Chapter One

"Who the fuck is Brielle Bradshaw?" I ask as I walk into my Mom's prospering bed and breakfast, The Nestled Inn. Jake and I have been "working" here for as long as I can remember. My parents, Bud and Janine, recently retired to Florida but still "run" everything from Daytona. Jake and I divided and conquered here. He's a chef, so he takes care of inside. Since I've been running my own landscaping business for two years now, I take care of all the maintenance in and around the property.

"You don't know who Brielle Bradshaw is?" my twin brother, Jake, asks from his place behind the reception desk. He barely glances up from the comic book he's reading, but even so, I know he's rolling his eyes at me.

"No, that's why I asked who the fuck she was, asshole."

"She's an actress. Super famous."

"Why is she here?"

"Do you not pay attention to anything happening in the world?" he asks, chuckling.

"No. So are you gonna tell me why she's here or not?"

"She's filming a movie in the bayou."

"So why did Mom send me a list of things I can and cannot do while she's here?"

"She's staying here for six months while filming. She bought out every room for herself."

"She'll be the only guest?"

"Apparently, she requires complete solitude for her creative process. The rest of the cast and crew are over at the Pine Grove Lodge."

"She seems like shes going to be high maintenance," I retort, rolling my eyes.

"Nah, she didn't ask for anything special, just silence. I can do that, no problem."
