Chapter 6

Chapter Six

W hat feels like minutes later, I'm woken by knocking at the front door. I toss the blanket away from me as Fell stirs. His firm body lulled me to sleep as I held on to the comfort I could gain from him.

Exhausted as the adrenaline faded, they'd brought us to a home they used for guests. It was a nice reprieve that appears to be over.

"Don't you dare go answer that on your own," Kirk grumbles from my left. I pause. The footsteps of the knocker head off.

I feel a brush against the newly formed family bond. "It's only Liv."

"I don't care." Kirk's voice is gravelly as he sits up from the cot against the wall and runs a hand down his face. Blinking, he looks over at the nightstand. "What time is it?" He groans. "Ten."

"Feels like I barely closed my eyes." I stretch my arms over my head and grunt when my back pops. Cadoc's cot is empty. I assume he's checking the perimeter with Bo who's also missing.

"How are you feeling? Yesterday was a lot?" Fell asks from his position beside me, propped up on his elbow with his face in his palm. Sleep rumpled and groggy, he looks years younger.

The soft spot in my heart grows. I run my hand down the side of his face. A smile curves his lips upward as a sunbeam falls on his head, turning his blonde hair to gold. I massage his scalp, and he leans into my touch.

Leaning down toward him, I initiate a kiss. He hums, and I part my lips in a moan. His tongue slips inside my mouth. Our tongues brush together and he buries his fingers in his head, pulling my body down onto his.

He parts his hard thighs, and I slip in the gap, moaning as our lower bodies press together. Long, hard, and pressed up in just the right way, he teases my weeping center.

"You look so pretty when our mate is ravaging your mouth," Kirk growls. He nips at my neck, and I arch against Fell, who rocks up. Pleasure floods through me, and I let my eyes drift shut. Kirk's full lips suck at my pulse point and the muscles in my stomach jump as my panties turn into a slip-and-slide.

My breath hitches at the friction and Kirk chuckles. "Can you come like this?"

"Mmm hmm." I nod.

Fell pulls away. "No. When you come, it's going to be on my tongue."

I whimper as a fresh gush of cream coats my inner thighs.

"I can smell how much you like that." Kirk nips my earlobe.

"Please, Fell."

"You ready to ride my face, beautiful?"

"Fuck, yes." I lick my lips, eager to experience a mind-blowing orgasm from the man who once knew my body inside and out. "I know how my good girl likes to be worked over first thing in the morning." Fell slaps my ass and I shiver. "Go."

I scramble out from under the sheets, and Kirk yanks the oversized t-shirt over my head. He brushes his hands up my body, pinching my nipples as I hook my fingers in my underwear and pull them down.

"I'll handle the rest." Kirk shreds the panties as Fell laughs. Lying diagonally across the bed, he looks like a king. Hands crossed behind the head he'd propped up on a pillow, he winks.

"Come up here, Ylva, I'm starving." He licks his lips and my core pulses. Skin flushed, I climb up his body, pausing on his chest.

"Look at her dripping all over you." Kirk appears behind him, stroking his thick length. My mouth waters.

"Greedy girl. Can't wait to wrap your mouth around him, can you?" Fell asks.

I shake my head.

"Take your seat then." He lifts me, placing me on top of him, and his mouth latches onto me. Crying out, I lean back and tighten my thighs as he flicks my swollen bundle of nerves. I rock back and forth, cupping my breasts as he thrusts his stiff tongue inside.

"Come here, sweet girl." Kirk guides my face toward his length, and I part my lips, taking him deep as we find a rhythm. His smooth strokes tap the back of my throat as Fell sucks my soul out.

"So good, taking all of me down," Kirk whispers. He stretches my mouth with his thumb, and I groan. "Show her how good she tastes on your tongue, Fell."

Fell thrusts deeper, shifting his tongue to reach even further as I scream. The bubble inside me bursts, and I choke on Kirk as I come, hard. Slurping, licking, and sucking on my clit, Fell keeps my orgasm going.

"I'm going to paint the back of your throat."

I whimper my agreement as Kirk stiffens, and I swallow, trying to take down every drop. Choking, I pull away and collapse on the bed beside Fell, who pulls me to his side.

"You okay?" He kisses my forehead sweetly like he didn't just make me see the universe.

"Not yet." Reaching down, I slip my hand into Fell's boxers and pull him free. I run the pad of my thumb over his leaking tip and smear the lubrication around.

"This morning was for you," Fell says huskily.

"And now this is for you," I pick up speed, tightening my grip as I watch his eyes dilate. "I want to watch you come all over my hand, Fell."

"Yeah?" Fell croaks.

Nodding, I twist my wrist, and he moans and moves his hips.

A fist pounds on the door. "Rise and shine," Bo says obnoxiously. "Time to start the day."

"You don't worry about him, you focus on me. Show me how good I'm making you feel, Fell."

Fell's gaze latches on to mine and I admire the veins straining in his neck as he fucks my hand. "Close."

I tighten my grip and spit on his head.

"Fuck." Arching off the bed, he explodes, coating my hand and my stomach with his warm spray.

I bring it to my mouth and lap at his cream. "Still just as good as I remember."

Exhaling, he collapses back on the bed as Kirk cracks the door. "We'll shower and be down."

Bo's jealousy and desire pops its head up briefly before he shuts off his emotions. We're flirting with disaster, the longer we remain at odds, but the fix won't come today.

I put it on the pile of things to handle later, and reluctantly slip from the bed. The world is done waiting for us. Not bothering to dress, I grab my toiletry bag and move past Kirk toward the shower, putting an extra sway in my hips as Bo's eyes drink in my frame on the way to the connecting restroom. Let him see what he can't have.

Nudity has never been an issue around shifters. In semi-public places, we keep our clothes when we shift, but it's not required. Naked is the natural state, and much like our wolf, we prefer it.

Entering the bathroom, I admire the pale blue wall color broken up by white paneling on the bottom. A large claw-foot tub with a shower attachment takes up the far wall and I feel a pang of regret that I don't have time for a bath.

Turning the handles, I start the shower and remove the things we'd gathered on the road. Watching Bo shop at a Super Walmart when we stopped in a town to fill up was the highlight of this trip.

Scrubbing my face, I step into the shower and let the water beat down on me. The door opens and I sense Fell.

"You know we don't have time for more than a shower, right?" I tease.

"Maybe I want to look at you more while you allow it," he rumbles. The words remind me we have a long way to go. But this I can offer him. I move the white linen shower curtain to the side.

"Step into my parlor."

"I'll be your fly anytime, Ylva." Fell steps inside, blocking me from the spray as I soap up. I like the weight of his stare.

"Having fun?"

He nods. "I dreamed about this. You and me. I never forgot a second of the time we spent together."

His words heal some wounds while slicing open others. "Fell?—"

"No. I need you to know it's been a torturous hell. Even having you back, but not being able to tell you the truth. When I find out who did this, they will pay." His voice darkens and the power he's accumulated rolls just beneath the surface. "We should've been together all these years."

"But we weren't," I remind him.

"Yeah." He bows his head, letting the water wash over him and me. Rinsing off, I flee the shower, drying off with a towel as I escape my conflicted emotions, and the man I know, yet don't.

I pass a fully dressed Kirk in the hallway. The man is edible in a pair of formfitting dark denim and a white t-shirt that contrasts with his brown skin. I want to nibble my way up his powerful jawline and toy with the neatly groomed, thin mustache above his lip.

"I showered downstairs. I figured the two of you could use some time. How did it go?" his concern for all of us contrasts with the secrets I've learned about him. Surely this isn't the same man who experimented on living beings.

"Better than it has been." I shrug.

"It's a complicated situation. I'm going to get breakfast going. Your aunt dropped off food. She and her family plan to return here at noon."

Family.

"I'll get dressed and join you soon." Continuing down the hallway with a mind full of what-ifs, I'm exhausted by the time I enter the room. Slipping on panties and a bra, I shimmy into a pair of cut-off jeans and a lavender tank top.

Putting on socks, I slip my feet into white sneakers and stand. Power slams into the top of my head and I gasp as darkness surrounds me.

I blink against the inky black, turning to the left and the right. I'm trapped.

"This was too easy."

Spinning, I face the hooded man across from me. I recognize the voice of the burned man.

"Why are you doing this?" My heart beats like bat wings in my chest.

"You don't know?" The amusement in his distorted voice angers me.

"Get away from me," I scream.

"I will as soon as I work out where you are." He narrows his gaze.

"No." I imagine thick steel walls to shield my thoughts.

"I warned you to back off, and you didn't. Now you've become a problem I have to take care of."

"You can try." I grit my teeth as he pushes at the barrier I've erected.

"All talk and no skill." He batters the flimsy wall. It caves in.

Heat rises into my cheeks. "How are you doing this?"

He chuckles. "Wouldn't you like to know?"

What magic is this? I try to focus on my feelings, but the red-hot rage at his violation makes it impossible to concentrate. I gauge the distance between us.

Maybe six feet. Holding my breath, I rush forward, shoulder down, and he glides back, like a magician floating above the floor.

"What are you?" I whisper.

"Powerful."

There's a wrongness that emanates from him. "What have you done to yourself?" I whisper, horrified by the fractured energy. I narrow my gaze, seeing the red cracks in his aura. He's a mess of shards, splinters, and twisted?—

I lose the imagery and find myself back in my room.

The door flies open, and my mates enter. "What the hell just happened?"

I shake my head. "I don't know. I saw him again."

"We couldn't feel you," Kirk says shakily.

"It's like your signature disappeared off the face of the earth," Cadoc growls.

Unsure what to say, I shake my head.

"We have to stop this from happening. Who's to say next time he won't keep you wherever you're going?" Fell says.

"I don't think it's a real place," I say, thinking of his strange movement.

"My mind was with him in the dark, but my body remained here." I pat the bed.

"Anything that takes you out of contact with us is bad." Bo grinds his teeth.

"It wasn't like I did it on purpose."

"We have to get her in control of her abilities," Kirk says.

"Tell me how to do that, and I will." I cock my hip.

"Maybe that's why we're here with her family. This is more than a gift from Fenrir. She said your mother had power," Fell suggests gently.

"No. I would've known. I never saw her do anything out of the ordinary."

"You were also just eleven when they passed. There are things you might've missed," Cadoc says gently.

"I need to talk to my aunt."
