Chapter 15
Orzesh
As we made our way through the chaos of the prison, I struggled to focus on anything but her. The beautiful mate that now moved by my side. She was ferocious. She had won the battle with the hyena guard in her own human way but with orc spirit. Then she had fought me hard in the mating fight and made claiming her the most perfect moment of my life. If we hadn”t needed to get out of here while we had the chance, I”d have had her again and again until she couldn”t take any more.
The fight to leave wasn”t too difficult. I swung my axe a few times to clear the way and Bloodletter stayed close to my Uk”lah and attacked anyone who got too close to her. It filled me with pride to see them together. She led us out of an emergency exit, which took a few blows to break through. I gave her a pointed look as it broke. Then we were free. We ran through the trees to the lake laughing together. The rain was falling, and it was glorious. It had been so long since I had been drenched in rain. Once at the lake we gathered with others, and I took them to my tribe. It was several days of hard travel, but the journey was made lighter by getting to run in the trees after my mate to pin her down and claim her repeatedly. I would never tire of that. In her body, her fire and her laugh, I was complete.
