11. Chapter 11

Demi

T here's a loud commotion downstairs, and it steals my attention. I jump to my feet to bolt for the door, but Ghost shoves me back on to the bed. I kick at him, but he catches my foot and grabs my ankle. He's a lot stronger than I am, and it gives Ghost the perfect opportunity to overpower me. Lucky for me, he's basically an imbecile who really should get his hands dirty more often, so he knows the right way to tie someone up and restrain them. Everything he could do wrong, he does. I say nothing as he does a piss-poor job of tying my handcuffs above my head and around the bedpost with the sheet he rips from the bed. He uses the fitted sheet to tie my feet together and then strings the remainder of the sheet around the opposite end post at the bottom of the bed. It's going to take me no more than five minutes to work my way out of this. When he's satisfied with the shitty job he did, Ghost stands back, crosses his arms and looks down at me with a smirk.

"Don't move." He instructs.

I laugh. "Don't move or what, cowboy?"

Ghost looks at me puzzled. There's another pounding thud below us, but he ignores it. Instead, he drags his fingers from my ankle, up over my knee, and then across my thighs. His hand continues its assault on my body as it skims up my stomach. He cups each one of my breasts, stops to grasp me by the throat, then travels up my neck and beneath my chin, tipping my eyes to look into his.

"Or else I can't guarantee your safety. It would be a shame if a stray bullet strikes you accidentally, wouldn't it?" He asks me, reaching to rest his hand on the gun strapped to his hip.

I didn't notice his gun. It's a shame he's a bullet man. It means all my fancy knife work I have planned for later is going to be underappreciated by him.

"It's a shame. We don't seem to have any compatible kinks. I'm really more of a carving kink girl, not the fuck me with the muzzle of your gun type. Now if you wanted to do things with a hilt, well then, I might be your type of girl. Honestly, Ghost, I just think we don't share the same interests." I say with a stone-cold, straight face.

He rolls his eyes at me in disgust, then grabs me by the face and drags his tongue across my lips. Then he yanks me by the hair and growls, "Be a good girl."

Ghost yanks the gun from its holster and heads for the door. He doesn't stand a chance. Cecile knows I want his body as undamaged as possible. I bet he doesn't make it far. Even though I'm confident in Cecile and Jay, it doesn't stop me from working my way free from the terrible tie up job he just did. He has to be one of the absolute worst criminals I've ever encountered.

I begin to untangle myself, starting with my feet. By rubbing them against one another, I'm able to loosen the crappy knots he tied in the sheet and slip first one foot out, then the other.

What a fucking idiot. I'm going to tie him up later and have some fun with him. I'm down three fingers from the dessert I made Edward. I'll need to replace them. I'm sure it will only hurt a little. Once Jay finishes him, I'll cut the rest off and save them for a later date.

I hoist my lower body up toward the headboard and spin around to get a visual on the knots I'm working with for my hands. He really never should have left me this way. It's too easy to maneuver my hands into a position where I am able to slip right out of the handcuffs. He didn't even put them on tight enough. It's such a rookie mistake. I roll my eyes and scan the room for something I can use as a weapon.

There's a loud thud from below. This time, it sounds like they could be on the stairs. It was a lot louder than last time. In the corner of the room, I spot a bedside lamp. If nothing else, I can smash it over their head and get a bit of an advantage. I run across the room so that when they bust through the door, if anyone does bust through the door, I can get a good look, then try to take them by surprise. I don't want to jump anyone from my team who might be here to protect me, but it wouldn't be the first time either.

The scuffle on the stairs drags on for longer than necessary. While I wait to see who comes up the stairs, I can't help but feel a surge of excitement. Jay is going to be arriving soon, and I want everything to be perfect. We really need to speed up the takeover. I was hoping to surprise him by wrapping his present alive for him. I wonder what Jay will say when he sees what I got him. It's so exciting the way everything has gone perfectly so far. I guess when you're dealing with someone who has the IQ of a child, though—

I don't have time to finish my thoughts. Cecile burst through the door, escorting a restrained and tied up Ghost. She's used proper rope from the supplies we packed ahead of time. Just another reason I'm a far better criminal than Ghost. It's probably a good thing he doesn't believe in getting his hands dirty. He would fuck up every job he's on. It's honestly a miracle he's even made it to the position he's in.

"Demi, are you in here?" She calls into the room. "Jay's going to be here soon and we are trying to get everything cleaned up and the decorations done down stairs before he arrives."

I step out from behind the door, holding the lamp guiltily. I set it on the nearby dresser with a small clunk.

"What were you going to do with that, honestly?" Cecile says, shaking her head at me.

I cackle. "Trust me, we don't have time for me to take you through all the options."

Cecile laughs, "Fair enough. Should I have one of the guys bring the wrapping paper up for you and the special suitcase full of supplies you packed?"

"Sure, go ahead, and if Jay shows up early, have everyone do their best to make him wait. I need you to stay with me and keep an eye on Ghost. Unlike him, I know better than to leave my victims tied up and alone." I snicker, flashing Ghost a toothy grin.

We both laugh. Poor Ghost. He had no idea what he was getting into when he showed up at Edward's club tonight. Vengeance is business and one hundred percent personal.
