7. Fallon

Fallon

" M cKenna, you look amazing!" I haven't seen my twin since before she went to the doctor and was diagnosed with pneumonia.

"I feel fantastic. I can't wait to get on that stage and sing again."

"Speaking of stages, aren't you nervous going out there without having had a chance to practice?" I would be a ball of nerve singing in front of millions of fans both in person and on television especially if I hadn't practiced first.

"It's all good. Besides, I've missed performing so much, I don't care if I have to stand on my head and sing. I just want to get back to my fans."

"That would be quite the show." I tease, loving the easy banter with my sister.

I want to tell her all about Peyton, but she has the show to perform. We'll have plenty of time to talk about Peyton later.

"Thanks again for filling in for me while I was sick. I know it couldn't have been easy. I really appreciate it. " She fluffs her hair in the locker room mirror of the makeshift dressing room.

"No problem. It was actually kind of fun." Plus I wouldn't have met Peyton if I wouldn't have been pretending to be McKenna.

Now that McKenna is healthy and back on tour again, I can finally tell Peyton the truth. I hope we can laugh about this someday. Our meet cute of when I pretended to be my famous sister.

"I better get out there and take my place on the stage." McKenna gives my a quick hug, before leaving the extra locker room she is using as a dressing room.

"Break a leg, McKenna!" I yell after her as she runs down the hallway.

In normal McKenna style, her clothes are strung around the locker room. Picking up after McKenna is something I do best. I lean down to pick up a discarded t-shirt by the door when a shadow falls over me.

"I rushed back here to wish you good luck on the half-time show. But it looks like you're not the one who needs the luck, Fallon." Peyton steps through the open door and into the locker room.

I jump at the sound of his voice. "H-how much of that did you hear?"

"Enough to know you're not who I thought you were."

"It's complicated." I'm tired of the lies and I don't have the energy to fight it anymore.

"What's going on Fallon? Or is that even your name?"

His hate filled gaze makes me stumble at my words, but I have to at least try to tell him my side of the story.
