looked up at Leo, his eyes filled with love. "I'm so grateful to have you by my side. You are my everything, Leo."
Leo leaned down, capturing Amir's lips in a tender kiss. "And you, Amir, are my heart. But I guess you already know that."
"You might mention it a few times a day. It doesn't get old though. I just worry I'll not be able to keep up. I need you to know I feel the same way every day and with every breath I take.
The weeks following the wedding were filled with joy and new beginnings. Amir and Leo settled into their roles as leaders and partners, their love continuing to inspire those around them. They dedicated themselves to the kingdom, working side by side to create a future filled with peace and prosperity.
