Chapter 23

CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

Rule number 75 - Training - A feeder should be provided with adequate training to better support their client. This includes the client’s likes and dislikes, as well as what to expect in the event of an emergency.

Avery was surprised when he heard nothing from Ozen all weekend. And he could admit, he was a little disappointed. He’d deep cleaned his apartment in hopes of Ozen coming to visit again, but Avery’s phone was quiet, and no one came knocking. He attempted to work on his book, but he was too distracted and got nothing decent done with it. By the time Monday rolled around, Avery was worried. Instead of heading to the research floor like he was supposed to, he went to Ozen’s office first to see if he needed to feed earlier, since he skipped all weekend.

Mrs. Sable was already there, working diligently at her desk. She smiled when Avery stepped into the office, her relaxed disposition still visible after a month of vacation.

“Good morning, Avery. How was your weekend?”

“Fine, thank you. I, uh… I came to check in with Mr. Hawksley. He hasn’t fed since Friday, and–”

The office door jerked open without warning and a seething Ozen glared at them both. Avery’s mouth fell open in surprise, but he didn’t get a moment to ask what was wrong before Ozen stepped back and gave him a pointed look. Avery jumped to follow orders, scurrying into Ozen’s office. He didn’t have time to blink before Ozen grabbed his arm and spun him, shoving his back against the door the second it closed fully.

“O-Ozen, what–”

Ozen cut him off with his teeth on Avery’s neck. The sting was sharp, but it was right on the spot that made Avery melt. He moaned, tipping his head to give Ozen more room. It was like a switch was flipped and all Avery could think about was sex. He lost all sense of himself, completely at Ozen’s mercy as he fumbled with Avery’s clothes until he could reach Avery’s cock. Avery cried out in surprise at the rough treatment, his fingers digging into Ozen’s arms. It didn’t hurt, Ozen wouldn’t hurt him, but it was more rough than usual, almost like the first day that Avery noticed Ozen was starving.

Avery forced his eyes open, looking at Ozen’s face. The fangs were back, and his eyes were blood red and wild. Avery watched as Ozen tore open his own zipper, releasing his cock. His movements weren’t normally so uncontrolled. Avery opened his mouth to ask, but then Ozen fisted both their cocks together and Avery could only make a strangled sound, his eyes rolling into his head at the first stroke.

Avery could always feel when Ozen’s magic latched onto him. It usually happened right away, as Avery’s eagerness seemed to feed Ozen just as much as his arousal did. This time it took a minute. Ozen was too distracted. When he finally latched on, the pleasure that slammed into him was too much, and Avery came without warning. His cock pulsed in Ozen’s hand and the incubus groaned, thrusting more forcefully into the ring of his hand, his ribbed cock massaging Avery’s oversensitive skin. It bordered on painful, and Avery whimpered in response.

Without warning, Ozen spun him around, shoving Avery’s front against the door. When he jerked Avery’s hips back, Avery’s breath stuttered in his chest. They hadn’t gotten to full penetration yet, and Avery wasn’t sure he was comfortable with the idea of his first time being up against the door. Thankfully, Ozen was coherent enough to not push the issue. Instead, he thrust his cock against Avery’s ass, rubbing through his cheeks as he got himself off. It felt good, really good, and Avery’s fingers fisted against the door as he moaned and writhed.

Ozen’s growl grew louder with each thrust, and the hairs on the back of Avery’s neck stood on end. It sounded almost threatening. When his arousal faltered a little, Ozen reached around him, stroking his cock in time with his thrusts. Avery groaned, losing himself in the pleasure, and he quickly returned to full hardness with Ozen’s fierce attention.

“O-Ozen, I–”

The warmth of Ozen’s release splashed across Avery’s cheeks, surprising him, and Avery’s entire body lit up in response. The knowledge that he sent the incubus over the edge before Avery could finish the second time like Ozen wanted was heady, and it took only a few more strokes of Ozen’s hand for Avery to follow after him, his cum splashing on the door.

Avery barely stayed on his own two feet, being trapped between the door and Ozen’s body the only reason he was upright. The mixture of shock, pleasure, and confusion swirled in his mind as he fought for breath. It wasn’t until Ozen started kissing along Avery’s neck that Avery felt brave enough to speak.

“A-Are you okay? That was–”

“Unexpected. I know. I apologize.” Ozen shifted, pulling Avery’s back against his front to support his weight as he moved Avery away from the door. “My doctor says I’m healthy and no longer suffering from the effects of starvation, but my attempt to go back to how things were backfired. I was starved by the time you showed up this morning, and I couldn’t control myself.” He looked Avery over with a worried frown. “Are you alright? Did I hurt you?”

“No, no. You didn’t hurt me. Just surprised me.”

He said that, but he was more tired than usual after a feeding, his body like jello, unable to support itself. Ozen picked up on that and carefully scooped Avery into his arms, moving him to the couch. He used his magic to clean Avery up and situated Avery’s clothes for him, since Avery’s arms felt like dead weights.

Now that Avery could see his face, Ozen looked a little better. Less dangerous, at least. His eyebrows were pinched in concern, and his mood didn’t seem much better, but the fangs were gone and his eyes were back to normal again. He did seem distracted, though.

“I’m afraid I have a meeting to get to. I’ll have Collette bring you a snack. It’ll help get your energy back.”

When Ozen stood, Avery was surprised. He reached out, gripping the corner of Ozen’s sleeve, confusion swirling through his muddled senses.

“W-Wait… You said quick sessions didn’t give you what you needed. Are you sure you’ll be alright? If you’re hungry, you really should eat.”

For a moment, Ozen’s tight expression softened before he brushed Avery’s hand away. “I appreciate your concern, but unfortunately, I’m too busy. Taron is away this week, and I’m picking up the slack of his absence. Quick sessions are better than nothing. I’ll be fine.”

He gave Avery no room to argue and marched out the door before he could even open his mouth. Avery’s mind felt turbulent. He was obviously dismissed, and he didn’t want to come off as pushy or demanding, but Ozen told him multiple times that the longer the session, the stronger he felt afterwards. Their session this morning wasn’t even five minutes long. Yes, Avery came twice, but was it truly enough? Especially if Ozen said he was starving over the weekend? He’d thought once the frenzy was over that they’d go back to the feeding room like before.

He wasn’t sure what to do. He was a temp, he knew how to adapt to new situations, but being a feeder was outside his realm of expertise. He didn't know where the line was and how best to do his job when Ozen was telling him to leave it be. Did he push? Did he ignore the fact that Ozen was basically starving this morning? He didn’t even know who he could ask.

A sharp knock on the door made him look up and Mrs. Sable bustled in with a tray of snacks and a bottle of water. Her smile was warm, and she offered him a hand to help him sit up better before sitting next to him and handing him the bottle.

“How are you feeling?”

“Tired,” Avery answered honestly. “I’m not usually this tired afterwards.”

It felt awkward to talk about in front of her, but she didn’t seem disturbed by the conversation. She nodded in understanding, offering him a cookie from the tray she brought in.

“Sugar will help. Quick sessions can often be exhausting for the feeder. If Mr. Hawksley is in a rush, he’ll draw out energy too quickly, and your body will suffer the effects of it. It’s why he doesn’t like to rush. It’s safer for you if he takes his time. Unfortunately, this week is going to be difficult for you both. His schedule is hectic when Taron is gone, and he will be working late most nights to keep up. A few minutes here and there is all he’ll have time for.”

Avery blinked a few times. Ozen told him that longer sessions were to make sure Ozen got what he needed. He never said anything about it being for Avery’s benefit. It was almost as if he knew Avery would protest taking up too much of his time just to keep his energy levels up when Ozen was busy.

“How long will Mr. Cunningham be gone?”

“At least a week. He had to return home. Many supernaturals return to their home realms when something regarding their magic comes up. I do it every few years for a boost. That’s why you were covering for me.”

He knew that part, at least. He felt like he was constantly playing catch up with supernaturals and their abilities, but he never complained about that. He enjoyed learning new things, and he didn't hold it against himself for being different. It’s just who he was born to be.

“Is there anything I can do to help? I’m temping in research right now, but I can call my work and find someone to cover me if you need me up here instead.”

Mrs. Sable smiled. “You’re a good man, Avery. I’m glad Mr. Hawksley can rely on you as his feeder. Right now, the best thing you can do is your job. If the research team is floundering and not getting the work done in time, the fallback will be on Mr. Hawksley. You doing your job will keep some stress off him at least. And showing up for your sessions on time will help. I understand you normally meet after lunch?”

“Yes, but if he’s that busy, it might be better to meet first thing. I can come in before my work day starts so I don’t interrupt his schedule.” Avery’s brows drew together. “Though, if I’m this exhausted after each session, it might make doing my job a little difficult. I’m supposed to be downstairs soon, but I’m not sure my knees can support me yet.”

She patted his knee reassuringly and nudged the cookie in his hand to get him to take another bite. “I already called down and let them know where you were. They understand. Your job as a feeder supersedes your job as a temp. They have to accommodate you since you’re literally feeding someone else. With a little sugar, we can get you back on your feet again. As for tomorrow, let me look at the schedule. If necessary, we can plan your sessions during lunch and I’ll have something waiting for you when you’re finished. That way, you can recuperate while you eat.”

“Mr. Hawklsey prefers if I eat before,” Avery argued. “He said it will keep my energy up.”

It would take some finagling to get the right timing for a session now that Avery didn’t work upstairs. If he was still Ozen’s assistant, he’d be able to initiate a session whenever Ozen had an opening. Now that they had to work around both their schedules, it was more difficult. Mrs. Sable promised she’d help him figure it out and sat with him until he felt like he could move on his own again. It was a little disconcerting to be that exhausted after a session. Avery wished Ozen would’ve warned him about that particular side effect.
