Epilogue
Setting down the file, Tristan rubbed his tired eyes, wondering for the millionth time why he ever agreed to take over the Silver Point Pack. Oh yeah…because my grandparents asked me to. After listening to them tell him about how his father had failed the pack, he saw a chance to right some of the wrongs Josiah had done—at least with the Silver Point Pack. Shifting his gaze to the window, he stared at the darkening forest, feeling the trees calling to his wolf. But that would have to wait.
Just before he'd left for the night, Reeve handed him a huge pile of folders, containing information about the current pack members, with instructions to go through them. Even after reading for several hours, he'd only reduced the pile by a third, which didn't bode well for finishing his assignment. Pushing back his chair, he got up and walked over to get another mug of coffee, figuring the caffeine would at least help keep his eyes open.
There was a lot more to being an Alpha than he'd first thought and, as he sipped his coffee, doubts resurfaced about taking the job, but he wasn't one to back down from a challenge. Not after he saw the pride shining in his grandparents' eyes when they found out he'd accepted Reeve's offer.
Looking at the folders still waiting for him, Tristan sighed before filling his mug again. Returning to his desk, he grabbed one, opened it, and began reading about another member of his new pack. So absorbed was he with the file, he never heard the door to his office open.
"Hey, boss…"
Startled, Tristan glanced up at the man standing just inside the door. "Who the fuck are you?"
Raising his eyebrow, the man smiled. "It appears I'm your mate."
