EPILOGUE

AUSTIN

FIVE YEARS LATER

"It's okay, Papa. Don't be sad. I'll come home," Charlotte said, her arm around Greer's neck as he carried her to the car to buckle her in.

I tried to conceal my amusement at his discomfort, but it was more than I could hide as I buckled Addison into his car seat. Our three-year-old looked up at me with Greer's light hazel eyes full of concern.

"Da-dee, why is Papa sad?"

Greer looked up and smiled at him, then ran his hand down his face. "Papa is fine, sweetheart. It's a big day!"

I closed the door and slid into the driver's seat. Greer got in and buckled his seat belt, then glanced back at Addison with a big smile. "Let's go, buddy. Time to get Charlie to school!"

"Yay!" Charlotte cheered. "Maddie and Alex are going to be there!"

I smiled as I looked in my rearview mirror. The light caught just right on her face, making her dark hair and green eyes shine. Charlotte, or Charlie as we sometimes called her, had my features, while her brother, Addison, looked more like Greer. His dark hair and light eyes made him the perfect little mini-me for my husband.

As our kids chattered away to each other in the backseat, I reached over and took Greer's hand. He laced our fingers together, then put his right hand over them both, as if he were holding on to me.

"You're not going to cry when we drive away, are you?" I teased, knowing good and well that he just might.

My sexy silver fox turned his gaze on me. His hair was more silver than the salt and pepper he once had, but he was still hot as fuck to me, even at sixty-three.

"There's nothing wrong with men showing emotion, sweetheart. We earned these tears of joy. If she wouldn't miss out on so many social things, I'd home-school her."

I smiled at the thought of him teaching our kids at home. But like our other friends with children, we paid for Portland Prep, where Marcus and Aidan's kids went, as well as Ava Kincaid, Jackson and Simon's daughter.

"I know. And you cry all you want to, babe. I'll wipe away your tears when Addison takes his nap."

Greer slowly panned his head toward me, the look in his eyes saying everything without saying a word. But the smile that broke across his face was the very one I fell in love with, telling me we were on the same page. "I hadn't thought about that."

"I know, right?"

He squeezed my hand. "You've been needing to clean the bathroom for a long time. Now you can finally get to it and stop using the kids as an excuse."

I barked out a laugh. "Call it what you want, but I'm going to need some help."

Greer's mood had lightened until I pulled into the drop-off line for Charlotte. I knew better than to try to drop her off, so I parked the car and got the kids out. Greer held onto her as I wrangled Addison. He was a spitfire like me.

Charlotte's dark hair was in a ponytail and swung as she skipped toward the entrance. And when she saw Maddie and Alex, as well as Olivia, waiting with their dads, she let out a squeal of delight. She released Greer's hand and took off toward them.

Like we'd done so many times, Greer slipped his hand into mine as we started this new chapter in our lives. "I'm not ready for them to grow up. Think we could talk Sandra into one more?"

I grinned at the man who amazed me every day of our lives. "It never hurts to ask, sweetheart."

I'd do whatever he wanted, because Greer Rowan was the love of my life. And I would protect him and our family for the rest of our lives.

Thank you for reading The Billionair e . We hope you loved Greer and Austin's story as much as we did.
