EPILOGUE

SIX MONTHS LATER

Calli

C alli pulled up to the big white house overlooking the sea. It felt good to be back on the island where she had been raised. Turning, she saw her handsome man standing next to her with an encouraging smile. She had almost forgotten how attractive he was in his human form, but after spending the past six months with him in all his orcy goodness, she found she much preferred him that way.

“Are you ready?” he asked softly in her ear.

But before she could answer him, the door flew open, and her youngest sister came bounding out the door and down the porch before wrapping her in a hug.

“Calli! I’m so glad you’re here! I haven’t seen you in so long.”

And just like that, Calli was wrapped up in the love of her sisters.

“Is this Dru?” asked another sister.

“This is Dru. Dru… These are my sisters.”

And after that, the whirlwind visit commenced. They went in and had a nice meal, looked at some embarrassing pictures, and were lured into playing board games. They were in her childhood bedroom once again, squeezing into a too-small bed.

“Thank you so much for coming with me,” she said as she enjoyed the long blond hair of his glamor.

“I’m happy to meet your sister,” he said with the kind smile she had grown so fond of.

They had only known each other for six months, but it felt like a lifetime. After spending two full months in their mating den, they both decided it was time to come out. Although there was a part of her that wanted to go back into the sex-filled cozy bubble of their den, she was immensely enjoying the life they were building together.

When they finally came out, much to Khuldruk’s surprise and joy, the magic had been restored. The crystal glowed bright. The warriors were strong. The healers had their magic back. They were all on the lookout for the next mated pair, but everyone seemed sure it would come. Still, even with how happy she was in that life, she had always felt bad she just left without a goodbye to her sisters.

“Do you feel better after coming back?” Khuldruk asked as he slid his arms around her.

Calli nodded. “Now that I have you, it feels easier. I don’t know if that makes sense, but now that I know where home is, I don’t feel like I’m trying to force this place to feel like one. I just get to enjoy my sisters.”

He kissed her and took a deep breath, breathing her in. Calli chuckled to herself. Her giant orc still sniffed her every chance he got.

“Do you think we might be able to visit a couple of times a year?”

“Of course, We can come back whenever you want,” he said before pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “Plus, I can create a portal with the touch of a button. We could have weekly dinners if you wanted.”

While she didn’t know about weekly dinners, she knew she did want to be part of her sister’s life. The mountain would be home, but visiting the island from time to time would be nice.

Looking into Khuldruk’s eyes, she couldn’t help the fire that ignited inside her. “We haven’t been in a bed this small since my camper.”

“We have not,” he said, letting his eyes roam the ample curves of her body.

“Maybe we should do what we do best in small beds.”

“What we do best in any bed, my pet. We don’t even need?—”

And with that, she cut him off with a kiss.
