13. Storm
THIRTEEN
STORM
E ver since her spanking had ended a few hours before, Brook had been extra clingy, and if he were totally honest, he loved it. He had slipped her pacifier into her mouth as he comforted her afterward, and she’d been using it on and off since.
After feeding her, he’d gotten her changed into some cute pink pajamas and they’d crawled into bed to watch a movie.
His heart had stopped the moment he’d seen that asshole in Brook’s doorway. He couldn’t even think about what the fucker might have done to her if he hadn’t got there when he did. Storm hoped he was in a jail cell getting his ass kicked already because the fucker deserved way more than what Storm gave him. If Brook hadn’t been there, he might have killed the guy, but Storm didn’t want to traumatize his Little girl more than she already was.
“Baby,” he said gently.
She looked up at him, her eyes still slightly puffy from all her crying. When she gave him a soft, sweet smile, he melted. One day, he was going to marry her. He didn’t need a year or more to know that. They belonged together, and that was all there was to it.
“Move in with me when I get the keys to the house.”
Asking was probably the right thing to do, but Storm had never been one to ask. If he wanted something, he got it. Although if it came down to it, he’d get on his knees and fucking beg Brook to live with him in his new house. Their new home.
When she didn’t say anything right away, his chest tightened. Fuck .
Then a smile spread over her face, and she reached up to run her fingers over the scruff of his beard. “Okay.”
His eyebrows shot up. “Yeah?”
“Are you sure you want someone around all the time? Didn’t you want to buy the house so you could get some quiet time?”
“I think the real reason I bought the house was that it was too fucking painful to see my friends find the love of their lives and I was alone. I didn’t realize I was lonely until I met you. You’re it for me, sunshine. I’ve never been more sure about anything in my life.”
As much as he had enjoyed his alone time, he loved being around Brook even more. She was the sunshine he needed.
“Okay,” she whispered. “Let’s do it.”
