Chapter 6 - Igor

I couldn't be happier now that Arina is bound to me by marriage. I think I will change her name to Milov-Sidorov just to rub it in with Kervyn.

I walk over to Matvey, who hands me a glass of whiskey. "Congratulations."

"Thank you, that was easier than I thought it would be," I smile and sip my whiskey.

We both glance at Arina talking to Yvonne, and I nod. "I think they're going to be good friends, which is great."

"Yvonne will show her how our family works, and she can fall in line," Matvey says.

Somehow, I doubt she'll fall in line. She's too spicy to do that.

"We need to discuss the resort. Something is happening there, and I need to investigate it further." Matvey looks at me seriously.

"Do we need to discuss business at my wedding?" I ask, and from the look, I can tell he isn't going to let up.

We move to a corner where Matvey talks quietly. "Someone is stealing from us at the resort."

"Who do you suspect it is?" I ask. "Some of the staff?"

"I don't know, but it's someone high up. I need to go there and see what's going on." He sips his whiskey.

I glance around and see Yvonne standing by herself. "Where is she?"

Matvey looks over and shrugs. "Don't know, didn't see her leave."

I turn and walk straight to Yvonne. "Where's Arina?" I ask.

"She's just gone to the loo. You can't keep her tied up, you know." Yvonne smiles brightly at me. "I'm so happy you're finally married. You're going to make an excellent husband."

"Did you tell Arina that?" I ask curiously.

"We talked about sneaking off together and having fun, just the usual." Yvonne bites into a cake, and I frown.

"Yvonne, did you tell her about any of the secret passages out of here?"

"Not where they were," she says, looking up at me with big eyes. "I mean, not exactly where they were."

"Yvonne…" I growl.

"I told her there's one near the kitchen," she whimpers.

I put my whiskey down and stride off. I hurry downstairs, and as I turn from the staircase, I see Arina moving past the clothes and into the passageway.

I hurry and get past the clothes myself before I take big steps behind her.

She glances behind her but doesn't seem to panic. She does try to run, but I catch her easily enough and press her against the wall.

"Where do you think you're going?"

"You can't make me stay here," she protests.

I tower over her and stare deep into her eyes. "This is exactly where you're staying, even if I have to have a guard on you every second of every day."

She looks up at me with a fiery gaze. I put a hand on the brick wall behind her, right next to her head, and I lean down.

"You're coming back to the wedding party," I say.

"No, I'm not," she says defiantly.

I grab her arm, and she tries to wiggle away from me. I won't lie; it excites me. We're in a dimly lit, dungeon-looking corridor, and she's writhing under me. My dick gets a little hard.

She looks up at me as she tries to get away. "Let me go."

"No," I say loudly, leaning down.

"Fuck you." She's really angry now, and I can't help myself.

My lips capture hers in a deep, passionate kiss. I press her against the wall, holding her sides.

My tongue slides over hers, and I can feel her attraction to me.

Right around the same time, her knee connects with my nuts.

I grunt and break the kiss, glaring at her.

I breathe hard, trying to flex away the pain, but fuck, it hurts hard. She got me right in the soft spot.

She smirks at me, and I grab her hands together to start dragging her back up the corridor despite her protests.

When we near the entrance, my guards come in and see me struggling with her.

"Handcuffs. Now."

They don't wait. They rush out, and I wait for them. They bring back a set of handcuffs and hold her while I put them on.

"You can't just tie me up whenever you feel like it," she spits.

"Until you behave, I'll do whatever the fuck I like."

I lead her out back into the entrance hall where everyone has gathered. I stop to look at them all.

"Party is over. Get back to work." I throw Arina over my shoulder and turn to see Yvonne looking at her, clearly betrayed.

"I'm sorry, Igor," she says. "She's clearly just like her brothers."

"Yvonne," Arina says breathlessly. "I'm sorry."

"Save it," my little sister says. She walks away with Matvey following close behind her.

"Now you've done it," I grumble. I hate it when Yvonne is upset; she can get a bit testy. She has a dangerous side to her that few get to see. Arina can be happy she's over my shoulder and not in Yvonne's hands.

I wait for everyone else to go away before I start ascending the stairs.

"Time for you to see your new bedroom," I say.

"I am not sleeping with you," Arina chokes out. "I'd rather die."

"That can be arranged," I threaten.

I walk her into the master bedroom and toss her onto the bed. Her hair is a curly mess now, and she glares at me.

"There are going to be some ground rules while you live here," I say. "And you will abide by them or spend all your time locked in here."

She doesn't say anything, so I continue.

"First of all, you're going to stop running away. We're married now. It's done. You are not undoing that."

"So, I could undo it if I want to," she says.

"But you won't because I command it," I growl.

She looks up at me with those intense blue eyes, and I want to take her, or at least I would want to if my balls weren't still throbbing from being kneed.

"Second rule, you apologize properly to Yvonne. Some guards can take you two out shopping, and you make it up to her. You don't want to be on her bad side, as sweet as she seems." I hold my hands out. "And no more kneeing me, kicking me, or anything like that. I won't hit you or hurt you, so you don't need to do it to me."

"I will fight you every step of the way," she snips.

"Then you will be tied up every step of the way." I cross the room and sit down on the armchair.

"When you're ready to be civil, I will remove the cuffs so you can get changed." I cross my legs and arms and watch her.

"This is ridiculous," she says. "I don't even have anything to change into."

"I'm sure one of my T-shirts will fit you fine for now. I'll have Yvonne find your address and get your things." I smile.

"Go to hell," she huffs as she leans back and looks away.

That's how we sit, in absolute silence, until I notice her nodding off. I give it some time until she's fast asleep, and then I gently move her onto the bed and remove the cuffs. I cross my room and go to the door where a guard stands. "Alfie, keep an eye on her. Don't let her sneak out again. She can wander the house, but someone must always accompany her."

"Yes, sir," Alfie says.

I go down the hall and back to my office, where Matvey is waiting for me.

"I'm going to look at the reports now and decide what we're going to do," I say, picking a cigar out of the box.

"What? No sealing the deal on your wedding night?" Matvey jokes.

I give him a stern look, and he shrugs it off, falling silent.

I sit down and cut and light my cigar, puffing on it leisurely.

Matvey reaches for one as well, and I don't stop him.

There's a knock at the door, and I glance up to see Yvonne standing there, looking mad. "Can I come in?" she asks.

"Sure," I sit back and put down my cigar.

"Igor, I'm sorry I gave her information on how to escape. I didn't think…" she begins to say, but I hold a hand up.

"It was an innocent, honest mistake, Yvonne, but you need to learn to be more on guard around people here. We are going to be surrounded by enemies, and we need to make sure we don't give them the rope they'll use to hang us with."

Yvonne nods and looks at Matvey. "What do you say?"

"I say that she's sneaky, and I have no doubt she'll try to escape again." Matvey gets up and goes to pour us each a drink.

"She can try, but I'll have a guard on her going forward," I say. "And I think you can go ahead and close all the secret passageways for now and station guards around the yard."

"Yes, Igor," Matvey says, taking his phone and disappearing deeper into the library.

Yvonne takes her whiskey and hands me mine. "I still feel bad."

"You made a mistake. And if I know you, it's one you won't make again." I smile at her. "Don't stress about it. She didn't get away, and that's what matters most."

"Why are you so determined to force this girl to be your wife?" Yvonne asks, sitting opposite me.

"She's the half-sister of my biggest enemy and the current head of the Bratva family in the US. It's a power play." I sip my whiskey.

"No, it's more than that." Yvonne looks at me, staring into my eyes. "I've seen how you don't take your eyes off her. I saw how you kissed her at the wedding. You're really into her."

"She has a certain appeal, yes." I drain my glass. "I have a lot of work to get through tonight. Tomorrow, we have a lot to do."

"Can I help?" she asks, sipping on her whiskey.

"I'm sure you can once I figure out what my plan of action is." I look at the reports Matvey has left on my desk. "For now, go get some sleep."

She drains her glass and stands up. "Goodnight, Igor."

"Goodnight, Yvonne." I watch her leave.

If only people knew what she was really capable of, they might fear her a little more.

I've seen her potential, especially after someone has broken her heart. Arina best beg her forgiveness, or her stay with us is going to be an utterly miserable one.

I look at the reports. There's definitely money missing, and from what I can see, there are few people who could skim off those accounts. It's someone high up and close. This is going to be difficult to deal with because I can see it's probably family.

Family.

We're supposed to be loyal to each other, but someone obviously didn't get the memo.

I put the report down and get up. I didn't eat much today and can feel the whiskey taking its toll on my stomach. As Matvey comes back, I gesture for him to follow and go to the kitchen.

The servants have already left for the day, so I went through the fridge and found some leftover roast chicken.

I look at Matvey. "Want a sandwich?"

"Sure, chicken with mayonnaise sounds great," he sits at the island.

I construct the perfect chicken and mayonnaise sandwiches and slide one over to him. "I'm starving."

"It was an exciting day. I'm not surprised you're hungry." Matvey tears into his sandwich and chews thoughtfully. "Hmm."

I bite into my own sandwich and groan. "That hits the spot. You know when you've been out partying all night, and then all you want is something quick to eat?"

"This would be it," Matvey agrees.

"This and a good fuck," I chuckle. "Although I'm not getting that tonight."
