Epilogue Samson
T he whole place looks like a winter wonderland. We let the moms loose and they did all the planning. Which worked out since Chloe still has headaches. Turns out she had a pretty good concussion. I was willing to push the wedding off but she said no!
And who am I to argue with the woman I love?
But her parents’ whole house is lit up with red and green candles. There are two huge trees glittering with gold and silver ornaments in the foyer and the huge family room where the wedding is being held. There are garlands festooned with live poinsettia and mistletoe and holly and berries. There are white roses everywhere to break up all the red and green and it’s damn near magical.
But it doesn’t hold a candle to the woman coming towards me. She’s practically floating on a cloud of soft white silk and she’s got holly and white roses in her upswept auburn curls. Her soft green eyes are glowing and she’s the most damn beautiful woman that I’ve ever seen.
She stops beside me, her father holding her arm and glaring at me. “You better not fuck this up, kiddo. I know where you live!”
Everyone laughs, including Chloe and I.
And then we turn to the minister and I zone in and out while the man drones on. I answer automatically, my eyes never leaving Chloe’s.
Finally, he says those magic words. “You may kiss your bride.”
I lean her over my arm and smile at her, my lips bare inches from hers.
“Well, Mrs. Wolf. Are you happy now, Sweets?”
She smiles and leans up to touch her lips to mine. “So happy. I love you, Sam.”
“I love you too, Sweets. So much.” And then I kiss her and it feels like everything slides into place. I’m with my family and the woman that I love. The woman I’ve grown up with and grown to love over the years.
The woman that was always meant to be mine.
I lift her hand up and we laugh, smiling at our friends and family crammed into the huge space, laughing and happy.
It’s time for the next generation of Tremaine’s Gym to find their happily ever afters. My mom hugs both of us tight before we can even step one foot down the aisle and then it’s like we’re mobbed by the best people in the world.
Our loved ones, our family. I look over at Chloe and she smiles at me over Ruby’s shoulder.
We’ll get our alone time later. For now…it’s time to party with the fam!
