Fun House

" L et's ditch this guy, and I can show you how it is done," I smirk excitedly. We start heading toward the hidden zone we discovered when we first entered this place. As we pull our masks back over our faces, the atmosphere around us shifts, the festival lights flickering in the distance. My adrenaline is pumping, and my hormones are raging, the thrill of the moment consuming me completely. The sounds of the festival grow louder, mingling with the pounding of my heart. This night is about to get a lot more interesting.

"Let's have some fun in the fun house, shall we?" I looked over at him, and he gestured his hand, giving me the go-ahead.

"Ladies first," really? "Oh, how kind of you," I say determinedly.

We walked around to the backside of the building to skip the line and go straight in. As we approached, we spotted a back exit door propped open and unattended, making it the perfect opportunity to slip inside unnoticed.

"Over there," I pointed, telling him where we could sneak in. We quickened our pace, the thrill of the clandestine entry heightening our senses. The dimly lit alleyway provided the perfect cover as we approached the door, ready to dive into the chaos waiting inside.

As soon as we entered, we could hear people screaming and the distant sound of people running like their lives depended on it. I took a deep breath in,

"Ahh, I love the smell of chaos." Slowly letting my breath out. We stayed low and hidden out of plain sight until we found the perfect spot. There was a room with strobe lights, making it almost impossible to see anything.

The room is empty, with no workers in sight. This area is where people experience the illusion effect and get scared shitless right after exiting. Old and beat-up furniture is scattered around, adding to the spooky atmosphere. In the corner, I spot a large ass cupboard that's empty. This is perfect. I grab Ghost's hand and yank him towards it with me before anyone can enter the room. We move quickly, our footsteps pounding harshly. We squeeze into the cupboard, pulling the doors shut behind us. The anticipation of what's to come heightens the tension, making my heart race faster.

"What's your plan now, Little Killer?" he asks, pulling his mask up and looking at me with those piercing eyes. If I moved any closer, I'd end up sitting on his lap—not that I'd mind. As I pull my mask up, my lips start to tremble. Being this close to him makes me nervous, my heart pounding. The strobe lights cast shadows on us from the cracks in the walls, adding to the moment's intensity. His lips are so full and plump, practically begging me to bite into them.

I lean in close to his ear, feeling his warm breath on my skin. "Just be patient, and time will tell," I say seductively, my voice barely above a whisper. He lets out a low growl, a sound that sends shivers down my spine, and places his hand on my thigh, gripping it tightly. The heat from his touch spreads through me like wildfire. I want him in me right fuckin' now. The suspense is killing me.

Where the hell is everyone? The room is filled with loud noises—muffled voices, distant crashes, and the constant hum of the strobe lights. It's hard to tell what's happening outside our little bubble of tension and desire. The chaos around us only heightens the moment, making it feel like we're the only two people in the world.

So I peek open the cupboard door a bit to be able to see if anyone is coming, and lo and behold, there she is, alone, afraid, and soon to be dead. "Watch and learn." I turned to him and gave him a quick head nod, pulling down my mask and revealing my beautiful bayonet, swinging open the frail door and jumping up, grabbing the girl from behind. She starts to scream and plead. Begging me to stop. "I thought you guys couldn't touch anyone!" She yelled.

"My apologies, amor, I must have missed that part of the meeting." I kicked her legs out from underneath her, bringing her down to her knees.

Her eyes are holding back unshed tears. The strobe lights are causing an effect only a fuckin' psycho would love to see. The shrieks of excited visitors echoed through the darkened corridors of the funhouse. A group of guys barged into the room. The disorienting flashes created a chaotic dance of light and shadow, making it nearly impossible to see clearly. The walls seemed to pulse with each burst of light, and the ground felt unsteady beneath my feet.

Among the confusion, someone entered the room and tripped, falling and landing right in front of me as I was about to consume a woman's life, their silhouette jerking awkwardly in the intermittent light. Laughter erupted from the group around me, assuming it was all part of the spooky fun and fun-house act.

In the corner of my eye, through the strobe lights, I saw something that made my blood run cold—a figure, masked and menacing, somewhat like me, but he was in a silver devil mask. The mirror room showed a reflection. A reflection that I told myself to stay away from. I forgot about the devil-masked guy. I was too busy being so wrapped up with Ghost.

How could I have forgotten? I am a fuckin' idiot. This is why I never have any time for romance in my life. It's too late to hide now.

I can hardly believe what I am seeing. The onlookers, still convinced it was part of an act, cheered and clapped, their voices blending with the sinister soundtrack of the funhouse. The victim's desperate eyes searched for help, but the crowd's delighted reactions only added to the horror. "Fucking help me, God damn it!" She screamed out with tears streaming down her face. The strobe lights continued to flicker, casting grotesque shadows on the walls as the line between reality and performance blurred in the most terrifying way.

I bent down to the woman's ear and whispered in a low voice, "The show must go on," as I dragged my knife across her throat with a chilling ease, like a blade gliding through silk. The blood flowed freely, and I locked eyes with the devil himself, feeling a twisted sense of satisfaction. Her body hit the floor with a hard thud, the sound barely audible over the chaos around us. The group of guys didn't even glance her way, too wrapped up in their own world to notice the life that had just been snuffed out.

Looking down, I see her blood flowing out like a crimson river, and I'm lost in my thoughts. Ghost bursts out of the cupboard, clapping. "Well done, Little Killer, I didn't think you actually had it in you." I chuckled, snapping back to reality.

"If you only knew." Looking back up at the door, there he was with his men. "We need to leave now!" I shouted at Ghost. "Oh, come on, the fun just started. You put on a hell of a show. I'm kind of jealous." We don't have time for this.

I grab Ghost's wrist and pull him beside me, dragging him out of the room filled with dancing lights and into another room that was no better than the one before. It was an illusion room, with a hypnotic spiral being cast on the walls from a huge projector, causing disorientation to those who entered.

Turning back, I can see the devil directing and demanding his men. "Shit. Shit. Shit!!" I yelled out in a panic. These men would be even too much for me to handle. I can't drag Ghost into whatever the hell this is. Ghost is yelling, and I can't focus on any of the words coming out of his mouth.

We push through, my mind racing to find an escape. Each room we enter seems more sinister than the last, filled with grotesque mannequins and distorted mirrors that play tricks on the eyes. The walls seem to close in, and the claustrophobia is almost suffocating. I glance back at Ghost. His face is covered in confusion.

My heart is pounding, and I'm trying my best to remain calm. Dragging Ghost through more rooms of the funhouse, we keep hitting dead ends, the maze-like corridors twisting and turning with no clear way out. The footsteps of the devil and his men echo louder and louder, closing in on us.

"We need to keep moving," I urge, my voice barely above a whisper—every second counts. We stumble into another room, this one filled with hanging chains and dim, flickering lights. The atmosphere is oppressive, and I can feel the weight of impending doom. We have to find a way out before it's too late.

We burst through a room where men and women were split into separate rooms, a scene of chaos and confusion. The air is filled with the smell of fear and sweat, and I can feel Ghost's grip tightening in panic.

As we separate, I scream out for Ghost, begging them to let me stay with him. "Let me fucking go, man, she needs me," he yelled at the worker who was assuring him that I would be okay. At this moment, I am not worried about myself. They have seen him. They know he is with me, and for that, if they plan on harming me, they will do anything to draw me in. I have seen this so many times in my life and in too many movies to be able to count.

No one was ahead of us; the only people behind us were the ones we were running from. That means… Ghost is alone with all four of them. "Fuck! How could I have been so fuckin' stupid!" I begin panicking, and I start to see red, punching the walls to release some of my pent-up anger. They finally catch up and are told to head into the room and await further instructions. I am so angry I could cry. It's just me in the room alone with a bathroom set up consisting of a tiled floor, a broken toilet, and a big ass mirror.

I have failed before, and I told myself I would never fail again. The room darkens, and the mirror flicks on, showing the other side where the men are being held. "A double-sided mirror," I say in confusion. Ghost is standing there searching in the darkness for an exit, and a fuckin' strobe light kicks on. Fog begins streaming up from the floor. "Ghost, I am here!" I said, screaming and banging on the mirror.

He could hear me, but he could not see me. The men approach him, and one grabs Ghost's shoulder, causing him to react and shove the man off him. Ghost is thrashing into the glass, trying to break it to get to me. Where the fuck are the workers? Is no one seeing this? One of the men pulls out a baton and hits Ghost so hard in the back of the head, causing him to fall to his knees. They each took turns punching him, and I could hear the gross shattering of his bones. "Stop! Please don't kill him!" I'm screaming, and tears are starting to stream down my face. The men look into the double-sided mirror as if they can see me. They smile at me while the devil leans back, all relaxed in the corner.

"I'll fuckin' kill you guys, you hear me! Let him fuckin' go!" I shout to the point where my voice is cracking. Ghost is lying there on the floor in a pool of blood. "This is all my fault. I should have fuckin' known better." I can't help but blame myself for bringing us both into this hell hole where the devil himself resided.
