Chapter 17

CHAPTER 17

***ARCHIE***

A rchie's head was spinning, trying to catch up with what was happening and not doing a very good job of it, but as he looked down into Felicity's eyes, he soaked up her acceptance like a starving man. The love he felt for her warmed him from the inside out, and he knew that he'd never love anyone the way he loved Felicity. He silently thanked fate, the island, and anyone else listening that she was in his arms.

"You're not scared," he finally said. "You don't think I'm a monster."

"Oh, sweetheart, you're incredible," she said. "Thank you for trusting me."

"You're my life, Felicity. My heart belongs to you, and I had to trust you," he asked, smiling down at her. "And now that I've shown you all of me, I think it's your turn."

"Oh, you think so," she said. "I don't know, this isn't a dream anymore, you might not like the real me."

"I don't think there's any chance of that," he said. "But you're wrong. This is a dream, a dream come true."

She smiled at him, "You have a way with words, Dr. Robinson. Did you know that?" she asked. Now kiss me and stop talking. We've talked enough for now."

"My pleasure," he said, pulling her more firmly into his arms, his body already beginning to pound with need. "But I have to warn you, I'm going to make love to you this time, Felicity, right here in the real world."

Felicity sighed as he lowered his mouth to hers and pressed her body up against his, and they were soon swept away by the passion that burned brightly between them. When he'd ravaged her mouth, he kissed his way down her neck, then pulled away and reached for the buttons on her shirt, his hands shaking as he flipped them free. When it slipped off her shoulders, he reached for her breasts, cupping them in his hands and teasing her nipples with his thumb and finger through the fabric.

Felicity moaned deep in her throat, a purr that made his body begin to tingle and tighten, and unable to resist, he flipped open the clasp on her bra and slipped the straps off her shoulders, letting her breasts spill into his hands. When he was finished exploring the pale globes, Felicity was trembling in his arms, her breath coming in short gasps, and he began to throb with need. After stripping his shirt off over his head and stepping out of his shorts, he unbuttoned Felicity's and slid them down her hips, unable to suppress the groan of appreciation as his hands skimmed over her hip and shapely legs.

His hands were itching to touch her, to explore the velvety depths he knew were waiting for him, but he wanted to take his time, wanted to memorize every inch of her body, wanted to taste every luscious curve and valley. Scooping Felicity up into his arms, he carried her over to the soft moss that grew next to the water and gently laid her down, then covered her body with his and kissed her until she was trembling again .

He began his explorations with her breasts, teasing the taut nipples with his teeth and lapping at her then just as she began shifting restlessly under him, he took his time exploring the rest of her body. By the time he slid his hand between her legs and gently pushed them open, Felicity was whimpering and lifting her hips to him, and when he finally slipped a finger between her folds and found her hot, slick, and more than ready for him, he was the one groaning.

Need thundering through him, his already swollen member began to throb, it was all he could do not to take her right then, but he held on, sliding his finger over her sensitive nib until she came apart in his arms, crying out his name. Only seconds after her body stopped trembling, she opened pleasure-filled eyes and looked up at him, and his control slipped just a little more.

Felicity lifted her hips to him, making it even harder to resist, but it was her words that finally did him in. "Please, Archie, I need you now," she said. "I need you inside me, deep inside me."

With a groan that filled the clearing, he slipped between her legs, knowing that he'd never needed anything more than he needed her right then, and drove himself into her with one powerful thrust of his hips. Felicity was hot and wet, her body instantly stretched to accommodate him. She groaned with pleasure, and he buried himself inside her again, reveling in the pure sensation that flooded him.

His control gone, their bodies in perfect rhythm, he took them higher and higher, the physical connection between them forging a much more fragile bond between their souls. They both felt the moment that it happened, and it pulled them both over the edge. He emptied himself inside Felicity as she cried out his name, her own pleasure overwhelming her. He stayed buried deep inside her for several long minutes, his body still throbbing, then collapsed on top of her, hoping he wasn't crushing her, but completely spent.

Felicity wrapped her arms around him and let out a long, contented sigh. They lay that way for a long time, and neither was ready to break the connection between them. When he finally rolled off of her and gathered her into his arms, there were tears glistening in her eyes, and she smiled up at him as a blush spread across her cheeks.

"If I'd known it was going to be like that," she said. "I would have let you do it a lot sooner."

He laughed. "Yeah, if I'd known, you can bet I would have been pushing harder to get into your bed," he said, running his hands up and down her back.

"This isn't much of a bed," she said, wiggling on their mossy cushion. "Not that I'm complaining, I don't think I would have made it all the way home without attacking you."

"Hmmm……. I like the sound of that," he said. "Maybe you could show me how that would go."

***Felicity***

"We really should head home," Felicity said, stretching her arms over her head. "But I'm not sure I can make it all the way back down the trail. My legs feel like jelly."

"Jelly, that makes me think of something," Archie said, nuzzling her neck. "Would you like to know what it is?"

"Archie, don't you start again," she said, giggling when he found a ticklish spot. "It's a long walk home, the sun is going down, and we haven't eaten all day. I'm starving."

"What if we don't walk?" he asked, moving lower and making her gasp. "What if we fly?"

It took his words a second to sink in. "Wait," she said. "Did you just say fly? "

"Yep," he said, moving even lower and spreading her legs. "That's what I said."

She grabbed him and made him stop. "Archie, can you fly?" she asked.

"Yes, sweetheart," he said, grinning at her. "I can soar like an eagle and fly like a bird. It's the feathers, I guess. Now lie still and stop interrupting me, then I'll take you home."

Hours later, they were soaring through the air, the cool night air blowing through her hair, the dragon beneath her so powerful she never even considered being scared. When Archie finally landed on a stretch of beach not far from the village, she jumped off his back onto the hard-packed sand, then hugged him, loving the way his feathers tickled her nose.

They held hands as they walked down the beach, following the smell of food. "I hope no one has been worrying about us," she said. "Brittany told me to take my time, but I don't think she expected me to be gone this long; I should probably go home right away."

"Your sister doesn't like me very much," he said, shrugging his shoulders. "I'm sure this isn't going to help."

"She changed her mind about you, even admitted that she was wrong, which my sister never does, so I wouldn't worry too much," she said, pleased when a smile appeared on his face. "Maybe you two can start over or something. Brittany really is a great person once you get to know her."

"Well, you love her, so I'm going to do my best to get along with her," he said. "What about your parents? Do you think they'll like me?"

"Oh, I wouldn't worry about them," she said. "They're going to love you."

They fell silent for a few minutes, and then she looked over at Archie. "I don't want to spoil the mood," she said. But what are you going to do about Susan and her father? "

He grinned at her. "Max hooked me up with a lawyer who wants to roast them, so I'm going to let him," he said. I haven't talked specifics with him yet; I wanted to settle things with us first. I don't know what he has planned, and I don't care how much money it costs. I'm not going to let them rule my life anymore."

"Good, I think that might be my job now," she said, grinning at him. "And I expect you to have lots of fun, to enjoy all the best things in life, and to share it all with me."

Archie pretended to think about it, "That doesn't sound like a bad deal, but there are a few things I want to add," he said, his face serious. "First, there has to be lots of sex. I won't bend on that one, and I think a house full of kids might be a necessity."

"A house full?" she asked. "Exactly how many are we talking about?"

He laughed. "Oh good, you didn't fight me on the sex thing," he said, then looked over at her. "I was thinking four or five might be nice, but I'm flexible on that one."

"Four or five?" she asked, then shook her head. "Let's table that one for future negotiation. Maybe after the first two, you'll change your mind."

"Oh, come on, don't you want a bunch of baby dragons running around?" he said. "Just think how cute they would be."

Her mouth popped open, "Oh, I didn't think, I mean……" her words trailed off when she saw the laughter in his eyes. "You're terrible, stop teasing me."

"Sorry, I couldn't resist," he said, pulling her into his arms. "There's no guarantee that our kids will be shifters; it's usually the boys who inherit the ability, but it doesn't show up until they hit puberty."

She studied him for a second. "Is that supposed to make me feel better?" she asked. "Have you ever been around a teenager? They're already horrible."

"Don't worry, we'll face it together," he said. "I bet between the two of us, we can handle a dragon-shifting teenager."

They arrived back in the village to find Max and Brittany having dinner together. "Well, look what the cat dragged in," Max said. "I'm assuming since you're together everything went well."

"Buy us dinner, and we'll tell you all about it," Archie said, looking over at her. "Well, there might be a few things we should leave out."

She felt herself blushing. "Archie, stop that," she said. "You didn't have to say that."

"No, we already know how you spent the day," Brittany said, getting up from the table and giving her a hug. "I'm happy for you."

"Thank you," she said. "He's the one."

Brittany turned to Archie. "You'd better take good care of her, or you'll be hearing from me," she said, then waved her hand in the air. "Never mind, you'll be hearing from me all the time anyway."

"I look forward to it," Archie said, holding out his hand. "I hope we can be friends."

Her sister looked down at Archie's hand, then pulled him into a hug. "More like family," she said. "Which means you're stuck with me, buddy."
