14. Levi

Carrying a large silver tray, Levi approached Chase's bedroom but was stopped by the two hulking beasts Matteo called security. If there was one thing about Matteo, he liked to put on a show.

The men he hired for security always had to look the part. They needed to be at least six-foot-four so that they could tower over the average person, and their face must instill fear and intimidation in even the toughest of people.

Have a scar? Bonus points! Have a scar across the face? That's grounds for instant hiring. Nothing said I eat puppies for breakfast, than a nasty-looking scar cut across a man's face. Even more bonus points were awarded if the person spoke with an intimidating accent, preferably German or Russian. No one could argue that a six-foot-four, angry-looking man with a scar cut across his face, shouting at you in German, was not intimidating.

Yes, Matteo knew his shit. He was rich, powerful, and knew how to read people. You didn't get to where he was without having certain skills and resources.

"Where do you think you're going, precious?" the first intimidating hulk of a man—also known as Glenn to Levi—asked. His face was stuck in its permanent scowl position. Birth defect? Levi didn't have the heart to ask.

"Knock it off, Glenn. Your powers of intimidation don't work on me. You forget I've seen you watch The Notebook. I know there's a heart beating somewhere under all that chest hair," Levi teased.

Glenn's cheeks flushed.

"Still, Mr. M said no one in or out," the other member of Matteo's intimidation squad piped up.

Levi turned to Malik, the man who taught him and Isaac origami, and shot him an annoyed look.

"Look, I'm here to clean the guy's wounds and bandage up his cuts. Do you think it's a wise idea to leave his injuries untreated? Ever heard of infections? The last thing we need is to bring a dead guy to a meeting with his boss. That's always great for negotiations."

Both men looked at each other, no doubt wondering what they should do next. They were great with instructions but not so great with independent thought.

"Fine. But be quick," Glenn grumbled, unlocking the door and pushing it open for Levi.

"Thanks, boys," Levi said, blowing them both a kiss.

Yes, he liked to flirt with the big scary men. He'd be lying if he said he hadn't had a dream or two involving both of them taking turns filling him while lying strapped to a bed. Hey, he was a horny, gay man who loved the thought of being ravished by big strong men.

Inside, the room was dark and quiet, save for the moonlight that streamed in through the large bay window. That was the thing about La Maison de M—there was never a bad view in the chateau.

"What are you doing here?" a low voice asked from the dark corner of the room.

Levi walked toward the voice, not knowing how he was going to react when he finally came face to face with the man who had been lying to him… and the man who he was currently falling for.

His head and his heart were shouting two different things, while his body refused to listen to either of them.

His head kept telling him that Chase had lied. He was not who he said he was and should not be trusted, while his heart argued that he didn't know the whole story yet. Chase had been there to protect him against Mr. Stewart and had been nothing but a gentleman to him his entire stay. He owed it to Chase to hear him out.

Then, of course, his body had a mind of its own. His dick kept pulling him toward the big hunky man with firm muscles and the perfect dick, while his ass kept telling Levi he was ready for some action.

Whoever said that life was easy?

"I came to check on your wounds."

"Matteo know you're here?" Chase sat with his back against the wall next to the large bay window.

Light from the moon fell gently across Chase's chiseled face. His upper lip was busted from where ?zgur had clocked him, and his wrists looked bloodied and raw from the chains that held him.

Levi shook his head. "No, he would kill me if he found out I was in here."

"Guess he doesn't like people helping out his captives," Chase grumbled, turning to look out the window.

Chase looked at odds with himself as he stared out the glass. Probably struggling with protecting his boss and his work while not wanting to hurt him and… whatever it was that was beginning to develop between them. Or perhaps that was wishful thinking.

"No. He'd be worried that you'd hurt me or do something worse. Matteo doesn't trust you and is always worried about our safety. He's like an overprotective father."

Levi set the tray down on the floor and opened the bottle of rubbing alcohol. He poured a bit of the solution onto a gauze pad, then began gently cleaning the wounds around Chase's wrists.

Chase clenched his teeth, trying not to react to the stinging of the alcohol. Levi rolled his eyes. Such a guy.

"Here, let me see your face," Levi whispered, moving closer to get a look at Chase's messed-up face. He pressed the wipe against an open wound and cringed when Chase let out a hiss.

Poor guy.

"Remind me to thank your boss for a lovely time this evening," Chase grumbled like a defeated man-child.

Levi pulled away and sat up straight. "Hey! You're the one who came into our home with some made-up story and then tried to steal from my boss." It appeared that his brain was suddenly in control of his body. "If anyone's to blame for the pain you're in, it's you," Levi spat back. He was feeling rather protective of Matteo and didn't appreciate all the hostility this lying man was spewing. "Plus, you lied to me. What the fuck Chase?" Now, his heart was starting to get angry. They had just finished spending a wonderfully romantic day together, only to end it with Chase trying to fuck them over.

Chase grabbed Levi's hand, startling him.

He didn't want to look up for fear that his tears would betray him. More than anything, Levi wanted to believe that Chase was a good guy and that the feelings he thought Chase had toward him were real. He worried that if he looked into Chase's eyes right now, he wouldn't be able to control the emotions that were threatening to spill over him.

Apparently, his body was now back in control and losing its shit.

"I'm sorry that I lied to you," Chase choked out. His voice was soft and gentle. "I never meant to hurt you, and please believe that I am a good guy."

Using all his willpower, Levi raised his eyes to meet Chase's. God, those gentle blue eyes were so warm and inviting. He couldn't help but feel his anger begin to dissipate.

Was he being naive and stupid? He barely knew the man, yet here he was, opening his heart to a man who had lied to him. Staring into those hopeful eyes, his heart kept telling him that he could trust Chase. To give him a chance to explain.

Professionals would think he was crazy for giving in so easily, but there was something in those eyes…

Lowering his head, Levi continued to clean Chase's wounds.

"So, is Chase your real name?"

"Yes."

"And you're a rich cattle farm rancher?"

"No."

Levi stopped and looked up at this mystery man before him. "Okay, so why not start off with that? Who are you, really?"

Chase let out a breath while Levi moved on to the wounds around his arms.

"Well, I'm thirty-two, Canadian, and live in Toronto. I used to work in homicide for the Toronto Police but got fired because my bosses and I didn't see eye to eye."

Levi stopped again and stared at Chase suspiciously.

"That's very ominous."

"Yeah, well, they thought certain people were above the law, and I believed that everyone was equal."

Levi nodded, relieved with his answer. He was worried that Chase was going to say something like he was an international drug smuggler or enjoyed stealing from the elderly. That last one seemed unlikely, given the gentle nature he had encountered so far.

He resumed cleaning Chase's wounds.

"A few months ago, I was approached by a man who had come into possession of a journal. Inside were names of people who had done terrible things. He asked me to join him and his husband on their crusade. So, now, my mission is to find the author of the journal and take down the evil men described in those pages."

Levi stopped again and looked up at Chase.

"And why is it that you think Matteo is involved?"

"We found a logo inside the journal matching the logo for La Maison de M."

"That seems like a far leap," Levi added, skeptical of this whole situation.

"It's a place to start."

Placing the last of the elastic bandages around Chase's wrists, Levi moved his supplies to the side and helped Chase up off the floor.

"You'll be fine after a good night's sleep," Levi said, pulling Chase's shirt off his body and helping him into bed. "Love the sleepwear," Levi mentioned, referring to the flannel sleeping pants that Chase wore.

The pants were covered in all sorts of penises—big, small, yellow, black. If you could think of a cock type, a picture of it was plastered somewhere on the material.

Chase looked down, seeming to forget about his choice of PJs. "Courtesy of Pappa M."

Levi chuckled. Matteo gave out the sleepwear to first-time guests as a sort of thank you for coming!

"Get some sleep. I'll see you in the morning," Levi said, turning to leave the bedroom.

Chase grabbed him by the arm. Startled, he looked from Chase to the door. There was no movement outside.

"Stay?" Chase asked, staring up at him with hopeful eyes.

Levi knew that Matteo would be pissed if he found out that he stayed the night, even after Matteo had given him a direct order. But staring down at this sad, wounded man, Levi wanted nothing more than to spend the night wrapped in Chase's warm, comforting arms.

Taking one last glance over at the door, he struggled internally for only a moment. His brain finally silenced, and his heart and body fell in step.

"Sure thing," he nodded, pulling off his shirt and removing his jeans.

Unlike Chase, Levi wasn't wearing his little penis pants. If Chase wanted him to stay, he would have to sleep next to him in nothing but his underwear. Not that he thought Chase would mind, of course.

Smiling, Chase pulled back the duvet.

"That's not fair. If this is going to be a ‘no pants sleepover,' I'm taking mine off as well."

"It's fine by me," Levi said, nodding over his shoulder as he slid into bed next to the Canadian beefcake.

He turned over just in time to see Chase's bare ass in the air as he used his legs to kick off his sleep pants.

Levi couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"There. That's much better," a naked Chase declared, turning to face Levi with a smug look on his face.

"Hmm, sneaky little man."

Chase looked down at his junk that was already at full mast. "Little?"

Jesus, tonight was going to be a test of wills. Levi shook his head and smirked. "So, do you want to be the big spoon or the little spoon?"

"Definitely the big spoon. Sorry, babe, but I like my guys wrapped in my arms."

"You do realize that if Matteo comes in, he will probably cut off your balls, no questions asked," Levi said, reminding them of the danger this little sleepover presented.

He hoped that Glenn and Malik would keep their mouths shut and not rat him out. He would have to get them something special for covering his ass—perhaps a bottle of scotch or a big bottle of lube. He'd worry about that when he wasn't lying beside a hunky naked man with a raging boner attached.

"No, he'd probably send in one of his goons to do it for him," Chase corrected.

Well, he wasn't wrong there. "Yeah, you're probably right. Why ruin an expensive suit with Canadian blood."

Levi slid in next to Chase as the man gave a chuckle. He turned so that his back was facing Chase and rested his head on Chase's extended arm. A second later, he found himself being pulled backward until his body was firmly pressed into Chase's muscular body.

He exhaled. He loved the feel of Chase's big, warm body pressed up against his. He felt so… safe, and protected, and… claimed.

Yes, this was exactly where he wanted to be.

"Mmm, that feels nice," Levi moaned, referring to the thick shaft pressed firmly between his ass cheeks. One wrong move, and he would surely be impaled by the massive rod jetting out between Chase's legs.

"Yes, it does."

Levi could sense the smirk plastered on Chase's face.

"Your body fits perfectly between my arms."

Chase was right. The two of them fit perfectly together, almost as if they were made for each other. But that was only fantasy, right? Something that people wrote about in romance novels or poems but never actually experienced in real life.

Feeling totally at peace, Levi closed his eyes and enjoyed the silent bliss.

From behind him, Chase placed his head into the crook of Levi's neck and inhaled.

There was something primal and animalistic about breathing in your partner's scent. It was about knowing them. Understanding their uniqueness and making them your own. Their scent, their pheromones, belonged only to you.

He loved the possessiveness of it all. He wanted so badly to belong to someone. To have that person yearn to be with him. To move heaven and hell in order to make it happen.

Levi placed his arm over Chase's and melted into the man lying behind him. This was heaven. This was bliss. This was where he wanted to be. Always and forever.
