41. Wes
Chapter forty-one
Wes
February
I t’s a nippy sixty-one degrees out today in the city and while I would rather be at home, curled up in bed with Layne, we’re at Atlas’s house for a cookout. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve come to actually like Atlas, and his family is pretty great. A very welcoming group of people. Even Atlas’s boyfriend Sky is a decent dude. The moment I walked into her home, his mother, Lorna, throws her arms around me.
“Thank you so much for loving our girl.” She whispers in my ear, squeezing me tight.
Nobody, not even Layne, understands how much it means to me that she’s mine. Her love and acceptance of me has saved me more than she realizes.
“Thank you for loving her, too.” I squeeze her back, my voice cracking from the emotions. “For when I wasn’t there to love her yet.”
Fuck, I will not cry at this woman’s house .
I look over and see Layne talking with Sky and Atlas, a huge grin plastered on her face as she gives them a PG-13-rated synopsis of our Christmas. Her eyes find mine and while Lorna drags me by my hand to the kitchen to meet more of Atlas’s family, she bites her lip playfully. I have to hold back the urge to drag her off to the bathroom and fuck the shit out of her, because how awkward would that be? Layne’s inability to be quiet would surely lead to us getting caught.
Lorna introduces me to more of Atlas’s family and I can’t help but feel joy and a bit of frustration. Joy, because being surrounded by this loving and accepting family makes me appreciate how lucky I am to have Layne in my life. Frustration, because the desire to be alone with her is almost unbearable.
I try to focus on the conversation and engage with Atlas’s family, but my mind keeps drifting back to Layne. Her playful gaze, her mischievous smile, and the way she effortlessly captivates everyone around her. I can’t help but think about how incredible she is.
How the fuck did I get so lucky?
But reality sets in, reminding me that this is not the time or place for indulging our desires. We need to maintain some level of decorum, especially in front of Atlas’s family. It’s a challenging task, though, as Layne’s magnetic presence constantly pulls me towards her.
I steal glances at her as we continue mingling with the family. Her laughter fills the air, making my heart swell with happiness. I feel guilty for not being there for her before, but I’ll make it up now. If there is one thing I know, I won’t mess up at being her husband. Whatever connection we have is otherworldly. If I was a sappy fuck, I’d say it was fate, or destiny that brought us together.
Okay, I am a sappy fuck. It was totally fate. She’s the Morticia to my Gomez .
“So Wes, how’s work been?” Atlas asks, taking a sip of his soda as he plops himself down on Sky’s lap. Sky grunts from the sudden drop of weight and gives me a look of frustration.
“It’s been busy, lots of crime in the city.” I offer. I watch Layne in the kitchen, preparing plates of food. Despite my insistence that I could handle it myself, she was determined to get it for me.
“Anything particularly juicy been going on?” Atlas wiggles his eyebrows.
Jesus Fucking Christ, could he be more subtle?
“Nah, just work and waiting for April to get here to get here so I can take Layne on a much needed honeymoon.” I scoot over on the couch, making room for Layne as she walks over with the plates. She hands one to me and it’s piled high with various things.
“Thanks baby.” I lean over and whisper, taking in the contents of the plate. “Did you think I was starving?”
“That was all Atlas’s mom. She says you’re too skinny.” She giggles, stabbing a piece of a hot link with her fork and holding it out to me.
“I am not.” I give a puzzled look as I bite the hunk of sausage.
Just as I am about to go into how I am a healthy body weight for a twenty-four-year-old man who is over six feet tall, the doorbell rings. Layne shoves her plate into my empty hand and shoots up. Atlas does the same. I look over at Sky and wonder what’s going on.
“Atlas’s sister. She just had a baby last month, and this is the first time they are coming over.”
The squealing that comes from the entryway makes Sky and I wince. Atlas comes around the corner with an infant’s car seat and sets it down on the coffee table. He unbuckles the baby, pulling them out and holding him to his chest. Layne has this look on her face that I am trying to decipher. I’ve never seen her look like this.
It’s almost like she’s fallen in love .
“Ohhhhh, he smells so good.” Atlas takes a big sniff. “Sky, we are so gonna need one of these soon.”
Sky chokes on his beer and Layne lets out a chuckle. Atlas’s sister walks into the room with a man trailing behind her. “You can babysit anytime you want, Atty. Lord knows we are going to need someone trustworthy when Cole goes back to work in a few weeks. All the night exhibits were are going to have to host.” She winks at Sky.
Sky shakes his head. “Nina, good to see you.”
“Back at cha!” She smiles, then turns to me, extending her hand. “And who are you?”
I set Layne and I’s plates down on the coffee table and stand. “Wes, I’m Layne’s husband.”
Shaking her hand and then the man, who introduces himself as Nina’s husband, Cole. We all exchange pleasantries and settle back into our seats, the baby now nestled in Atlas’s arms. Layne sits back down next to me, her eyes still fixed on the infant. I can see the longing in her gaze, a desire to start a family of our own.
Fucking yes, let do this baby!
Atlas and Sky engage in a lively discussion about work, while Layne and I share a quiet moment. I reach out and take her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. “Cute baby, huh?” She gives me a telling look. I bring her hand to my lips and place a soft kiss on it. “Soon, baby. I promise soon that’s gonna be you holding our baby.”
She smiles warmly at me, her eyes shining with love and trust. “I know, Wes.”
The evening continues with laughter and joy, as we all enjoy the delicious food prepared by Atlas’s mother. The baby’s coos fill the air, and finally it’s Layne’s turn to hold him. Nina coaches Layne on how to support his head. I sit back and watch my wife hold this little boy. It takes everything in me to not grab her and haul her ass to the car to fill up her pussy with my cum .
If I didn’t have a breeding kink before, I fucking do now.
Okay, who the fuck do I think I’m kidding? I have the biggest breeding kink. It’s a primal need to see Layne barefoot and pregnant with my kids.
Atlas chuckles and raises an eyebrow at me. I must have been staring hard because he clears his throat. “Looks like someone’s catching the baby fever,” he teases. I roll my eyes playfully and give him a smirk.
“Just admiring the beauty of a woman holding a baby,” I reply, my voice filled with warmth. Layne glances up at me. The joy in her eyes tells me everything I need to know. “There’s nothing more beautiful.”
Eventually, it’s time to say our goodbyes. Atlas and Sky give their thanks to Atlas’s mother for the wonderful meal. Layne and I stand up, ready to head home. As we walk hand in hand towards the door, Layne leans her head against my shoulder. “This was so nice,” she whispers, her voice filled with contentment.
I press a gentle kiss to her forehead and reply, “Yes, it was. And soon, we’ll have our own little one to share these moments with.”
We step out into the cool night air, walking back to the car. Layne’s hand finds mine, intertwining our fingers together. A sense of hope fills my heart. I feel that our journey towards starting a family has just begun, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have Layne as the woman I do this with.
“Come on Ma Petite Mort , let’s get you home so I can put a baby in you.“ I lean in and nip at her earlobe.
