Chapter 20

H ow titillating! While Thomas had lavished attention on her nipples, she hadn't been able to use her mouth on him.
Tricia hid the papers away again inside her valise.
Surely she'd be able to put Thomas in her mouth at some point. Lady Portia had done so, yet she hadn't done the deed with either of her suitors.
But goodness… Two men!
The idea had merit on paper, but it was certainly unseemly, and Tricia had no interest. She wanted only Thomas.
As luck would have it, when Lily had escorted her to her bedchamber, Katrina was not there. Trudy was, and she said that Katrina had gone with Lady Clementine to have tea with the countess, and they hadn't yet returned.
"I shall return at seven to help you dress for dinner," Trudy had said.
"That would be lovely, Trudy. Thank you."
"Do you require anything more at this time?"
"Not that I can think of." Then her stomach let out a growl. She had missed tea. "Perhaps a light meal, Trudy."
"Right away, my lady." Trudy curtsied quickly and left the bedchamber.
That was when Tricia got out the next episode of The Perils of Portia .
A soft knock on the door alerted Tricia to Trudy's presence once again. She brought in a tray containing two scones, clotted cream, and delicious-looking marmalade along with a small pot of tea.
"Thank you, Trudy."
"Of course." She curtsied again.
When Tricia was alone once more, she broke the scone and spread clotted cream on one half, marmalade on the other. She took a bite and ended up eating it quickly. She was so very hungry.
Goodness, what she and Thomas had done certainly worked up a healthy appetite.
She poured herself some tea, added just a soup?on of milk, and took a sip, letting the warmth float over her tongue.
When she finished, she went back to The Perils of Portia .
