I stare at my sister and I'm pretty sure I'm gaping at her like a beached fish. "I had completely forgotten that was this weekend."

She winces. "I know. Terrible timing and I'm sorry."

I reach over and squeeze her hand. "Don't apologize. You didn't do anything. And this is my business too, so it makes sense that I'll be the one to go."

Natalie is chewing on the inside of her cheek.

"I suppose I could just tell them that my fiancé got sick and couldn't come at the last minute."

"No, we definitely need two of you there. It's in the information when you register."

"Well, I haven't been here long enough to meet too many guys, but surely Linc has a friend who will go."

Natalie grins down at her phone. "Actually, we already have someone who volunteered."

I'm almost afraid to ask. "Okay. Who?"

"Just remember that this is our dream and you're highly motivated." She gives me a toothy grin.

"Um … okay."

"It's only one weekend. You can do anything for a weekend, right?"

I narrow my gaze at her. "You're scaring me, Nat. Um … who is it who's going with me???"

"Landry."

"Oh, hell no."

"Come on, Manhattan, it'll be fun," he says from the doorway. He's leaning there, that damn baseball cap facing backwards, and he's got a shit-eating grin on his stupid handsome face.

"It absolutely will not be fun." I look at my sister and will her to hear my unspoken pleas. "Are you sure there isn't anyone else?"

"Ouch," he drawls.

"It's actually perfect for Landry to go," Natalie says. "Because it's his and Greyson's construction company that will be building everything for us."

As much as I stubbornly don't want to admit it, she is right. I glare at him. "This is a work trip. And you will behave."

He holds his hands up like he's innocent. "I always behave."

"Ha! That's hilarious." I shake my head. "This is such a bad idea."
