Epilogue
“Damn,” I say as Remi stands in the doorway of the dressing room. She’s wearing a white dress that perfectly hugs her body. “Lookin’ gorgeous tonight, Valentine.”
She shuts the door, then crosses the room toward me with hungry eyes. It’s the first time I’ve seen her since yesterday. It’s been a long as fuck twenty-four hours.
“You’re not supposed to be in here,” I whisper, walking toward her wearing a smile. “It’s a rule. The bride shouldn’t see the groom before the wedding.”
“I wanted to see you without a hundred people staring,” she whispers. “And I don’t give a shit about rules.”
“My deviant girl.” I burst into laughter, pulling her into my arms and kissing her. “Was it worth it?”
“You better believe it. You’re handsome as hell in that tuxedo.” She takes a step back. “I look forward to removing it from you later.”
“Funny, because I do, too,” I admit, looking forward to undressing her, too.
“I love you, Cash.”
I laugh against her mouth as she leads and pushes me into the chair I use to retie my shoe. Remi crawls onto my lap, thrusting her hands through my hair as she grinds against me. Her ass is in my hands, and I’m ready to take her right here, the last time before we say I do.
“You’re so fucking bad,” I desperately say as she kisses along my jaw.
“Cash,” she whispers just as the door swings open.
“Ahem.”
Remi creates space, meeting my gaze with wide eyes. “Please tell me that’s not Beckett,” she whispers.
“Remington! What the fuck?” he raises his voice, crossing the room, and she climbs off of me. “Everyone is looking for you! Do you know how many people think we have a runaway bride situation out there?”
A howl of laughter releases from her as she moves to her feet. “Seriously? Why would anyone think that?”
He glares at her. “Because you’re unpredictable and secretive as fuck.”
She shrugs. “Okay, that’s true.”
“I was told to tell Cash you were fucking missing! Where is your phone?”
“Aww,” I say, standing and adjusting myself. “I wouldn’t have believed you.”
I glance at my girl as she eye fucks me.
“What will I do with you two?” He glances between us but lets out a relieved sigh.
“You’re gonna marry us,” I say with a shrug. Beckett filled out the paperwork to become an officiant. Not only is he my best man and my best friend, but he’ll also be conducting the ceremony tonight. There was no other way.
“Well.” He looks between us. “Are you ready?”
“Hell, yeah,” I say. Remi pulls me in for a kiss. “Before I forget and get shooed out of here, I wanted to give this to you,” she says, handing me a letter.
I pull one from my pocket. She looks down at it and takes it from my hand. “Great minds.”
“Love you,” I say, stealing a kiss. “Can’t wait to do this.”
“I’m so ready,” she says, leaving the room.
Then it’s just me and Beckett.
He shakes his head. “Got kinda worried.”
“Nah, she’s not going anywhere. Would bet my life on that.” I place my hand on his shoulder and squeeze. He’s more nervous than me.
I’ve dreamed about it for far too long, and my body buzzes with excitement. “Is it time to go?”
He checks his watch and nods.
“Yes, it is.” My best friend pulls me into a tight hug. “I’m glad it’s you, brother.”
“Fuck, me too. Give me a minute,” I say. “I’ll be right there.”
Beckett leaves me to myself, and I unfold the letter and read.
My Valentine,
I can’t believe we’re getting married tonight.
I think Grace is a magician with wedding planning, or maybe she’s more like a fairy godmother.
Either way, I’m thankful. That summer we spent time together, I dreamed about marrying you and what it’d be like.
It was something I replayed, but it was more of a fantasy back then.
Kinsley would call it a manifestation.
Call it whatever you want, but my dreams are playing out like a movie as I live them with you.
Does that make any sense?
Sometimes, I find it hard to describe how you make me feel.
It’s why I gave you all of those letters, so maybe you’d understand and see how much I desperately missed you.
It was always supposed to be you, Cash.
You’re my protector, my lover, and my soon-to-be husband.
Can you pinch me when you see me, before you kiss me again?
I just want to make sure it’s real.
My biggest fear is it isn’t, and I will wake up living my miserable life without you.
It’s why sometimes I hold you a little tighter or kiss you deeper, just to make sure.
Thinking about us and how you look at me and our future together makes my heart beat faster.
I look forward to all the adventures we’re going on. Because the risk of getting caught with you is still alive and burning.
You’re my fantasy, my thrill, and my biggest fucking temptation.
I was made to be your wife, and I’ve never been so sure about anything.
Thank you for loving me in unimaginable ways, waiting for me, believing in us, and never ever keeping me a secret.
You give me honest love, Cash Johnson.
I’m your Valentine with all the xoxo’s and look forward to forever sitting on your face.
Mm.
I bet you’re thinking about it right now, aren’t you?
I love you with my entire self. I’m ready for our forever.
–Your Valentine

P.S. Keep this to yourself. I have a good girl reputation to keep up.
I smirk, holding my composure as I imagine her naked, hovering above me.
She did that on purpose. I might need to get even with that one.
My alarm goes off, and I silence it, going to where Beckett waits for me.
In less than an hour, his little sister, the love of my entire damn life, will be my wife.
I can’t fucking wait.
