17. Torture

Blake’s POV

I woke up to an empty bed.

I panicked.

I looked all around the room. In the closet bathroom under the bed.

That last ones not important.

The important thing is that she wasn’t there.

I followed her scent all the way downstairs to the kitchen.

She was making a sandwich.

I came up to her and hugged her from behind.

She tensed at first then realized it was me.

“Hey.” She greeted and turned around to face me.

“Why weren’t you in the room? I was disappointed.”

“Well life can’t go your way all the time.” She joked.

“Um, is it OK if you would move in with me?” I asked nervously. “I mean you don’t have too if you don’t want to. If you think we’re moving to fast b-”

She cut off my rambling by putting her hand over my mouth.

“Slow down motor mouth. I only understand English.” She smiled. “I don’t mind living with you. We see each other everyday anyways.”

I picked her up and spun her around. By now I was grinning like an idiot.

I finally set her down. “All have some people bring your stuff.”

“And who is going to pack my underwear drawer?”

I smirked. “Me.”

“You better not.” She warned.

I kissed her nose. “I’m going to see those sooner or later.”

“Well I would rather it be later, pervert.”

I chuckled.

“By the way, where’s Midnight?” She asked.

“She was playing win the pups yesterday, then Gina took her.” I replied.

She nodded as I kissed her lips. She kissed back.

‘Alpha, we found a rogue trespassing in our territory this morning. He’s in the cells.’ One of my guards mind linked me.

‘And you didn’t tell me until now!’ I growled.

‘W-we’re sorry alpha, but you were still asleep.’ He apologized.

‘Just keep the rogue in the cells until I get there.’

I sighed. “I have to go interrogate a rogue.”

“Can I come?”

“No.”

She frowned. “Why not?”

“Because there are unmated males in the cells.” I said in a ‘duh’ tone.

“So? Who cares?”

“I care. I don’t want rogues taking what’s mine.” I growled.

‘Ours.’ Gavin corrected.

I rolled my eyes at him and turned my attention back to my mate.

“You can keep on saying it but I will always say I belong to myself.” She replied.

I growled and grabbed her waist and pulled her closer.

“Mine!” I put my face in the croak of her neck.

“Fine. If it makes you this angry than I’ll stay.” She gave in.

“Good.” I pecked her lips. “I love you.”

“I love you too.”

I headed towards the cells.

Artemis’s POV

I sat down at the kitchen island, eating my sandwich. I quickly finished it.

It’s been a few hours since Blake left.

I’m super bored.

I can’t believe I’m stuck here while Blake goes to interrogate a rogue.

It’s not fair!

“Hey Artemis.” Xander walked into the kitchen.

“Hey.” I greeted. “Where’s Midnight?”

“She’s playing with the pups.” He answered. “What are you doing by yourself?”

“Aw are you concerned?” I teased.

“Nope. Just bored.” He smiled.

I playfully glared at him. “I’m stuck here while Blake is having all he fun interrogating a rogue.”

“You think interrogating a rogue is fun!?”

“I’ve done a lot of interrogation over the years.”

“So, is it your hobby?”

“Yeah, pretty much.” I nodded.

All of a sudden a light bulb went off in my head.

“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” I asked Xander.

“That if scientist have to spend a lot off time around dirty chemicals, how do they keep their lab coats so clean?” He answered.

I looked at him like he was crazy.

“No, idiot! You just saw a commercial for laundry detergent.”

He glared at me. “Well, excuse me fore being for wondering if it’s just click bait.”

I rolled my eyes. “I was thinking, the rogues don’t know I’m Robin Hood. Which means I can go interrogate them and I can get them to talk since I’m so scary.”

“Well I do agree that you’re scary.” He nodded. “But what makes you think the rogue will just give you all the answers?”

“I’m he girl with a quiver full of silver arrows and a silver dagger. Wouldn’t you talk?” I smirked.

His eyes widened. “Good point.”

I went upstairs. Some people had already brought all mine and Midnight’s stuff in. Including my weapons.

Luckily they had gloves on so nobody got hurt.

I put on my hunters attire and heading to the holding cells.

I stopped at the door because the guards wouldn’t let me pass.

“Sorry Luna but alpha doesn’t want you to go in.” One explained.

“I’m here to help with the interrogation of the rogue. If the alpha doesn’t like it then he can deal with it. Let me in.” I replied.

They hesitated but nodded.

I entered. It reeked of blood, rotting flesh, and people who lost control of their bladders.

“Hey babe.” A rogue smirked from his cell.

“Back off asshat.” I responded.

He chuckled but left me alone.

I heard Blake yelling. I followed the sound of his voice to one of the cells.

There was a rogue chained to the wall. The silver was clearly burning his wrist.

There was two other guards beside Blake. Blake had a whip in his hand.

The rogue’s face was bloody and he had whip marks on his chest and arms.

“I’m going to ask you again! Who sent you!?” Blake growled.

“And I’m going to say it again. I’m not talking.” The rogue spat.

“Fine!” Blake growled again.

Blake threw the whip back. My eyes widened at what he was about to do.

The rogue prepared for the impacts of the whip.

I ran in front of the rogue. I put army arm in front of my face and let the whip wrap around my forearm.

I snatched the whip from Blake’s grip.

“You two, go upstairs!” I yelled at the guards. I pointed to Blake. “You. Come with me. Now.”

Blake growled and exited the cell. I followed and shut the cell door.

“I told you I didn’t want you to came down here.” Blake growled.

“And I ignored you.” I shot back.

He groaned in frustration.

“Explain yourself Blake. Why did you whip him?” I held up the whip.

“You kill rogues it’s the same thing.”

“No it’s not. I never used torture Blake. Choosing to kill someone is one thing but torturing someone is a lot worse.”

“Fine. Go in there and interrogate him. See how well you do.” He growled before stomping away.

I swear he acts like a toddler.

I entered the cell again.

The rogue had an unreadable expression.

“Why did you stop him?” He asked.

“You sound surprised.” I replied.

“Well yeah kinda. You’re Robin Hood. You’re kinda known for killing rogues.”

“Killing is one thing, torture is another. Not my style.” I sat down in front of him. “Why are you here?”

He sighed. “I’m supposed to give a message to the Luna of this pack, but that asshole alpha wouldn’t let me see her. Her name is Artemis King.”

“What was the message?” I asked.

“I can’t tell anybody but her.”

“Why?”

“The guy who sent me threatened my pups. He threatened to kill them if I told anybody else.”

“What about your mate?” I asked.

“He already killed my mate because I disobeyed his orders once.” His voice was no higher then a whisper.

I sighed. I couldn’t let his pups be harmed because of me. I slowly took off my mask in front of him.

“I am Artemis King. What’s the message?”

He looked shocked that I took off my mask.

He shocked his head and said the message. “Turn yourself over to Logan and your pack remains unharmed. But if you don’t then we launch an attack on your pack.”

“What are your pups names?” I ask.

He loomed confused by the question but answered. “Harmony, and David.”

“Nice names.”

He smiled. “My mate picked them out.”

I put my mask back on. “I promise I will do everything in my power to make sure nothing happens to your pups.”

I grabbed the silver chains on his wrist and unlocked them.

He rubbed his wrist. “Thanks. I promise to keep your secret.”

“I’ll see if I can get you out of here so you can see your pups.” I left the cell and went to go find Blake.

He was in the bedroom with his face on the pillow.

I quickly changed and sat next to him and ran my fingers through his hair.

“I got him to talk. Logan threatened his pups that why he wouldn’t talk to anybody but me.”

He grabbed waist and pulled me into his chest.

“I’m sorry.”
