Chapter 4
I ’m nearly twice the size of the insignificant wolf in front of me, and he knows it. The crowd gasps with our shift and they look upon my magnificence.
“Chill the ego,” Silas, the man, whispers.
I roll my eyes and dig a paw into the dirt. The man thinks he’s in charge, but I just let him think that. We both know that I’m the superior being in this partnership.
Everyone in this pack is about to know the same thing.
I’m nothing if not a complete Alpha wolf. There will be no one above me. It’s all or nothing with this pack. Especially if I’m going to impress my mate. I can feel that she’s close, and she deserves nothing but the best.
I can feel Silas’ irritation with me, but I ignore him, as I do when I’m in my true form.
The other wolf attacks. What an idiot.
I dodge him and bite his hind leg, making him yip and tuck his tail between his legs.
What a pussy.
I spin, using my size to my advantage as I sink my teeth into his neck. He whimpers and cries as his blood fills my mouth.
“Keep him alive,” Silas says and I sigh.
He always ruins my fun.
I place a paw on the gray wolf's head as he shifts back into a man; I relent. The medics immediately grab him and put pressure on his throat. I howl into the star filled night sky as the pack descends on their knees.
That’s right, bow to your new Alpha.
“Christ,” Silas complains and I can feel he’s about to take over.
I let out one last victory howl before I regretfully shift back into the man.
