47. Epilogue
Epilogue
“Think he will like it?” I asked, as I carefully placed the final touches on the elegant decorations in Hypnos’ new bedroom in the opulent mansion. The soft glow of the moon filtered through the large windows, casting a gentle glow on the plush velvet curtains and glistening crystal chandelier. The faint scent of freshly cut poppies mingled with the subtle aroma of polished wood and rich leather furnishings. I could almost hear the gentle rustle of the silk bedspread as I imagined Hypnos settling into his new room.
We were going to make Hypnos leave behind the dark cave at the base of the mountain. He believed it would grant Thanatos and me the privacy we craved during our blissful honeymoon phase. However, Thanatos both embraced the notion of forever being in that phase. It just seems fitting to invite Hypnos to share our joy and live with us in this massive home that Thanatos demands I live in.
Fluffy missed Hypnos something fierce. Fluffy would often have sleepovers with him. He was worried about the sleepy god. I think Hypnos has been sleeping more, spending more time in his dream realm than actually living.
Was Hypnos depressed? Longing for something his brother had? I wasn’t sure, and I was too afraid to ask Thanatos to confirm my suspicions. I don’t think I could handle the truth.
I made a decision that was for both parties’ sake that Hypnos move into the mansion. And let’s be honest, the mansion was way too large for Thanatos, Fluffy and me.
“My treasure. I think you have gone too far.” Thanatos gazed around the large bedroom. I’m not sure if it was in shock or awe.
Witches and wizard trinkets adorned the dressers, while crystals, candles, and cauldrons filled the bookshelves. The entire movie collection of Harry Potter and various book collections laid out on the shelves. They were all meticulously laid out so he could see each one. The bedspread was that of his favorite house, the one with a lion on it. I wasn’t sure which house that was.
I had gone to earth and Thanatos helped me disguise myself as a human and bought out the entire store. It was at a children’s store no less, but that didn’t bother me in the slightest. It did Thanatos. He wasn’t sure his brother would enjoy such a bedroom. Even said that it was too childish for a god who was thousands of years old.
But I wanted to give Hypnos something he would enjoy. He was far too lonely. If this was his solace, to find a place where he could have fun in privacy, then what was wrong with it?
I looked over the room one more time and wrapped my arms around Thanatos’ waist. “He will love it. I just know it.”
Thanatos patted my head and sighed. “If you say so. If this will get him to stay with us, then I’ll be happy with it.”
Bare footsteps came down the hallway, along with the clicking claws of Fluffy beside them. We braced for the shock, the anger, the–well, I wasn’t sure what emotion when Hypnos came into the room. When he first entered, he didn’t have that mischievous look in his eye, his eyes not as bright but when he gazed upward and saw the floating candles in the room, the bed, the dresser his long white hair moved with the nonexistent breeze.
“Wha–”
I stepped away from Thanatos and held onto Hypnos’ hand. “This is for you,” I whispered. “Thanatos and I wanted you to have a room of your own. For when you to live with us. Here in the mansion.”
I pulled Hypnos toward the bookcase and showed him all the trinkets, the books, the movies. The large pull-down projector screen, the couch. He was quiet the entire time as I showed him every cranny of the room. No part of the room was without thought, even the balcony had its very own white owl. It didn’t have eyes, because this was the shadow part of the Underworld, but, Thanatos kept his mouth open, his face filled with complete awe.
“So?” I let go of his hand and felt Thanatos wrap his arm around my waist. His wing captured me, almost to shield me from any harsh words his brother might say. That I may have gone too far.
I looked at both of them, making sure they weren’t saying anything silent to each other, but all I saw was a midnight blue tear running down the dark skin of Hypnos. “This–this is amazing. How, why?” His shoulders shook and wrapped his arms around himself.
Fluffy whined, pawing at Thanatos’ thigh. I wrapped my arms around Hypnos and Thanatos, followed with some encouragement.
“We want you here, brother. Up here in the mansion with us. We don’t leave family down the mountain,” Thanatos murmured. “And if you agree to stay, we have another gift for you.”
Hypnos blinked back the tears. “What else could you possibly give me? This is the best gift I have ever been given.”
I laughed and shook my head. “Oh no, I think we can up it up a notch.”
Thanatos pulled a long rectangular box beneath his robes and handed it to Hypnos. Hypnos eyed it carefully and took it, carefully unwrapping it, finding a wand inside. His eyes lit up, and he pulled it out, leaving the wrappings on the floor.
“It’s a wand!” he screamed. With a flick of a wrist, it shot out a small flame that slowly dies as it crosses the room.
Thanatos rolled his eyes. “We are gods, and you wanted that stupid wand that humans wanted for entertainment. Now you have it.”
Hypnos screamed and jumped, wrapping his legs and arms around Thanatos. Fluffy snarled, growled and jumped, dancing excitedly along the both of them all while I laughed so hard I fell to the bed.
I never thought my life would lead to this. Once a lonely human, turned stripper–saved by the God of Death who just so happened to be my soul mate. I had everything I could’ve ever wanted and so much more. A life, a love, a family, and I could not imagine anything more than I could ever want.
“Hey, now that I will live in the mansion now, that means I can help be the nanny for the baby, right?”
My head popped up from the bed.
“Baby? What baby? We aren’t having a baby!” I shouted.
Thanatos shook his head sharply at Hypnos, who opened and closed his mouth like a gaping fish.
“Babies?” Hypnos backtracked. “I said nothing about a baby!”
I concentrated really hard and felt my stomach. Searching for any signs of life and there I felt a tiny little soul.
I gasped and narrowed my eyes at Thanatos. It’d been two years since we have bonded. We talked about having children, but not for a while. We wanted to make sure that Hypnos was taken care of, maybe even wait until he found a mate.
As of late, Thanatos had read about breeding kinks. He kept telling me he wanted to fill me with his come, fill me until I swelled with his baby. Of course, I indulged it at the time, I didn’t actually think that he was pouring his–
By. The. Fates.
“Thanatos!”
Thanatos raised his shoulders to his ears. “Yes, my treasure?”
I crooked my finger and beckoned him toward me. He took his time, scuffling toward me, and he lowered his towering body down to the bed and I grabbed his collar of his robes. “Did you knock me up, you big fat twat-er-melon?”
His blue eyes brightened, that shone down to his cheeks. “Maybe,” he said sheepishly. “The thought of you swelled with child, I may have, accidentally—”
I punched him in the shoulder. “Don’t you ever hide that from me!” I felt my skin grow bright. “I don’t go hunting in your soul for secrets, now don’t you hide shit from me you gigantic pile of bones! You tell me stuff like this, otherwise I’m going to know everything. Even when you need to go take a shit!”
Hypnos snorted in the corner.
“Now hurry and kiss me because we are gonna have a baby.”
Thanatos smiled beneath his hood and tackled me to the bed. His cock strained against my leg and Hypnos groaned.
“Please don’t christen my bed! This is my room now!”
