CHAPTER TEN

LILY

I’m lying in bed next to Blake.

We’ve been holed up in his apartment all day. I never imagined all the different ways you can have sex. We ended up doing it in every room of the apartment. I think the biggest turn-on for me was doing it up against the full-length windows, with me plastered against them and Blake taking me from behind. I didn’t know that I was an exhibitionist until then, and it got me thinking.

I mention to Blake we should consider checking out a sex club. The look on his face is priceless. He vetoes that in a second; he isn’t ever allowing another man to see me naked, and that’s final. I like how possessive he is of me. I didn’t want to do it in front of anybody. I guess the knowledge of someone possibly seeing us is what turns me on the most.

I lie in bed feeling exhausted, yet peaceful. I enjoy spending time with Blake. We don’t just have sex all day. We also talk and get to know each other better, sharing tidbits about our lives. For such a short time together, we’ve shared a lot. I find that I like him more and more all the time.

Tomorrow, I need to take care of a few things. The first is to make the hard call to my dad. They have been very understanding about the whole wedding fiasco. I do have to call Jenny to let her know that I’m fine and I’ll see her tomorrow.

I slide out of bed, trying not to wake Blake. I grab one of his T-shirts to wear. That’s all I’ve been wearing, well, that or nothing at all. I left my purse by the elevator doors. While I’m rummaging through it to locate my phone, the elevator dings. I wonder who’s here. I need to get back to the bedroom. I’m covered, but I don’t have a bra or underwear on. I don’t get far.

"You don’t need to go anywhere. Stay, have fun with us."

It sounds like someone gets hit and groans.

"What did you do that for?" a man asks.

"Because you are an idiot," the other answers.

I slowly turn around and see two well-dressed guys watching me. They are both handsome. They must be Blake’s brothers. There is a strong resemblance between the three; actually, they could be triplets. They all look that much alike.

"Thanks, but I think I’ll head back to the bedroom. I’ll get Blake for you." I step back and run into a wall. The wall puts a robe around me and then speaks, "What are you two doing here?"

Blake pulls me close while talking to his brothers. I notice he’s had time to put on a pair of shorts before joining us.

The one brother, who seems a little unsteady, falls into one of the living room chairs before addressing his question.

"Our little sister said you had a guest, and you two seemed close."

The other brother hasn’t said anything or moved; he’s just watching us. He’s trying to figure me out. I don’t like it. I try to move away from Blake, but he won’t let me leave.

"I thought she would spill a little sooner. Lily, I would like to introduce you to my brothers. The one thinking about passing out on the chair is Rob."

Rob gives me a grin and wave.

"The big guy just staring at us is Noah." He still hasn’t spoken.

I give a nervous little smile. I don’t know how to act in this situation, meeting one’s brothers in less-than-stellar form.

"Nice to meet you," I tell them, standing awkwardly beside Blake.

"You know if sis spilled it to us, it’s only a matter of time before Mom and Dad will be wanting introductions," Noah finally says.

I don’t know about Blake, but I don’t think there is any reason to meet the parents. I don’t even know what this is yet. Especially when I just left my fiancé. I need to figure things out first.

"They will have to wait. We’re going to visit Lily’s parents tomorrow."

My head whips around. Did I hear him right?

"I don’t think that’s necessary," I finally stutter out.

I know I need to talk my parents about Ted, but I think it’s best to do it alone. I actually thought about doing it over the phone, so I can’t see my dad’s disapproval. If Blake comes with me, the horror, I don’t know what they will think, but it won’t be good.

"Are you sure about tomorrow? I think I really need to do this on my own," I tell Blake. At this point, I forget about the brothers watching us.

Blake takes hold of my shoulders.

"I know you. You won’t tell them everything, and Ted will look like an angel."

"If you come, it might complicate things." I give a huff. I don’t need my parents thinking that I was seeing him on the side.

"We will explain to them that we didn’t meet until after you cancelled the wedding. It will be fine."

I rest my forehead against his chest. I know I won’t win this.

"Whose wedding? What are you guys talking about?"

I jump. I forgot about the brothers. I turn around. Noah is standing closer to us. He doesn’t look happy.

Fudge!

"Lily left her ex at the altar when she found out he had been cheating on her. I met her that night. End of story."

Blake tightens his arms around me as his brother keeps scowling at us.

"My ex is harassing me, so I’m staying here at Blake’s place," I supply the explanation for me being here.

Now both of the brothers are staring at me, open-mouthed. Yes, this is my life. I don’t know where it took a turn to Crazy Town. A week ago, I led the most boring life. Now it’s turned upside down. I’m living with a guy who I only met a couple of days ago. I should be freaking out, but I’m not. It feels right to be with Blake.

Blake pulls away from me. "Guys, it’s late. Lily and I are going to have a busy day tomorrow. We need to get some sleep."

He makes both of them leave, saying he’ll talk to them tomorrow.

"Do they barge in like that often?" I ask.

I’m glad we weren’t doing anything out here in the open when they showed up. It’s bad enough they caught me dressed the way I was.

Blake says nothing. I don’t know if he heard me.

"They don’t respect anyone’s privacy. They are getting better, though, now that Noah is married. We can’t go up to his floor without texting first. I will have a talk with them about doing that with us, too. So, no surprises."

He pulls me closer, and we head back to the bedroom. I’m exhausted. I’m not looking forward to tomorrow. I guess it’s time to pull the Band-Aid off.
