CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

"You nearly got me killed!" yelled Brenda.

"I didn't get you fucking killed. You're so damn dramatic sometimes. I swear you're annoying."

"Annoying? That man was enormous. He could have killed us both," she ranted.

"He would have killed me. If I recall, you ran," he sneered.

"Alright, you two, stop yelling. The neighbors are going to hear us. You both got out just fine. I told you we need to be more careful and maybe have two people on all of these that involve Brenda. She's the one most at risk."

"If we're going to make the money we want, we can't afford to have two people out there every time she's fucking King Kong," said Frank.

"Jealous," she sneered. "He was King Kong, Frank. Packing at least ten, maybe eleven inches, and I took every last inch of him. He filled me up."

"Knock it off!" yelled Gerald. "You're trying to piss him off, Brenda. Stop it. If we need to find another woman to take some of the heat off, we can do that. Maybe we offer a two-for-one deal for kinky dudes who want two chicks."

"No. I work alone," she said, shaking her head.

"You work how I tell you to work," growled Frank.

"How you tell me to work? I'm the one who started this, Frank. Me. I was the one that got the first mark in Philly. I was the one who did the old fuck, made him happy, drugged him, and walked away with more than three hundred grand because he was stupid enough to have that much cash laying around his mansion. Me! I did that. You took the idea from me. But you don't own me or how I do business."

"Listen, I'm not going to do this with you guys again," said Topper. "If you two want to fight like an old married couple, then fight in bed. That's the only place you were ever any good. But if this continues, I'm leaving and doing my own thing."

Neither said a word, just staring off into another part of the apartment. Brenda got up and went to the bedroom, leaving the three men in the front room.

"What about the cameras in the apartment of Amber's friend? What was her name?" asked Frank.

"Shelby," frowned Topper. "I had a half-dozen cameras in that place, sent some warnings to her to be quiet, but she hasn't come home. I'm getting nothing but black screens."

"Maybe someone found them," said Frank. "Maybe they're turned off."

"No, I would know it. I think she got spooked and moved on, which is what we wanted her to do. We didn't need her going to the cops and creating waves for us."

"I have to go," said Gerald. "I'm meeting someone at the zoo. Some animal-loving bitch or something. But she's got a fucking bucket of money she's throwing at animal activist groups. I'm playing the bleeding-heart head of a foundation trying to save the animals."

"You'll get what you want," smirked Topper. "I'm out of here, too. I'm not sure it will yield much, but I've got a girl with a great rack willing to suck my dick. At least I'll leave happy."

"Be careful," muttered Frank.

"We will. And Frank. Don't piss her off anymore. We need one another." Frank nodded as the men left, then walked back to the bedroom, knocking on the door. When no one replied, he opened the door to see Brenda changing her clothes. She had just a small thong on, trying to hook her bra.

"What do you want, Frank?"

"You."

"What? No. We've tried that before. It doesn't work for us. I have to get ready," she said, shaking her head.

He unzipped his jeans, pulling out his stiff cock, and she smiled at him. He was pretty impressive, despite what she'd said. He always could make her wet.

"I want you and you want me. It'll take the edge off," he said in a raspy voice.

"Fine. But it has to be quick." She tossed the thong and bra aside, laying back on the bed, and opened wide for him. "Let's go, Frank. Mama needs to relax."

"Just shut up and let me fuck you."

Thirty minutes later, they were both sweaty and showering off. Neither said a word as they moved around one another in the small room.

"Can you handle this guy tonight?" asked Frank. She looked at him, ready to explode, then realized he was concerned for her.

"Yeah. I got this one. What about yours?" she asked.

"Nothing big. She's not very attractive, but she's head of her own software company."

"Frank, that could be dangerous. She might suspect something."

"I know, I know. I'm just going to put her to sleep and get her cash and cards. She won't know a thing."

"Just. Just, be careful."

He stared at her as she turned her back, buttoning her blouse. They'd gone at it hot and heavy for two years, then decided they were better as business partners than lovers. But maybe he was wrong.

"I will," he said quietly. "You, too."

Brenda turned, nodding at him, and then walked out of the apartment, heading to her usual meet-up spot. Riley's had been good for her, and the bartender was happy to look the other way for a few hundred bucks.

Her mark tonight was a pharmaceutical sales rep who had a penchant for very expensive island vacations. He was nice-looking, smart, and never married. When she walked into Riley's, she knew something wasn't right.

There was a new bartender, and she didn't look like she'd be willing to play.
