Flash Forward a Few weeks

Cayden was trying to hurry his contacts along. Cassie being with me was actually playing well with this group. I was getting on the inside of a drug ring and having them think I was with my girlfriend was doing wonders.

They hadn’t noticed we were mates, which was a testament to how unobservant these Warlocks and Witches were. Cassie and I were all over each other, constantly. I just couldn’t help it. She was so damn beautiful, and I needed to make up for missing her all these years.

It galled me to no end that I could’ve had her by my side for a long time. The Conners probably would’ve had a coronary. Well, the males would’ve anyway.

I was fairly certain Haley and the Hackura side of her family would’ve made sure I saw Cassie. Hell, Cassie would’ve made sure I saw her.

I was pulled out of my musings when one of the Warlocks walked over to me. He asked, “Did you deliver the message?”

That’s what I was right now, an errand boy. I couldn’t keep the smile off my face remembering the role play Cassie had done with me when we discovered that’s where I would be starting.

I answered, “Yes, Otis. I delivered your message. Here’s the response.”

I handed him the envelope. I’d finally gotten real messages. Our first few weeks here they were all tests to see if anyone acted on the information. Cassie had rolled her eyes saying they weren’t the brightest.

None of the messages they’d given me were even worth passing along if I were a mole, which I was. They were obviously fakes and decoys.

We weren’t even going to act on the first big detail we were given, we were going to track what they were doing. We weren’t acting on it, though. That’s not what this mission was about.

Otis read the message and nodded. He said, “You’ve done well these last few weeks. Keep it up, and you’ll be brought into this further.”

I nodded asking, “Is there more money in that?”

Otis laughed, “Trying to keep your Fairy entertained, are you?”

Cassie wore a charm when she was with me, so they don't know what she actually looked like, but they did know she had Fairy blood.

I lied, “It’s not easy entertaining one.”

Otis laughed, “Be glad she’s not a full blooded Fairy or your little romance would be over. You two are pretty hot and heavy though. So, you must be doing something right to keep anyone with Fairy blood entertained for this long.”

I winked, “I plan to entertain her much longer.”

Otis smirked, “Well, keep doing well and we will pay you more to keep your Fairy entertained. It’s probably the wolf in her that keeps her grounded.”

I just nodded even though I knew Cassie wasn’t like that.

In truth, people didn’t really understand partials. Not that this group would try anyway. They were set in their ways. Otis walked away chuckling. I looked at my watch and went inside for a quick drink before returning to Cassie.

Several people greeted me before I walked over to the bar and ordered a whiskey neat. I sat down with the other guys who run errands. One Demon really annoyed me. He leaned over, “Where’s your pretty Fairy? She get bored of you yet? I might have a go at her if she has.”

I forced my anger down and refused to let my eyes go gold. I answered, “I more than satisfy my Fairy and she’s not tired of me. She’s working tonight.”

As a cover Cassie had gotten a job doing temp work. We were leaning into the whole flighty Fairy persona they were giving her. So, she’d flit from office job to job.

The guy sighed, “Damn. She’s a pretty one.”

I had him by the collar in second. Several people stopped drinking to stare at us. I warned, “Unless you want my fist in your face, I suggest you stop talking about her like that.”

The Demon gulped, “Hey man, she’s just a Fairy.”

I replied, “Not to me she’s not.” He held up his hands and I let him go.

I settled myself knowing once this mission was over; I was hunting this Demon down and killing him. Every comment he made about Cassie just increased the amount of time I was going to torture him before he took his last breath.

Suddenly, Cassie’s lust barreled into me hard and took me to a knee. What the hell? She popped to me in the next second and popped us out. I removed the Fairy charmed earring she had on as she attacked my neck. I groaned, “Cassie, what’s going on?”

She snapped me naked and pushed me onto the bed.

It clicked for me. I grinned asking, “Are you going into your concupiscence?”

She bit my neck hard and whispered in my ear, “I have other plans for that mouth that do NOT include talking, My Commander.”

I replied, “Whatever my mate wants.”

This was going to be fun. My brother was probably going to start an orgy with these feelings. I had no idea when my day started it was going to be such a good one.
