VIVIAN

Vivian

I threw my mascara in my makeup bag and picked up my lipstick just as I heard footsteps enter the bedroom outside the bathroom.

"Babe?" my husband called out for me.

Leaning away from the mirror, I replied, "Yeah?"

"I got you a—" Dominick stopped mid-sentence when he reached the threshold.

I met his eyes through the mirror as they scanned my half-naked body, covered in only a bra and a skirt. "What did you get me?" I prompted.

He shook himself out of his trance and approached me from behind. "I got you a present, but now, I'm having second thoughts about giving it to you." Wrapping a tattoo-covered arm around my waist, he yanked our bodies together. "You look so fucking delicious."

I knew I should finish getting ready. We had an important event to get to, but Dominick always had a way of making me want him even if the man wasn't trying, so I tilted my butt up and rubbed against his already-hard cock.

"Jesus," he whispered and nuzzled my neck. "Are you ever not going to turn me on?"

"You say that like it's a bad thing."

"It's not, but we have places to be and no time to fuck." His groan sounded like it was half from frustration and half with lust.

"As I recall, I didn't turn you on when I made partner."

Dominick straightened and frowned into the mirror. "That's because you were going to turn it down. After everything you'd done to achieve it." He shook his head like he couldn't believe I'd ever considered the idea.

"That's because I didn't—"

Behind me, he tilted his head and raised his eyebrows in warning.

I rolled my eyes. "That's because I felt like I hadn't earned it. I thought I'd only gotten it because my friend is married to one of the name partners."

"But you know you did earn it because Delaney told you several times she never asked Preston to make you partner, and Preston also told you that it wasn't just up to him. The other partners had voted you in." Dominick hated it when I even hinted that I didn't deserve my partnership. "But I still wanted you. I just also wanted to spank some sense into you."

"Nice," I said flatly.

He grinned. "It's true. You are one stubborn woman, Vivian Stern Reyes."

"You're right. That's why I deserved my raise."

" Ha ," he yelled as he pointed a finger into the mirror. "So, you do think you deserved it." He shook his head in mock sadness. "It's a shame you had to lie to me again. Sometimes, I think you like getting in trouble so you can be punished by me."

I smirked. Getting "in trouble" with Dominick meant I lost my underwear privileges. Of course, if I really wanted to wear them, I would, but a part of me liked my "punishment." Not only did it turn my husband on, but it turned me on too.

Swinging around, I moved to face him. "I really did worry I'd gotten the partnership for the wrong reasons. And even though you and Delaney and Preston have convinced me otherwise, I do sometimes get that little voice in the back of my head that tells me I'm not good enough."

Dominick's eyes saddened.

"But don't worry. I usually tell it to shut up."

He smiled. "Both of those things are good to hear because I brought you a little present, and I would hate to not be able to give it to you." Lifting a small black bag I hadn't noticed, he handed it to me.

"Ooh, a present." I hastily pulled out the tissue paper top, followed by a pink-and-green piece of fabric. When I unfolded it, I burst out laughing.

"I figured you'd earned a day off from no panties, and I thought they'd be perfect."

The underwear was covered with watermelons, and he was right. They were perfect.

"Thank you, Dom." I leaned close and kissed him to let him know just how much I loved my gift.

He left so I could finish my makeup, and then I followed him into the bedroom to get dressed. After taking off my skirt, I slipped on my new present and headed to our walk-in closet to find jeans. If I was going sans underwear, I preferred skirts so nothing rubbed my skin where it normally didn't, so I was looking forward to wearing pants today.

Inside the closet, I found Dominick wearing boxer briefs to match my panties and a lot of tattoos, and I grinned.

He wiggled his eyebrows at me. "You like?"

"Oh, yes. I love everything I'm seeing." From his large, elaborate tattoos that covered sections of his body down to the small tattoo of his wedding band on his left ring finger. He had insisted on a permanent wedding ring so he could wear it at his job, but the man never needed much of a reason to get more ink. "But I think your skivvies are my favorite. I really like that they match mine."

"Thanks, baby. I do too."

A knock sounded on our door.

"Don't you two need to be leaving?" Spencer, Dominick's brother, asked through the thick wood.

Snatching up Dominick's hand, I checked his watch. "We're going to be late."

"Shit," he muttered before he raised his voice so Spencer could hear. "We'll be out soon. Thanks for letting us know."

Quickly, we finished getting dressed and headed for the front door of our apartment, passing Spencer, who was making himself something to eat in the kitchen.

"Are you sure you don't want to come with us today?" Dominick asked.

Spencer's face fell. "I do, but I really need to finish my paper."

I squeezed his arm in assurance. "We understand. Just make sure you get an A," I joked.

"Just for you," he joked back.

Dominick frowned and grabbed my free hand. "We have to go, babe."

I waved good-bye to Spencer as my husband pulled me out the front door.

"Who's driving?" I asked.

We looked at each other, and both called out, "Me."

Rayne

I finished getting dressed and headed downstairs to find my husband.

"Cade?"

"In the kitchen."

Pivoting away from the living room, I headed in the direction of his voice. "What time do you—"

Strong arms wrapped around me and pulled me close for a deep kiss.

When Cade pulled away, I asked, "What was that for?"

"It's because you look amazingly beautiful today."

I snorted. "You always say that. I highly doubt I look that good every day."

"You do to me."

If I wasn't already head over heels in love with the man, I would be now. "Honey, if you keep flattering me in that way, I'll do whatever you say."

He grinned. "You already do." He ran a finger over the necklace I never removed—and couldn't without Cade's permission or his key to the lock in the back. "Speaking of which …"

I swallowed because I knew we didn't have a lot of time to get to where we needed to go today. But also because I got a rush of excitement and lust whenever he told me what to do in the bedroom—or in this case, bedroom adjacent.

"Do you want me to get on my knees for you?"

"Do you want to get on your knees for me, Rayne?"

I bit my bottom lip.

"Tell me the truth."

"I love you, and I love when you're inside me …"

"But …"

"I still need to eat breakfast, and I don't want to be late. Today is very important."

Cade tilted his head, giving me no clue as to what he was thinking.

"Is that okay with you?" I asked, a little worried he'd be mad at me.

He kissed me again, but this time, it was sweet and gentle. "Baby, you know how much I love when you submit to me, but not at the expense of your spirit or will. I love you much more than your submission."

I grinned, more in love with him than ever. "Then, I'm going to have to give you a rain check because we have somewhere to be."

Chuckling, he stepped back and grabbed my hand, pulling me the rest of the way into the kitchen. "Then, we'd better get my wife fed."

The first thing I noticed was a spread of fruit on the kitchen counter, but before I could look further, I got distracted by my phone vibrating.

"Oh," I said with pleasant surprise after pulling it out of my pocket.

Cade turned around from where he'd been putting food on a plate. "What is it?"

"Beau and Em are going to try to meet up with us later." I smiled. "My parents' plans changed, so now, they can babysit."

On the opening night of the restaurant, just as the doors were being opened for the patrons, Em had muttered the words, "Uh-oh," next to me. The next thing I knew, she took off for the restroom faster than I'd ever seen her move before. And that was basically how I'd found out I was going to be an aunt, and now, I had a beautiful baby niece.

"Hey, that's awesome."

"Yeah. I'm bummed I won't get to see baby Kristin." I stuck out my lip in an exaggerated sad face. "But it's been decided she stays with the grandparents today."

"I agree." Cade handed me the plate he'd been holding in his hands. "Here you go. This is for you." Reaching behind him, he grabbed a fork and stuck it into a slice of watermelon. "Open for me, Rayne."

I had to stop the slow smile spreading across my face and do as he'd commanded.

He set the food inside my mouth, and I wrapped my lips around it as he slowly pulled the fork out. The pink fruit was sweet against my tongue.

"Mmm," I said after I swallowed. "That tastes almost as good as you."

Cade paused mid-stab into another piece of fruit and looked up at me. "You're playing with fire, little girl."

"Ooh, little girl. You know you're only two years older than me."

"Yeah, but in this house, I'm your daddy." He shrugged. "Even if you refuse to call me that. Maybe you're not that submissive to me after all."

Tipping my chin down, I looked up at him through my eyelashes. "You know, if you really want me to call you that, I will. I want to make you happy."

"That's it." He tossed the fork onto the plate and stepped back. "For someone who wants to make me happy, you sure are mean."

I laughed and picked up the silver utensil so I could finish eating my breakfast. "You know I'll make it up to you later."

"Then, maybe I'll think about forgiving you."

I snorted because he wasn't even really mad at me.

Leaning toward him, I planted a kiss on his lips. "You love me."

He smiled. "Yeah, I do." He looked toward the direction of our microwave. "But right now, we need to go."

I glanced in the same direction. "Oh crap, yeah, we do."

Cade started putting away all the food while I finished eating and put my plate in the sink. I'd worry about the dishwasher later.

I beat him to the front door and shoved my feet into my shoes. "Hurry up, husband, or I'm leaving without you," I called out.

Cade came around the corner. "No, you won't," he said with a confident grin as he put on his own shoes, and we headed out the door.

He was right. I didn't want to do today without him.

Delaney

"Thanks again, Mom!"

"You're welcome, honey. Don't worry about us. We're going to have fun today," my mother called back from the window of her car as she pulled out of my driveway.

I waited until they drove out of sight before I headed back into the house to enjoy finishing getting ready for the day without two kids at my feet. Nothing beat being a mother, but that didn't mean I didn't enjoy when Grandma and Grandpa or my sister babysat.

I had barely gone upstairs and into the bathroom when my sexy-as-hell husband walked in from his morning run.

"Saw your mom and the kids as they drove by." Preston tugged his sweaty T-shirt over his head and used it to wipe off his forehead before throwing it in the hamper.

I spun around so I could watch him as he turned on the water in the shower and finished getting undressed. Even with his impressive muscles and gorgeous dick, which knew exactly how to please me, the most beautiful thing on his body was the tattoo of my name over his ribs.

Preston stuck his hand under the flow to check the temperature and pushed the shower door open wider. "Delaney?" he said without turning around. "You keep looking at me like that, and your friends are going to be real disappointed when you don't show up today."

I chuckled. "How did you know? You're not even looking at me."

"I can always feel when your eyes are on me, baby."

And with that, he got into the shower, and I finished my makeup before heading to our bedroom to get dressed. After choosing comfortable jeans and a sweater to wear, I moved on to jewelry. I opted out of wearing a necklace today because, sometimes, it felt nice to wear less on the weekends.

Preston came out of the steamy bathroom just as I was putting my new earrings in. Coming up behind me, he brushed one side of my hair off my shoulder and kissed my neck. His skin was warm, and he smelled like soap and man. I wanted to turn around and attack him.

"Those are cute. When did you get them?" he asked, referring to the watermelon studs in my ears.

"Just the other day. I wasn't even looking for them, but they popped up in my news feed, and I couldn't resist. They also had a matching necklace and bracelet, but I decided to just get the earrings. I did consider the clitoral barbell though."

Preston slowly lifted his head while I tried not to smile. His reflection showed he didn't have that problem because his expression was nothing but serious. "I'm glad you didn't because that would have been a waste of money since you'd never wear it."

"What? It would have only been for a day. And it's good to show support."

He wrapped his arms around me in a hug. "So, you're saying it's for a good cause?"

"Yes. Exactly."

One large palm brushed down my front until it reached the top of my jeans. "Except no one would see it. Because"—undoing the top with a quick flip, he opened my pants and slid his hand inside my underwear—"this pussy is"—his fingers caressed my piercing—"mine."

My breath hitched, and I widened my legs, hoping he'd keep touching me.

"Right, Delaney?" he whispered in my ear.

"Yes, baby. It's yours. Please—"

He yanked his hand from my jeans.

" No . That's not fair," I whined as Preston got dressed.

He grinned at me and kissed me. "Neither is teasing me about taking my jewelry out." He zipped and buttoned my pants for me. "But just think, your parents have the kids until tomorrow, so we get to spend all night doing whatever we want."

Wrapping my arms around his neck, I smiled. "Good argument, St. James. But it doesn't mean I'm going to rule in your favor."

Preston laughed. "When it comes to getting you naked, I always win."

I sighed in defeat. "You're right, but that's because you always deliver some pretty convincing orgasms." I slid my hands off his neck and down to his chest. "Shall we get going? We don't want to be late."

Lifting my hand over my head, I scanned the parking lot as a car pulled in. Vivian got out of the driver's side and Dominick from the passenger side. She waved at me, and the two started toward Preston and me as another vehicle pulled in. The window rolled down, and Rayne stuck her hand out and waved.

Vivian and I hugged while Rayne and Cade walked up, and then I hugged her too.

"Thanks for inviting us here today, Delaney," Vivian said.

"I mean, I only told you about it. I had nothing to do with organizing it. But whoever did, it looks like they did a great job."

We all turned to admire the huge crowd of people assembled on the lawn.

I looked up at Preston. "Thanks for coming with me."

"Same here," Vivian said to Dominick.

"Thanks, honey," Rayne said to Cade.

Preston took my hand and squeezed. "Of course, Laney. You're stuck with me now."

I grinned. "Attached by love."

"Damn straight," Dominick said, and we all chuckled.

Our attention once again returned to the gathering of people brought together for an excellent cause.

Rayne took a deep breath. "Shall we head over there?"

Cade put his hand on her shoulder. "Let's do this."

"I love you," I told Preston.

He smiled down at me with admiration in his eyes. "I love you too, Laney."

And with that, Preston and I led the way toward the crowd of protestors, hoping that our six voices could help make a change in the future of tomorrow.
