Chapter 1
CHAPTER 1
B ethany Carter pushed her way out of the church. She yanked her white veil off of her head and threw it to the ground along with the bouquet of flowers she’d been holding.
That no good, trifling son-of-a-bitch! And that whore of all people!
Beth had gone looking for her best friend and maid of honor – scratch that, her ex-best friend and former maid of honor. She found the bitch, along with her lying cheating, scumfuck of a fiancé doing the horizontal mambo in the groom’s private room before her wedding. Her own fucking wedding.
They were making noises that sounded like a scalding cat crying out in pain. Lord knows that bitch wasn’t in pain cause the fucker’s dick wasn’t big enough to cause pain.
Hell, sex with the fucker wasn’t that damn good to begin with. She had to use her trusty vibrator if she wanted a true orgasm.
Why the fuck was she marrying the asshat then? Good question. She was bored with life. Bored with the dating game and she thought she could stomach his shit.
Well, at least they saved her from having to go through with the wedding then. Now she could kick both their trifling asses to the curb and move on with her life.
Starting with taking the tickets she had as a surprise honeymoon to Scotland. The dream vacation she had wanted.
“Bethany, slow down damn it!”
She’d just made it to the church parking lot where her car had been hidden so that the shitheads in the church didn’t put signs and cans on it like they do at weddings. Fuck that noise.
“What? Oh, you managed to get your dick out of the cunt you were plowing in your dressing room. On our fucking wedding day, Doug! Couldn’t it have waited until after the honeymoon or was she planning on sneaking there too?” Bethany sneered as she whirled around on her ex-fiancé next to her car.
“Now, let’s not be rash. We have a church full of people waiting on us to get married, Bethie.”
“Do not fucking call me that nickname. It’s pathetic. Why don’t you go marry that whore you were fucking just a few minutes ago?” Beth shouted at Doug.
Beth couldn’t help but glare at Doug as he inched his way towards her as if he was pacifying her. She looked behind him and saw her sneering former best friend, Haley, standing in the background as she watched them together.
“Because you’re the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. She’s just a passing fancy. I have needs, Beth. We weren’t having sex until we got married…”
“Bullshit Doug. You were asking me to a quickie two days ago before you went out to the bar with your boys for your bachelor party.”
“I have needs, Bethie. Needs that you weren’t meeting.” Doug’s feeble attempt to make her sound like the bad guy ringing through the air.
“Needs? You have needs? Then you should have said something like a real man would have instead of cheating like the rat you are. I’m done. I told you I had one rule, Doug. No cheating. You broke that simple rule. Now you and Haley can have each other. I’m done!”
Beth turns to unlock her car when Doug’s hand grips her upper arm and tries to turn her to face him. As she turned, her free arm went back and then forward as she punched Doug in the face.
When Doug stumbled back and used his hands to cover his face, she quickly jumped into her car and started it. As she drove away, she rolled down her window.
“Fuck you both! You’re made for each other. If you think I’m going to be married to you while you continue to fuck the whore, you’re dumber than I thought!”
Beth drove away. Once she was away from the church she screamed out into her car.
She drove to the bar and packed a bag. The one smart thing she did was not allow Doug to move into her apartment. Now she didn’t have to see him. Thank God for hindsight. She didn’t even give the rat a key.
Grabbing the tickets, she headed to the airport, leaving her car in long term parking. She went to the front desk and requested a refund or credits, which ever she could get on the one ticket and an upgrade on the other. Once everything had been settled, she went through security and then toward the gate.
She would use the next a week in Scotland to drown her sorrows and curse her ex-ratfuck and get over him. She would gather herself back up, put herself back together and then come home with a new plan to move the fuck on. Good riddance.
When she got to the gate, she sighed in relief. Her flight wasn’t for another two hours so she went to find the closest bar near the gate. She ordered herself dinner and a few drinks to guzzle in the process.
She just swallowed the last of her drink when they had begun calling boarding for her section. Since she’d already paid for her drinks and dinner, she got up and rushed to the gate so that she could start boarding.
Once she’d gotten to her seat, put her bag in the overhead compartment, she sat in the first-class seat and leaned back, closing her eyes. She could finally relax and let the ugliness of today go once and for all.
Beth didn’t even stir when the flight attendant went through the preflight humdrum that they are supposed to go through. She slept through the takeoff and climb into the air. She was officially done. First stop was to catch her connecting flight in Los Angeles.
Beth slept the entire flight to LA. Once she had switched to her connecting flight, she pulled out her kindle and started reading the latest book by Lexi Blake. Now if only she could find a real man like Ian Taggert.
One who didn’t take shit from her. Wouldn’t allow her to walk all over him and had no problems telling her she was being a bitch. One that would fuck the living shit out of her, too.
