15. Alpha VS. Huntress
Artemis’s POV
Blake came running towards me.
I dove out of the way before he could ram me.
The warriors were about to grab him but Tiffiny threw a potion in front of them.
“She does this on her own or you all die.” She threatened.
“Stay where you are.” I commanded.
“Artemis, we can’t just-” I cut Noah off.
“That’s an order. Stay where you are.”
“Why are you commanding my pack!?” Blake growled. “Why are they listening to you!?”
He’s forgotten who I am.
He came lunging at me again. I dodged him and quickly took out my staff and hit his back.
He groaned and lost his balance. He rolled on the grass while holding his back.
Luckily only the bad inside my staff was the only silver piece.
“Please Blake I don’t want to hurt you.”
He got up off the ground and growled. “Liar!”
I put my stuff away showing him that I wasn’t scared of a real fight.
He came running towards me again.
As soon as he reached me I place my hands on his chest and stomach and flipped him over me.
“Blake stop! You’re not thinking clearly.”
He got up from the ground. “It’s Alpha Blake.”
He started to throw punches at me but I blocked the with my forearms. It hurt but at least it wasn’t my face.
“Not to your mate, it’s not.” I pointed out.
He attempt to push me away but I stood my ground. “You are not my mate! I haven’t found my mate!”
He slid his leg under my feet causing me to fall.
He stood in front of me. I grabbed my bow and an arrow and shot it in his should.
He cried out in pain.
I haven’t gotten the chance to replace my ulcer arrows to regular ones.
Oops.
I got off the ground. Blake pulled out the arrow from his shoulder and started to rub the spot where it was.
It started to heal slowly.
“Yeah, ‘you didn’t want to hurt me’ my ass!” He said calmly.
“You forced me to do it.”
He shook his and lunged at me again. This time he succeeded.
I fell to the ground with him on top of me.
I ground and reached for my dagger holster but Blake grabbed both of my wrist and pinned them next to my head.
“Trying to reach for your little knife to kill me.” He shook his head. “You hunters are no better than rogues.”
That did it.
That one sentence pushed me off the edge.
It made my blood boil hotter than volcano lava.
I placed my feet on his stomach and pushed him off me.
We both got up from the ground. He started to throw punches at me again.
He punched my face. I heard a loud crack come from my nose.
I groaned and held my nose with both hands leaving me exposed to Blake’s punches.
He smirked then kicked my legs then threw a punch at my stomach. He punched my bottom lip drawing out blood.
I backed away from him and popped my nose back into place. I cried out in pain but it vanished slightly.
I saw him hold up a familiar knife and smirked.
I looked down at my holster and saw it opened.
I took out my staff again.
He attempted to slice my skin with the dagger but I twirled my staff, blocking the dagger.
I felt a sharp pain in my side. I loomed down and saw Blake had sliced my waist.
Blood was dripping down, all the way to my thigh.
I kicked his chest, with and sent him flying.
I pressed the button on my staff causing the blade to come out.
Blake was on mid back groaning. I place my foot on his chest keeping him in place.
I pointed the blade on my staff at him.
“Go ahead. Kill me.” He growled. “And prove me right.”
I looked at him for a moment. I pressed the button on my staff retracting the blade back in. I put my staff away.
He looked at me confused. “Why aren’t you killing me?”
“Because Blake, I’m your mate.”
He looked angry again. All the sympathy from his face vanished.
He grabbed my foot, that was still resting on his chest, and pushed it off him.
I fell on my back. Blake wrapped his hand around my throat. My hands gripped his wrist.
“You are not my mate!” He growled.
I released his wrist. I unzipped my jacket slightly and pulled the collar away from me. Revealing me mark.
I used my other hand to take off my mask.
When he looked at my mark he looked shocked. He looked back at me.
“It’s your mark Blake. I’m your mate.” I tried not to talk to much. He was cutting off me oxygen supply.
He stayed silent for a few moments then spoke up. “Artemis?”
He released his hand from my throat and helped me up.
“What, no Princess?” I smiled.
He pulled me into his chest and held me tight.
He place his head in the croak of my neck and started crying.
“I’m so sorry. So sorry. I hurt you.” He cried into my shoulder. I didn’t mind the wetness on my shoulder.
I wrapped my arms around his neck. “It’s OK. You were under a spell. It’s not your fault.”
“I knew what I was doing but I couldn’t stop myself. I hurt you.”
I stroked his hair. “It’s ok. I don’t blame you.”
“I’m such a bad mate.”
I lifted his head so he would look at me. “You are not a bad mate.”
I kissed his lips softly since my lip was still bleeding. I pulled away.
“WHAT!?” Tiffiny yelled. “How did you break my spell!?”
‘Grabbed her while she’s distracted.’ I mind linked the warriors.
“You little— let me go!” She yelled as the warriors grabbed her.
“Make sure she doesn’t have any other potions. Take her to the cells.” Blake command.
They dragged her away. Blake slammed his lips on mine again.
He snaked his arms around my waist. He accidentally touched my sliced flesh. I winced.
He pulled away and looked at me worried.
“Let’s get you to the pack doctor.” He picked me up bridal style.
“Blake, you can’t carry me. You’re hurt too.” I pointed to his shoulder.
“Don’t worry it’s healing.” He kissed my forehead and started walking to the pack hospital.
“You know what I just realized.” I said
“What?” Blake asked
“It was Alpha VS. Huntress. And the Huntress won.” I smirked.
